We are now recruiting for a Head of Building & Facilities to join our team! In this crucial role, you will have overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of the building and ensuring the appropriate provision of facilities at JW3, including services and equipment. You will also lead on the management of contracts with outsourced suppliers, including those responsible for building maintenance, IT and telephones, security, and cleaning. This role reports into and will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance & Operations.
As a key part of our management team, you will directly contribute to our mission of creating open and welcoming Jewish spaces that bring different people together, strengthen identities, and build community through arts, culture, education, and social action.
Some of the core duties include:
- Ensure the building – both externally and internally – is maintained and serviced to a high standard in accordance with agreed budgets
- Oversee and regularly review the work conducted by contractors providing specific services to JW3
- Consult with specialist professional contractors to oversee the development and implementation of longer term (5-10 year) plans for building lifecycle replacements and improvements, including energy efficiency and environmental matters
- Take responsibility for the building’s health and safety policy, its implementation, monitoring and reporting
- Ensure the building remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulation and licences for buildings and health & safety at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
This role requires someone who has experience managing research teams within the polling industry. 5+ years of experience in market research, polling, or political analysis is essential for this role.

By partnering with primary schools, we support thousands of families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. About the Role
The Marketing and Sales Lead will be the driving force behind our marketing and sales programmes for schools, bringing their creative flair, marketing expertise and sales understanding to help Learning with Parents engage more schools across the UK.
We see there being three strands of marketing to this role: awareness raising marketing to both cold and warm contacts that drives attendance to events such as webinars and our parental engagement forum, sales marketing to new schools that drives sales of our programmes and marketing that supports the schools team to develop deeper school partnerships and grows the impact of our programmes in schools.
Alongside this marketing we also would like this role to shepherd our schools through the sales pipeline ready for onboarding.

Susan’s Farm is an energetic organisation delivering a broad range of activities. Our charitable purpose is to transform people’s lives through learning and therapeutic experiences on an organic working livestock farm. After six years as a charity, and following a recent governance and staffing review, we are now seeking to appoint a dedicated managing director to oversee all aspects of the charity’s work. The Managing Director will join a small but committed staff team and report to enthusiastic board of trustees.
Susan’s Farm is based in Houghton, a small village 3 miles from Carlisle and delivers its educational activities on site as well as on the other half of our farm near Armathwaite and for a neighbouring farmer at Aglionby. We have a small learning centre at Houghton and also work closely with Cumbria Wildlife Trust whose Northern office is on land adjacent to our farm.
We have three main strands of delivery; primary school visits, alternative provision placements and care farmer placements and are certified by Social Farms & Gardens. We are a beef and sheep Organic and Pasture for Life certified Farm. We also have hens and geese and some horticultural activity. Our farm produce is sold direct to the customer.
Susan’s Farm is a registered charity converting from a CIC in 2019. Before that our founder, Susan Aglionby ran educational activities on the farm over a period of more than 20 years. Over the last six years considerable effort has been devoted to professionalising the organisation and our delivery work and we are no ready for the next stage.
ROLE FOCUS:
To support, manage and provide dynamic leadership to Susan’s Farm and its staff and services. Working with the Board of Trustees to ensure that Susan’s Farm meets its requirements, as a charity in delivering services, and to maintain its reputation as a national and local leader in working to provide services to its beneficiaries through the experience of a farm. To further develop the organisation and the services it offers promoting the charity’s principles.

- Lead the implementation of the strategy, ensuring that KPIs are met / action is taken to course correct, and provide day-to-day guidance and long-term strategic direction for all employees within the College
- Oversee the College’s existing and new products and services, ensuring that they are of the highest standard, and are informed by research and impact evaluation
Leadership
- Advise on the education content of external communications
- Provide overall accountability and leadership in a range of areas including membership, publishing, content, research, Chartered status and other professional learning and accreditation
- Report to the Council as required and be the Executive Leadership Team representative for relevant committees, and ensure they have the reports and data needed to make informed decisions for the College
- Provide leadership and development of individuals within the team, including setting clear objectives, responsibilities, performance standards and development goals and managing these accordingly – through informal coaching and feedback and formal discussions including regular one to ones and appraisals
About You
The Director of Education will be passionate about the purpose, vision and mission of the Chartered College of Teaching, including the growth of membership and accreditation, and the importance of high-quality education and research content. You will understand the importance of the College taking a balanced position (beyond ideology) and be able to link our existing content to our members’ needs.
