Research will make the diagnosis of dementia faster and more accurate. Research will improve the quality of care people living with dementia receive. One day, research will cure dementia. Alzheimer’s Society, the UKs leading dementia charity is looking for a Partnerships Lead, to ensure the Society develops meaningful relationships that deliver the greatest impact in the most efficient way possible.
This critical role will lead and develop Alzheimer’s Society’s partnerships for our Research and Influencing directorate. The Society has a new and ambitious strategy, but we know that we cannot achieve everything in it on our own, so the partnerships role will be crucial to our success.
Some of the types of relationships that this role will build on and develop include; the scientific, clinical and social research communities, research charities, government funding bodies and related organisations. The role will provide internal and external strategic leadership, working closely with colleagues in other directorates to aid activities in fundraising, media, policy and influencing.

The Role
You will be running a small team and will be required to be hands on to deliver all requirements of running a finance department.
You will lead on financial management and modernise our internal processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies in the current management accounting process and put in place new processes if required.
You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and will represent the finance function at internal meetings.

What you’ll do:
- Manage the Finance Function of the charity
- Manage the year end, annual budget setting and external audit process
- Production of monthly management accounts, reporting and variance analysis
- Treasury function with management of all bank accounts and credit cards and strategic financial planning
- Manage all grants, funder budgets and reporting requirements and contribute to production of tenders
- Work with the COO in supporting and preparing all reporting for the Finance Sub Committee (FSC), the Board, Strategy Implementation and Impact SC (SIISC) and the Senior Leadership Team and deputise for the COO as required
- Ensure the organisation fulfils its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities and obligations in relation to finance and tax
- Maintain and update all finance processes, policies and IT systems
- Assist employees with general finance enquiries and tasks
Who you are:
- You have experience in a Head of Finance role with a similar size charity or grant giving organisation
- You are qualified, QBE or studying towards a professional financial qualification
- You have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including funder terms and conditions, employment law, charity compliance with the Charity Commission and UK accounting standards and SORP reporting, auditors and bodies such as HMRC
- You have a working knowledge of Sage (Intacct) software
- You are capable of owning multiple tasks and seeing them through to their conclusion, meeting deadlines and prioritising work.
- You can demonstrate a practical commitment to the Behaviours of London Sport.
- You can demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion in relation to London.
- You have a lived experience of day to day life in London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Volunteer Manager to join the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Kew). Volunteers contribute significantly to the delivery of Kew’s mission, supporting all aspects of Kew’s work notably in Horticulture, Science, visitor engagement, schools, community and access programmes and Galleries. We currently count on over 800 volunteers across our two sites - Kew Gardens in west London and Wakehurst, our wild botanic garden in Sussex.
The volunteering function sits within the Gardens directorate in the Learning and Participation department but has an organisational-wide remit, working closely with business areas such as Horticulture, Science, HR and H&S. There is a devolved structure for the management of volunteers with a full time Volunteer Manager and Volunteer Coordinator at the centre with responsibility for delivering the Volunteer Strategy and associated KPIs, policy and procedures. This central resource support is vital for the continued expansion and development of the volunteering programmes in a coherent and equitable way and to a uniformly high level.
The Volunteer Manager will engage with all volunteers, including those under 18 years of age and vulnerable adults. An Enhanced DBS check is required.
About You
We are seeking an experienced volunteer manager who will ensure our volunteers, and staff who coordinate them, have the skills and support they need to confidently and consistently perform their roles to support the implementation of Kew’s Manifesto for Change.
You will manage the central function for volunteers across Kew Gardens and Wakehurst, supporting processes linked to recruitment, selection, induction, training, pastoral care and leavers. You will have excellent knowledge of the UK volunteer sector and understand the legal context of engaging volunteering and how it differs from employment. With excellent IT and administrative skills, you will be experienced in collecting, maintaining, analysing and reporting on volunteer data.
You will be an ambassador for Kew’s volunteers and a visible presence for all volunteers, advocating for them internally and externally. Your strong interpersonal skills will ensure excellent levels of communication with volunteers and staff, and this will include representing volunteers on Kew’s Leadership Forum and chairing the Volunteer Steering Group.
This role is based at Kew Gardens with occasional regular travel to Wakehurst and occasional travel within the UK. There will also be the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

This role requires an established social sector leader who is adept at demonstrating internal and external leadership,
You will be detail oriented and logical to provide robust programme quality and assurance expertise, yet equally comfortable to lead the organisation externally too. You will be passionate about positioning Carers Trust’s programmatic offer as relevant and additive, drawing on emerging and best practice from across our network of 126 carer organisations.
As a seasoned programmes professional your leadership accountability for UK Programmes spans from development through to implementation and you will work closely across the nations to steward and role model a joined up approach across Carers Trust’s programme cycle, leading to meaningful and coherent programming.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint an experienced Fundraising Manager.
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to drive forward relationship building and income generation across all income streams, especially Individual Giving including appeals and major donors, Corporates, Trusts & Foundations and Legacies.
You will collaborate across the Trust to develop innovative and compelling funding proposals, delivering excellent stewardship to existing donors, and identifying, researching and engaging new prospects. You will ensure continuous improvement and innovation and an appropriate balance of fundraising activity across all streams, evaluating new ideas for income generation and strategies for implementation.
Working closely with the Director of Fundraising and Engagement you will develop the Fundraising Strategy, and as a member of the Extended Leadership Team, will be the lead for driving forward sustainable fundraising activity in collaboration with colleagues.
A compelling and engaging communicator, you’ll be adept at managing a portfolio of donors at different stages – from prospecting and cultivation through to ask, stewardship and retention, working at all levels of the Trust to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.
You must have substantial experience working in a senior fundraising position with a natural talent for building positive relationships both internally and externally, developing a fundraising team and growing a mixed fundraising portfolio.
