Community Energy Plus is Cornwall’s energy advice charity. For over 25 years we’ve been helping people to live in warmer, healthier homes, reduce fuel poverty, and transition to a low carbon future. Our work supports some of the most vulnerable households in Cornwall with trusted advice, practical support, and community-based energy solutions.
We are seeking up to three new Trustees to strengthen and diversify our Board. You’ll be joining a small, committed team of trustees providing strategic guidance to ensure the charity remains resilient and impactful as we respond to growing demand and climate urgency.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people with experience in:
- Marketing and communications
- Fundraising and grant funding
- Housing (including housing renewal across tenures)
- Community development and engagement
- Public health, social care or the health sector
- Law (especially renewable energy/low carbon technologies)
- Climate and sustainability (energy transition focus)
But above all, if you care about social and environmental justice and want to use your skills to make a difference in Cornwall, we’d love to hear from you.

At Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT) we want to create a Wilder Sussex – for the incredible variety of important species and habitats to be protected and restored so that wildlife cannot only survive but thrive. You don’t have to have previous experience of working in the charity sector or being a Trustee to apply for this role. Become a Trustee at The Chiltern Centre and help shape the future for young adults with disabilities
Location: Henley-on-Thames (Oxfordshire) – Board meetings typically in person, some remote options available
Remuneration: Voluntary (expenses reimbursed)
Time commitment: Approximately 4–6 board meetings per year + ad hoc support

About Us
The Chiltern Centre is a well-known and much-loved charity in Henley-on-Thames, supporting young adults with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
As we celebrate 21 years of impact, we’re preparing for our most ambitious project yet. With demand growing and a long waiting list, we’re expanding. We’ve been generously gifted an acre of land at Highlands Park, where we’ll build a new purpose-built facility designed specifically for young adults.

We’re Looking For:
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, however, we are particularly interested in people with the following experience:
- Legal Expertise
A qualified solicitor with general legal experience who can provide guidance on the kinds of issues small, people-focused charities typically face. - Building or Project Management
Someone with experience in building procurement, or large project management—skills that will help us successfully deliver our new facility over the next 5 years.
