About the role and you
The Communications Coordinator will support colleagues across the team to deliver engaging, accessible and effective communications that help prevent child sexual abuse. This is a rewarding role in a fast-paced, collaborative team, which will bring a greater awareness of our work and help to deliver real impact in the prevention of offline and online child sexual abuse across the UK.
You’ll play a vital role in supporting our digital channels, campaigns and content creation - from social media and newsletters to website updates and printed materials. Here are some of the skills we’re looking for and we’re happy to support the right candidate to grow and learn on the job:
- Confident using social media to reach different audiences and be able to design multimedia content that’s engaging and on-brand.
- A strong writer and editor, able to tailor content for different platforms and audiences - from short social posts to longer-form blogs and newsletters.
- Familiar with website content management systems (like WordPress) and ideally have some experience with paid digital campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta).
- Organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks and support colleagues across different projects and teams.

Croydon BME Forum, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is tackling ethnic inequalities in health and social care through this “Can You C Me Project”. The Macmillan Team offers personalised support, information, and referrals for individuals affected by cancer, including families and carers, across six South West London boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, and Richmond. Working within a team of three, you will be responsible for two boroughs, Croydon and Merton while supporting colleagues as needed.
As a Project Coordinator for the Can You C Me project, you will play a key role in engaging BME communities to enhance cancer awareness and support. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead outreach initiatives, community engagement, and the organisation of project activities across Southwest London. Each coordinator is assigned a specific set of boroughs, collaborating closely with community organisations, faith groups, healthcare providers, and individuals affected by cancer.

What the job involves
Our Events and Community Fundraising team raises vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK through a wide range of activities, events and challenges. Alongside our own flagship events, we recruit teams for some of the UK’s best-loved sporting events, including the TCS London Marathon, Great North Run and the London Landmarks Half Marathon. The team also organise our flagship walking event, March for Men, and our Tour de France themed cycling event, the Grand Depart Classic.
As Senior Sporting Events Executive, you’ll take the operational lead in delivering income across our third-party events programme, alongside project managing our team of London Marathon runners. You’ll manage at least one Events and Community Coordinator, supporting their development and ensuring the team delivers outstanding supporter care at every stage. You’ll also play a key role in spotting and developing new opportunities within the charity events market.
This is a hands-on role covering every aspect of event delivery; from leading project meetings, setting budgets and developing marketing plans, to crafting supporter communications, managing logistics and providing on-the-day event support. You’ll also oversee post-event processes such as remittance and thanking supporters, ensuring we maximise income and provide a first-class experience for every participant. The Senior Events and Membership Co-ordinator has key responsibility for supporting our Organisational Membership alongside the Events Manager and the Head of Commercial Operations to ensure work is covered by the wider team and to act as a central point of contact for partners and clients.
The Events Team is a key core team led by the Head of Commercial Operations, responsible for ensuring that support is provided to the QICN’s core programmes of work including the organisational membership, CPD events and various programmes.
The role will also include several additional co-ordinator duties as part of the wider team, which is expected to work flexibly to cover the requirements of the organisation.
The post holder will require the ability to work in a fast-paced response environment with a high level of efficiency and the ability to take initiative. Essential is the ability to manage, balance and prioritise several one-off tasks, while ensuring critical routine tasks still take place. While not a key prerequisite for the role, project management would be a skill that would be expected to be developed.
Responsibilities
• Acting as a key point of contact for existing and new membership enquiries
• Working with the Head of Commercial Operations to track key deliverables within the membership and ensuring the maintenance of accurate records.
• Ensuring the issuing of invoices and supporting the Director of Finance with chasing payments and tracking payments
• Writing and editing newsletters to improve membership engagement
• Ensuring appropriate updating of the CRM and events management software and liaising with the communications team.
• Tracking key statistics on member engagement and attendee numbers
• Overseeing the coordination and administration of several QICN professional networks.
• Supporting the Network Lead with outreach to potential network members.
• Preparation of online and in-person meetings (creating Zoom events, booking venues, setting online registration pages, sending out joining instructions, overseeing attendance list, preparation of materials, liaising with attendees and speakers, assistance on the day).
Person Specification
• Minimum of five years’ experience of working in a coordination, support or administrative environment
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders
• High level of digital literacy (MS Office, MailChimp, Eventbrite, Zoom)
• Experience of using CRM packages to manage, distribute, and update work
• Experience of organising events/workshops
• Experience of financial administration
• Experience in writing newsletter and promotional materials
• Detail oriented
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Highly organised and methodical approach to managing workload, including competing deadlines
• Able to work on own initiative and deliver timely, high-quality results

About the role
We are looking for a Lead Trainer to oversee our non-accredited courses covering England and Wales. Current training courses include topics such as responding to domestic abuse, employer training, DASH risk assessment, and MARAC chairing, among others. You will also contribute to the development of new training courses in response to emerging needs from specific commissioners, while actively monitoring sector developments to ensure our offerings remain relevant and impactful.
You will be part of the SafeLives Training and Development Team, with shared responsibility for developing, delivering and continuing a range of courses from within our suite. More broadly, you will work to ensure that SafeLives’ training programmes are in line with our strategic priorities and are of the highest quality, including course development and delivery with external partners and associate trainers.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Contract: Fixed term for 6 months, until 30th May 2026.
Location: Flexible (home, Bristol office or London office) with regular travel across UK.

Links Project: This initiative focuses on enabling adults with learning disabilities to engage in community activities through befriending, mentoring, and peer-led programs, all supported by our dedicated volunteers. As the Project Coordinator, you will support the key administrative tasks that keep this project running smoothly.
The Project Coordinator will support referrals with specific aims and objectives within the project scope – for example traveling to meet a friend, accessing sports, increasing confidence and ensuring isolation is reduced.
In your day-to-day role, you will be striving to build, expand and strengthen the project whilst working closely with the Project Lead ensuring all key performance indicators and any project targets are met. The role is responsible for onboarding individuals into the project as well as completing ongoing assessments and gathering feedback.

About you

- You hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
- You can work flexibly across locations in Essex to fulfil the requirements of the role.
