This role will support the development and delivery of our services and resources for young people born with a cleft lip and/or palate. Working closely with the Engagement & Services team to help us achieve our mission. 

The Youth Engagement Coordinator will sit within the Engagement & Services Team. They will join a friendly and supportive team of seven colleagues who, together, are responsible for the delivery of CLAPA’s adult, family, children and young people and involvement services. The post holder will develop and deliver services for eight- to seventeen-year-olds, which will enable the young cleft community to connect, share experiences and access guidance and emotional support. Shaping what support looks like, creating positive impact and strengthening reach, this new role for CLAPA will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people born with a cleft.

The Basics

• Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 depending on experience
• Reporting to: Programme Manager
• Location: Merseyside & Stockport, with daily travel to delivery sites and some home working
• Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (including up to 2 evenings per week until 7pm)

We are a place-based organisation and are keen to build a team rooted in the communities we serve. We are therefore looking for someone who lives in Liverpool/Merseyside.

About the Role

The Senior Programme Coordinator is a skilled practitioner who leads by example, delivering high-quality interventions to young people while providing day-to-day oversight of regional delivery, with support from the Programme Manager.

This role combines hands-on delivery with operational coordination, team leadership, and partnership management. You will play a key role in ensuring programmes are delivered safely, effectively, and to a consistently high standard across schools, alternative provisions, and community settings.

Alongside direct delivery, you will coordinate regional timetables and logistics, line manage and support delivery staff, and build strong relationships with schools, partners, funders, and stakeholders across the region.

This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who is passionate about supporting young people experiencing school exclusion or other challenging circumstances, while also leading and developing a team to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality interventions for young people in schools, alternative provisions, and community settings
• Coordinate regional delivery timetables, staffing, and logistics to ensure smooth programme delivery
• Line manage and support regional delivery staff through coaching, mentoring, and regular supervision
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, partners, funders, and external stakeholders
• Lead on safeguarding, behaviour management, and wellbeing across all regional activity
• Support the planning and delivery of holiday programmes, career taster days, and regional events
• Monitor programme impact through accurate reporting, data collection, and evaluation
• Champion the Dallaglio RugbyWorks culture and values, modelling high standards across the team

About You

You will have at least three years’ experience delivering interventions for young people facing exclusion or other significant challenges, alongside experience leading or supporting teams within a youth work, sport, or education environment.

You will be confident building trusted relationships with young people and able to engage and support them using a trauma-informed and relationship-based approach.

Essential Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience delivering interventions for young people experiencing school exclusion or similar challenges
• Level 2 qualification in Sport Coaching (or equivalent)
• Level 2 Youth Work qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience of line management or team leadership
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car
• Flexibility to travel daily across the region and work occasional evenings

Job Title: Programme Co-ordinator & Facilitator

Location: Based within HMP Altcourse, Fazakerley, Liverpool. Step Free access is available at this service. You may be expected to travel to other services as required, including to Central London Central Office and for in-person meetings held off site. 

Salary: £32,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:45 - 17:15. Please be aware that daily working hours may vary, ranging from 7.5 up to 10 hours, depending on programme delivery requirements. Flexible working may be available, with potentially 1 - 2 days working from home depending on programme delivery. You may be required to work outside these hours as per participant and service requirements.

About the Role

We're hiring a Programmes Coordinator & Facilitator to join our Safe Ground team based in HMP Altcourse. The role involves delivering arts based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation.

In this role, you’ll help set up, deliver  and review arts‑based, therapeutically informed programmes that support men in custody with personal development, family relationships and rehabilitation. You’ll work directly with programme participants, using creative group sessions and person centred approaches to meet individual and group needs. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in the Visitors’ Centre, prison staff and wider teams to make sure our programmes run safely, smoothly and with care. As part of Safe Ground’s flagship Family Service, you’ll be joining a reflective and supportive team of facilitators, counsellors and family support staff. Together, you’ll help strengthen family relationships, support positive change and contribute to a more compassionate, trauma informed culture within the prison.

You will be required to undertake additional training and vetting as per the requirements of the prison. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Facilitate and deliver arts‑based, therapeutically informed group programmes for men in custody.
• Create safe, trauma‑informed and inclusive group spaces that support personal development, rehabilitation and family relationships.
• Coordinate programme set‑up, participant recruitment and delivery, working closely with colleagues and prison staff.
• Adapt sessions to meet different learning needs, abilities and backgrounds.
• Build positive, professional relationships with participants, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Monitor participant engagement and wellbeing, responding appropriately to safeguarding or risk concerns.
• Collect feedback and contribute to programme evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR, safeguarding and organisational policies.

What we are looking for:

• Previous professional or lived experience supporting people who require personal development, rehabilitation and family relationships, an arts‑based, therapeutically informed group programmes for men in custody.
• Demonstrated experience within a prison, criminal justice, or similar setting.
• Skilled in applying a background in arts education, dramatherapy, applied theatre, or education to work creatively and effectively with individuals and groups.
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, including through the use of therapeutic groupwork techniques.
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and participants.
