Disability Snowsport UK’s vision is of mountains and ski slopes free from barriers, where disabled people can learn and take part alongside family, friends and peers.
Our Mission
To make snowsport accessible for everyone; regardless of disability, injury or experience. We work to remove the barriers to taking part so that disabled children and adults, and their families can enjoy the freedom, independence and the physical and wellbeing benefits of skiing and snowboarding, and related activities.
We do this by:

Providing expert adaptive teaching for individuals, families and groups across the UK

Providing holidays and activities in the UK and worldwide

Providing social and recreational skiing groups

Working with governing bodies, training organisations and partners to widen access, increase awareness and share knowledge
The Role
The role of the Trustee is to ensure the activities of the charity support its purpose and serve the interests of its beneficiaries. Trustees provide strategic guidance, governance and oversight of management, ensuring the organisation is accountable and acting as a ‘critical friend’ to the CEO. They are there to protect the charities assets both physical and reputational. They make sure resources are managed responsibly and that the charity is run sustainably.
Currently an active board of 12, we are forward planning for routine board member rotation in 2025. To complement our existing board and support our strategic direction, we are looking for up to four additional trustees to bring knowledge, skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

Lived Experience

This may include personal experience, of either being disabled or supporting someone with a disability e.g. a family member, caring for someone with a disability or working with people with disabilities.

You will have an understanding of issues and barriers around participation, access and inclusion and their impact on health and wellbeing. An understanding of the social model of disability is beneficial.
Strategic Organisational Development / HR
-
Experience across the range of HR activity including recruitment, performance management, reward, organisation culture and change management.

Experience of organisation design and development including board and senior leadership development and succession planning.

Board or committee experience with capability to take on the role of Chair of the Nomination, Remuneration and Governance Committee at a future date.
Legal Experience
-
Professional experience within a legal field. Experience in supporting organisations to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations and governing documents.

Ability to offer guidance and support compliance with charity law in the UK and other contractual obligations.
In addition to the above areas, we are looking for someone with skills to take on the role of company secretary and would be interested in hearing from individuals who feel they could take up this role.

Citrus Arts, a circus and outdoor arts organisation in Pontypridd in the South Wales valleys, is looking for new trustees to join our small yet mighty board.

We’re an arts charity with a vision of a flourishing creative community rooted in the ethos of the travelling circus
Citrus’ mission is to use the hands-on skills of circus and outdoor arts life to nurture citizenship and kindness in our neighbourhood, and to ignite creativity, connecting our community to self, to each other and to the land through hosting spectacular shared experiences.
What do we do?

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking new members to join our board and help us drive the company, ensuring that we work with determination and flair in everything we do.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who live in Hopkinstown or the local area, who are Welsh speakers and/ or who feel their lived experience is underrepresented in the arts or on charity boards.We are also interested in hearing from folks with experience in environmental sustainability, safeguarding, marketingor relationship building, staff management, data protection and/ or venue management. The most important thing, however, is that you are interested in the arts and have a desire and enthusiasm for helping our community and our young people to embrace creativity, citizenship and kindness.
A trustee is a person who takes care of the work of a charity, making sure it meets its charitable aims and carries out everything it does in a legal and professional way. Trustees have meetings every few months to check on, plan and discuss the work of the charity. Trustees do not get paid for being trustees, but they do get expenses for any travel etc.
Citrus’ board meetings are held around 4 times a year, usually on Zoom, and there are other Citrus creative events we love our board members to attend where possible. These can include screenings, gigs, performances, festival, workshops and much more. We aim to support our board with training and development needs as well as social opportunities.
Currently, Citrus Arts has 4 trustees and we’re looking for 3 or 4 more.

Endometriosis UK is the largest UK charity for those with endometriosis. Endometriosis UK works to:
- Provide support to those with endometriosis and their families and friends
- Provide clear, objective information about the condition and its treatments
- Raise awareness amongst health professionals and the general public about the condition
- Support research into endometriosis.
This is an unpaid role. Reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses will be paid.
Time commitment:
- five Trustee Board meetings a year, including preparation for meetings, reading papers etc; and attendance at an annual strategy day and AGM (held on the same days as Board meetings). Three meetings are held in person on London on a Saturday, with two meetings being virtual evening meetings.
- Trustees have the opportunity to take part in Board sub-groups and project groups to develop aspects of the organisations’ work. Current sub-groups include the Finance Committee and Diversity & Inclusion Sub-Group.
Trustees are also invited to attend Endometriosis UK events.
We are currently recruiting for ONE NEW TRUSTEE to join the board. We are particularly looking for significant experience of charity governance, management and best practice. Examples of how this might have been gained include having worked at a senior level in a charity, or previous trustee experience.
If you are keen to join the Endometriosis UK Board and don’t have this experience, there will be further opportunities over the next year as we will be recruiting for more trustees as Board members reach their maximum length of service. Keep an eye on our social media for more information.
Personal experience of living with, or having a close family member with, endometriosis, is vital on our Board. Whilst we look favourably on applications from those in the endometriosis community, we already have Trustees with first hand lived experience and new trustees do not need to have endometriosis.
We also particularly welcome applications from trustees from a range of backgrounds and experiences as part of our commitment to diversity.
