The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The Community Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. Backed by committed investment and with full Board approval, we are delighted to be growing the charity to deliver sustainable income that directly supports local children and families with hospice care in the comfort of their own homes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced relationship-builder to lead and grow community fundraising and challenge events activity, helping to raise vital income for The Pepper Foundation.
You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of community fundraising activity, building and developing relationships with volunteers, schools, clubs, local businesses and community groups, while also nurturing existing supporters and creating an excellent experience for everyone who engages with us. You will lead the day-to-day delivery of our community fundraising and challenge events activity, proactively identifying new opportunities, developing a strong pipeline of support and managing your portfolio to grow income and deepen engagement with The Pepper Foundation.
Hours: 30 hours per week (37.5hrs FTE) working from home - applicants must live within Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire (or surrounding counties)
Salary: £25,600 pro-rata (£32,000 FTE)
Key Responsibilities:
Financial
• Deliver or exceed agreed income targets across community and challenge event fundraising activities.
• Manage agreed budgets for community fundraising activities and challenge events, monitoring income and expenditure and ensuring activity is delivered in line with agreed targets and plans.
• Ensure activities are delivered as cost-effectively as possible, monitoring expenditure and helping to maximise return on investment.
• Develop and refine fundraising products, activities and supporter experiences that put supporters at the centre of what we do and encourage long-term engagement.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of community fundraising opportunities, identifying prospects, converting enquiries and building repeat support from individuals, groups and local organisations.
• Help convert one-off supporters and new enquiries into repeat fundraising relationships through strong stewardship, follow-up and tailored engagement.
Communication
• Build and develop strong long-term relationships with community groups, schools, clubs and individuals to increase awareness, support and donated income.
• Support and manage key fundraising volunteers to help deliver income and activities.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising and marketing partners to ensure community and challenge fundraising activities are promoted effectively through suitable online and offline channels.
• Confidently communicate the work of The Pepper Foundation and inspire support through a variety of channels, including informal conversations, networking, presentations, written materials, newsletters and website copy.
• Deliver a high standard of donor and supporter care to maximise fundraising potential and encourage long-term support.
• Contribute ideas and content for promotional materials within agreed budgets and timelines.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to broaden participation in community fundraising and increase supporter engagement across the region.
• Proactively identify, develop and secure new community fundraising opportunities with local schools, groups, businesses and supporters to grow income and broaden engagement.
• Ensure relevant staff and volunteers are well briefed on community fundraising activities.

Management
• Recruit, train, support and motivate fundraising volunteers to help deliver community fundraising activities and events.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and partners, such as venues and event providers, to support successful delivery.
Planning and Organisation
• Develop and deliver activity, stewardship and campaign plans for community and challenge event fundraising within agreed priorities, budgets and income targets.
• Deliver high-quality fundraising events that raise awareness of The Pepper Foundation across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
• Use Donorfy, our fundraising CRM, to administer and manage fundraising activity accurately and effectively, working with the Database Volunteer as needed.
• Produce post-event evaluations and recommendations in line with agreed requirements.
• Use insight, pipeline information and performance data to review results, identify trends and recommend improvements to future activity.
• Manage the day-to-day planning and delivery of key events and campaigns, making decisions within agreed plans, budgets and fundraising procedures.
• Take responsibility for health and safety in community fundraising activities, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are completed and relevant fundraising and safety procedures are followed.
• Respond appropriately to unexpected incidents at community fundraising events, following agreed procedures and escalating where needed.
• Take an active role in setting up and clearing down events and community fundraising activities, including periods of standing and occasional unsocial hours.
• Arrange appropriate Pepper Foundation attendance at local community events when needed.
• Manage resources effectively, including volunteer support, to maximise reach, income and engagement.
Reporting
• Produce regular reports on pipeline, activity, outcomes, income performance and learning for the Head of Fundraising, highlighting opportunities, risks and recommendations.

This is a highly collaborative role with the Fundraising team, acting as a strong marketing support function for fundraising appeals, events and community fundraising.
This role will also provide marketing support to the wider organisation to encourage engagement across a wide-range of audiences; from supporting with key messaging in Volunteer newsletters, to ensuring clear messaging for front-line service collateral to helping draft a speech for a flagship event.
Using insight and performance data, this role will continually optimise marketing activity, helping us deepen relationships with existing supporters while reaching and inspiring new audiences through targeted, audience-led communications.
Marketing
Lead, plan and deliver campaigns from concept through to evaluation, producing engaging content, and continuously optimising performance using data, audience insight and clear KPI’s.
Lead, plan and deliver digital marketing campaigns across email, web & socials to support fundraising appeals, events and community fundraisers.
Oversee development and delivery of quarterly e-newsletters and assist colleagues with their email marketing to ensure on brand and in line with overall digital calendar.
Work closely & collaboratively with the Digital Communications Officer to create and ensure all content is optimised for multiple purpose/platforms and in line with our brand guidelines.
Manage website content, landing pages and user journeys to improve audience experience and conversion using SEO and key-word optimisation.
Work closely with the Community, Events & Partnerships fundraising colleagues to ensure content and digital journeys are meeting their needs through an integrated marketing approach.
Monitor impact
Produce monthly, annual and ad-hoc reports on the impact of our marketing campaigns against key KPI’s and metrics across email, web and socials using tools within Google, SEO and Social platforms.
Work closely & collaboratively with the Digital Communications Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively and monitor campaign performance across digital channels, identifying opportunities to improve engagement.
Analyse marketing journeys for collaborative Fundraising deliverables – including appeals and events and create monthly reports to share success of conversions.
Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities.
Ensure marketing activity complies with relevant data protection, privacy and governance requirements.
Strategy
Support the creation & delivery of the annual Communications plan creating content such as blogs, case studies and informative pieces for web, socials, email and annual campaigns.
Support the Fundraising Team’s strategic promotion and stewarding objectives of campaigns, appeals & challenge events.
Work closely & collaboratively with the Individual Giving Officer to run email marketing campaigns to support our annual appeals - including audience specific segmented email journeys.
Work closely and collaboratively with the Volunteer Involvement Manager to deliver a year-round email marketing plan.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Communications & Fundraising and key colleagues across the organisation to support the creation and delivery of the Annual Impact Report and Women’s Report, as well as with external contractors on film and design projects

Person Specification:
To be successful in this role, you will have experience delivering multi‑channel marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of how content and messaging adapts across social media, email and web.
You’ll be confident creating and publishing content, and able to write clear, engaging and accessible copy tailored to different audiences and platforms with a willingness to learn and test new ideas.

Main purpose of job:To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. As a first contact worker, you will act as a gateway to both specialist counselling and advocacy services and additional specialist support services in Essex. You will use your considerable experience to provide a high-quality telephone information and support service.
The support you deliver will help individuals on their pathway to wellbeing, recovery, and social inclusion through building trusting and collaborative relationships. Job Description
The First Contact Navigator posts will play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex, based at our Synergy Essex Partner centres. The post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.
The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support. You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. THINK EQUAL is a global education initiative with a mission to ensure that Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) becomes a mandatory subject for all children in early years settings globally. SEL is the process through which knowledge, attitudes, values and skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making are developed.

Purpose of the Role
Working at the forefront of Think Equal’s mission to bring the ‘missing subject’ to the hearts and minds of children in the UK, the role of the UK Programmes Officer primary focus would be to ensure the successful delivery of the Think Equal programme across early years classrooms in the UK. Working within the dynamic Global Programmes team alongside dedicated UK-focused colleagues, this role is highly motivating, and requires great organisation and communication skills as well as an enthusiastic, solution-focused attitude. Responsibilities
Programme support
Support and coordinate the delivery of the Think Equal programme across UK projects. This includes:
Plan and deliver information sessions, training sessions, launch events and other activities engaging Think Equal practitioners, both online and in person.
Enrol new practitioners into the Think Equal training platform as they sign up to the programme.
Provide general administrative and research support to the Programmes Coordinator and other staff, representing the organisation as the first point of contact and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.
Process individual orders from schools and manage shipping requests on behalf of the staff team.
Support and communicate with TE classroom teachers and other key stakeholders - including nursery workers, primary teachers, primary heads and local authorities - to ensure fidelity and a high quality of implementation.
Check and regularly update stock levels, liaising with relevant stakeholders, and order new stock as required with prior confirmation from the Line Manager.
Effectively and efficiently update, report and analyse relevant data relating to projects.
Plan and lead focus groups with participating practitioners.
Arrange and attend occasional on-site visits to participating schools, reviewing fidelity to the Think Equal model and programme impact.
Collect and manage feedback from participating schools and settings, contributing to Think Equal marketing while adhering to data-sharing laws.
