IRC UK
IRC UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its global headquarters in New York. Our team in the UK works to raise profile, deliver policy and practice change, and increase funding to help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in the UK.
In Europe, the IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm. 

The Purpose of the Role
IRC’s External Relations (ER) department brings together Fundraising, Communications and Policy & Advocacy functions. With the aim to raise money, awareness and influence for crisis-affected populations worldwide, the department combines knowledge and expertise across multiple national markets.  
 
The IRC fundraising teams are comprised of colleagues and teams working in the USA, UK, Germany, Sweden and Korea as well as emerging markets delivering direct marketing, content, account management, philanthropy, board liaison, corporate as well as trust and foundation partnerships to support IRC’s national fundraising strategies. 
 
The IRC’s private fundraising capability in the UK has grown significantly over the past five years. Ambitious growth plans are in place to deliver increasing income from the private sector as part of an exciting global External Relations strategy.  
 
The Director of UK Mass Markets is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Mass Markets team in the UK and for securing long-term sustainable income for the IRC through individual donor acquisition, retention and supporter care. You will lead and develop a high-performing team by growing mass marketing audiences and income, developing exciting and targeted campaigns, identifying opportunities for product, channel and audience diversification, and championing UX and a supporter centric fundraising model. The Director will also serve as a key partner to the UK Executive Director as they facilitate cross-team collaboration, accountability and success among all private fundraising teams in the UK (Philanthropy, Global Corporate Partnerships, Foundations & Trusts and Mass Markets). The Director will play a leadership role in IRC UK more widely as a member of the UK Senior Management Team (UKSMT). The UKSMT is collectively responsible for achieving the cross-functional goals of IRC UK’s strategy and actively fostering an inclusive workplace at IRC UK.
 
This role is responsible for:  
I.  Securing significant and sustainable funding in the UK for IRC’s work 
II.  Leading strategic activities that support IRC’s mass market fundraising presence including campaigns for the End-of-Year, World Refugee Day and emergencies

Scope and Authority 
This position has responsibility for delivering the UK Mass Market team strategy and targets and Supporter Care within the overarching Global Mass Markets strategy and UK Strategic Plan. 

Responsibility for Resources:
This post will have responsibility for three direct reports (1x Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager, 1 x Retention Marketing Manager, 1 x Donor Services Assistant) and a substantial expenditure budget. The role is part of the global Mass Markets team and is matrix managed by the Executive Director in the UK and the Global Vice President of Mass Markets.

Key Accountabilities

·  Aligned to the overall Global External Relations Strategy, develop, implement, monitor and report on IRC UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement strategy. 
·  Lead fundraising campaigns (acquisition, retention, mid-level) that deliver unrestricted income to enable IRC’s work. Channels include e-mail, direct mail, inserts, Facebook advertising, new forms of social media, and adwords, as well as telemarketing etc.
·  Develop a supporter engagement programme that focusses on developing and deepening long-term relationships and drives retention rates.
·  Develop and deliver an innovation programme, ensuring fundraising products and activity are at the forefront of the UK sector and allow IRC to cut through to new audiences.
·  Deliver outstanding supporter services, ensuring supporter interactions are dealt with professionally and appropriately.
·  Contribute strongly to overall Global External Relations strategy and budget development during the budgeting and investment request process.  
·  Lead, inspire, develop and performance manage the UK Mass Markets team.
·  Ensure effective collaboration between the UK-based leads of the Foundations and Trusts, Global Corporate Partnerships, and Mass Markets teams, in executing comprehensive, aligned donor engagement strategies across the UK. 
·  Collaborate with other UK leaders on the UK Senior Management Team, holding collective accountability for achieving the goals of the UK strategy and advising on the wider management of IRC UK to support those goals.  
·  Reporting to the UK Board of Trustees, including presentations to the full Board and the External Relations Committee as required. 
·  Representing IRC in the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Fundraising Directors group.
·  Be the senior contact for all mass marketing partnerships with third party supplies.  
·  Act as senior voice in cross-market working groups and committees. 
·  Network and build external profile of the IRC UK Mass Markets team by attending relevant fundraising and sector events, and building other external stakeholder relationships. 
·  Input into effective risk management of mass marketing income by accurately assessing opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses on a regular basis, and iterating the programme based on results.  
·  Accurately forecast, monitor and report on income and expenditure budget lines. 
·  Keep up to date with sector developments in individual giving, digital fundraising to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments. 
·  Work closely with Mass Markets team in other national markets (i.e. Korea, Germany, Sweden, US) and the International Operations team to ensure all engagement is coordinated, and where appropriate, synchronised.  

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

·  Driven, motivated and proactive with a solutions-based attitude and resilient in the face of setbacks. 
·  Proven ability to manage, meet and monitor fundraising budgets and Key Performance Indicators. 
·  Excellent organisational skills, especially the ability to manage a complex, varied and substantial workload. 
·  Ability to understand legal frameworks and requirements, and implications of decisions in the best interest of the charity. 
·  Excellent verbal and written English and the ability to produce well designed and high-quality proposals and reports.
·  Institute of Fundraising, Cass or comparable qualifications would be an advantage.  

Experience:
·  Extensive experience of individual giving (or mass marketing) and digital fundraising and ideally, mid value and legacy giving, within a large or medium global charity, including a proven track record of both acquisition and retention.**  
·  Launching new channels and products with success. 
·  Comprehensive understanding and experience of audience and donor segmentation, analytical modelling such as LTV and use of insights to drive strategy and performance.** 
·  Experience and understanding of creative process and relationship with brand identity through different channels and audiences. 
·  Proven track record of success in a leadership, line management, recruitment, performance management and talent retention.**
·  Demonstrated history of being an empowering and supportive manager to front-line fundraisers.

Purpose of This Role:

This role sits within NASP’s Communications Team. You will play a key role in developing and delivering NASP’s communications strategy, which aims to: 

1. Spread the word about social prescribing among health and voluntary sector professionals and equip them with the training and resources they need.

Inter Mediate is a London-based peacemaking charity supporting confidential negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. Now in its second decade of operations, Inter Mediate is seeking a Senior Associate to join our small, specialised team. The post is based in London with frequent travel to South and East Asia.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for working with the relevant Project Directors to support the management and delivery of existing Inter Mediate conflict resolution and dialogue projects, with a geographic focus on South and East Asia. This will crucially entail managing complex logistical arrangements in relation to high level and sensitive meetings and dialogues, engaging with senior interlocutors in a credible and professional way and dealing with sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.

• Supporting and implementing Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio of peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives;
• Building and managing relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in South and East Asia;
• Identifying and developing entry points for new projects;
• Monitoring and analysing political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work;
• Preparing project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collecting evidence of project impact.

Our Fundraising Team is formed of three fundraising strands, an established Trust & Foundation (T&F) grants programme, a developing high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) programme and a digital fundraising stream raising income from the public.

We are seeking a Trusts & Major Gifts Senior Fundraising Manager to expertly cultivate and steward T&F and HNWI relationships to secure new and existing funding opportunities.

Position

As part of the Fundraising Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving ShareAction’s fundraising strategy and enabling the organisation to deliver its mission. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead your own portfolio of high-value trusts and foundations, securing major multi-year partnerships that underpin the organisation’s work. You will also play a key role in developing our major gifts programme, cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals and bringing six- and seven-figure philanthropic support on board.

You will be building on the momentum of our fundraising growth, playing a vital role in supporting the organisation’s sustainability and enabling us to deliver even greater impact in a ‘transition’ year where we are launching our new five-year strategy.

A typical week will involve researching and identifying new prospects, managing and deepening relationships with existing donors, and developing compelling propositions aligned with ShareAction’s five-year strategy. You will collaborate with colleagues across teams, ensuring a coordinated and strategic approach to fundraising and keeping senior staff and trustees informed of pipeline and cultivation plans. Line management and development of the Major Donor Manager is a critical element of the role, providing coaching, guidance, and oversight to deliver against the major gifts strategy.

You will also attend funder and prospect meetings in London, deliver excellent stewardship to retain and grow support, and monitor activity and track progress using Salesforce and project management tools. Staying up to date with sector trends and philanthropy developments, you will ensure ShareAction maintains a forward-looking and innovative approach to fundraising.

What you’ll bring to the team

We want to hear from you if you have significant experience in fundraising from trusts and foundations and major gifts, with a proven track record of securing six-figure, multi-year gifts and managing long-term philanthropic relationships. You’ll be highly skilled at building and sustaining networks with senior internal and external stakeholders, including trustees, programme directors, CEOs, and family offices, and you’ll be confident operating at the highest levels to inspire support for ShareAction’s mission.

This role would suit someone who enjoys developing compelling fundraising propositions, identifying and cultivating new opportunities, and working strategically to grow income streams. You will be an excellent relationship manager with sophisticated communication skills, persuasive writing ability, and the capacity to influence and inspire colleagues and donors alike. Exceptional organisational skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and strategic insight are essential, as is the ability to line-manage, coach, and develop the Major Donor Manager to achieve ambitious goals.

While experience with international fundraising, campaigning NGOs, or financial sector knowledge is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates who bring transferable skills, creativity, and a passion for advancing responsible investment.

We have a hybrid working policy in place, and the Fundraising Team meets monthly in the London office. As this role involves regular meetings with London-based donors and prospects, there is an expectation that you will be able to attend the office or stakeholder meetings on average 4–6 times a month.

Battersea is currently undergoing a significant transformation programme (known as Launchpad) to deliver real change in the way we work with, utilise, and learn from data. This role, working with CRM support colleagues, will be responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance needs for the new Salesforce Lightning CRM and other related applications as they are launched. They will work closely with system users to efficiently resolve tickets received to the helpdesk and proactively investigate and troubleshoot issues to provide root cause.

We are seeking a Community Development Officer to lead a major in-progress project improving recognition, support, and care for people with smell and taste disorders at a local level across England. 

This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery. 

Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed. 

The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. Together, you will ensure that more people affected by smell and taste disorders access the information, support, and recognition they need, while continuing to raise awareness of these often-unrecognised sensory impairments.

The Role

The Finance & Operations Coordinator is a central position in a small, purpose-driven team. The role provides direct support to the Managing Director and works closely with the Finance Committee to ensure that the charity’s financial and operational systems are well managed, compliant and effective.

This is a broad and hands-on role that involves managing day-to-day UK operations, supporting financial oversight, ensuring smooth coordination with our in-country partners, and keeping our administrative framework in excellent order.

You will be responsible for maintaining clear systems, meeting key reporting deadlines, and ensuring that the organisation runs efficiently behind the scenes. The role suits someone who is proactive, reliable, and comfortable managing a wide variety of tasks with independence and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Finance and Reporting

• Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, reconciling transactions and processing payments for invoices, payroll and expenses.

• Allocate receipts and donations to the correct funds and ensure supporting documentation is filed systematically.

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC.

• Collate quarterly financial and narrative reports from Moroccan partner NGOs and follow up on missing information.

• Support the Managing Director and Finance Committee with budget preparation, analysis and audit documentation.

• Ensure that annual accounts and financial reports are submitted in line with Charity Commission requirements.

Operations and Administration

• Oversee and improve shared filing systems (Teams/SharePoint), ensuring that all administrative and financial records are accurate, up to date and easy to access.

• Manage the main email inbox, responding to or redirecting correspondence promptly and professionally.

• Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and annual project visits in Morocco.

• Support the Managing Director with scheduling, documentation, and general administrative follow-up.

• Monitor compliance tasks, ensuring that all Charity Commission and internal governance requirements are up to date and properly documented.

Donor and Partner Relations

• Act as a first point of contact for donors, supporter schools, hotels and individuals.

• Process and acknowledge donations, issue receipts and maintain accurate donor records.

• Proactively follow up with existing and potential supporters, helping to build and maintain relationships.

• Liaise with Moroccan partners to ensure that project and financial reporting are on track and shared on time.

Governance and Oversight

• Support the Finance Committee and Managing Director with preparation for trustee and committee meetings, including gathering reports and ensuring actions are followed up.

• Assist with external audits and reviews, coordinating with UK auditors and Moroccan partners as needed.

• Maintain oversight of risk management, safeguarding and health and safety documentation, ensuring relevant information is filed and accessible.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.
