Family Fund is seeking a dynamic Statutory Funding Manager to lead efforts to grow our income from government and statutory funders. About you
You’ll have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding income targets from statutory income sources, have significant experience or researching and writing tenders and the commercial ability to understand, set and meet financial targets.
To be successful in this role you will have a positive approach to business development and a detailed understanding of the statutory funding landscape and how policy development links to funding.You’ll need to have creative and lateral thinking skills to identify and expand on opportunities to meet government needs through the capacity and skills of the organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that volunteers are adequately trained, for recruiting appropriate schools for them to visit, and all the admin and reporting that supports the programme.
We are looking for someone who can ‘own the programme’, is committed to improving our processes and the efficiency of delivery, with strong line management skills, and a commitment to the professional development for the Corporate Volunteering Programmes Assistant.
National Numeracy is based in Brighton, East Sussex, but we are offering significant remote/hybrid and flexible working with this role. The Drive Partnership, formed by Respect, SafeLives and Social Finance, is working to transform the national response to perpetrators of domestic abuse. We work to end domestic abuse and protect victims by disrupting, challenging, and changing the behaviour of those who are causing harm. Together we have developed the Drive Project to address a gap in work with high-harm, high-risk perpetrators of domestic abuse. We also work to advocate for systems and policy change- to develop sustainable, national systems that respond more effectively to all perpetrators of domestic abuse.
In July of this year the Home Office announced a £53m investment over the next four years to enable the Drive Project to roll out across England and Wales. To end domestic abuse, we must address the source of the problem – the perpetrator. This funding will make a huge difference to our efforts to support survivors, by holding perpetrators to account, stopping them from causing further harm and giving them the chance to change.
The Drive Head of Programmes will play a central role in maintaining strategic oversight of internal operations, including project planning and risk management across workstreams, and partner coordination across the Drive Partnership. This is a senior leadership position providing operational leadership, staff management, and cross-partner coordination to ensure workstreams within the Drive Partnership function effectively, efficiently and in in alignment with the Drive Partnership’s core mission.
The role will report directly to the Drive Director, form part of the Drive Senior Management team and work alongside the Drive Deputy Director and other Senior Leads to embed a high-performing, values-led culture across The Drive Partnership.

This role is a full time position and reports to the Director of People + Operations.
This is a mission critical role that helps us build seamless, smart, and compliant operations for our organisation. The overall remit of this role is to:

Support on key aspects of financial management across budget development and forecasting, monthly reporting, and managing our external finance partners.

Managing domestic and international payroll via our employment partners, and managing vendors and contracting.

Support on general operations across systems and software administration, and compliance practices.
Financial Management + Forecasting

Support work on annual and multi-year budget forecasts, based on programming needs and organizational trajectory
-
Develop and maintain budget forecasting tools for departments to manage their annual budgets, to help inform strategic decision-making
-
Manage organization’s cash flow to ensure financial stability across restricted and unrestricted funding
-
Allocate staff, program, and operational costs to appropriate grants and work with finance partners to create budget systems to assign and track that spend

Oversee work of our external bookkeeping and accounting partner–Jitasa–and serve as their main point person

Develop cost types and appropriate coding for all expenses, and manage correct use of them
-
Ensure all expense policies and internal controls are in line with best practices, up to date, clear and accessible to staff, and consistently referenced
Payroll + Vendor Payment
-
Oversee and execute payroll cycles for all employees and contractors, through our domestic and international PEO, and vendor management platform

Oversee relevant local and state taxes and reporting, in line with US PEO requirements

Responsible for payroll administration such as new hire documentation and processing standard payroll on a monthly basis and any payroll changes

Manage contracting process, liaising with outside legal counsel when required

Get vendors, contractors and new contracts set up in our contract management system

Run due diligence processes in accordance with our due diligence policy

Ensure and execute reimbursements for all employees in line with expense policies

Prepare and issue any relevant tax documents for vendors and contractors
Funder Engagement + Reporting

Work with the fundraising team to develop programme budgets for proposals

Manage financial reporting requirements during and at the end of each grant cycle

Review draft donor agreements prior to legal, and set up grants in Climate Catalyst systems to allocate staff time and expenses accordingly
Annual Reporting + Compliance

Support the Board Treasurer, CEO, and Jitasa in coordination of annual reporting to relevant authorities

Support annual audit preparation by serving as the internal coordinator for all requirements and documents as requested by auditors
Business Operations + Additional Support

Manage all software and team systems, including access, permissions, and renewals

Ensure all systems and data are managed in compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation

Ensure team data protection policies are up to date, relevant and adhered to

Serve as the main point of contact to Climate Catalyst’s insurance broker and manage insurance policies – ensuring all policies are clearly accessible and paid in a timely fashion.

Fill out and maintain all relevant lobbying documentation for the US, Europe, and any other relevant jurisdictions

Ensure that all policies, trademarking, and terms of service are up to date on our website

Support in material development for Board budget presentations

Manage existing technology and equipment inventory and procure new equipment for all new hires and support in onboarding and offboarding as required

The Initiatives and Partnerships Manager plays a key role in the Trust’s Initiatives and Partnerships Team. The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Trust’s projects, manage team members and on occasion support external and partnership projects. The role will focus on growing the value of funding from large trusts and foundations globally, as well as from corporate foundations and institutional funders via consortium partnerships with larger conservation actors.
The role will oversee grant and contract management with existing organisational and institutional partnerships, as well as grow this portfolio through developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities, finding creative ways to secure visibility and first meetings, developing relationships, compelling funding applications and ensuring strong contract management oversight.
The role will lead a team of two, work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues based in the US and UK to secure visibility with and develop strong long-term partnerships with new Trusts and Foundations; and work closely with colleagues in Kenya to ensure strong project delivery and grant management. Responsibilities include:
- Lead the implementation of the Trusts & Foundations (T&Fs) programme with a particular focus on growing the portfolio of large T&Fs in the USA, UK and European markets;
- Work with fundraising colleagues across priority markets and with communications colleagues, using innovative and proactive approaches to business development and relationship building to unlock visibility opportunities and develop relationships with new prospects; in order to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value funding opportunities.
- Continue to oversee the current ‘programme funding’ portfolio which includes existing institutional funding partnerships and corporate foundation relationships in Kenya, ensuring that ongoing and new opportunities where they exist are capitalised on.
- Collaborate closely with and provide technical expertise to Ol Pejeta’s Project Implementation function in Kenya to develop and embed ‘programme funding’ systems, policies, processes, to ensure that the organisation works to the highest standards in grant management;

Key Activities
- Support the Chief Fundraising Officer with overall strategy development, implementation and adaptation;

- Lead and coordinate proposal development, including budgeting, with programme teams and finance;
- Collaborate with Ol Pejeta’s communications and marketing department to ensure communication activities appeal to donor interests, promote our partnerships and help to position Ol Pejeta as a partner of choice;
- Research and share trends and intelligence on T&Fs, and develop relationships that strategically position the organisation to mobilise resources from new and existing donors.
Support effective grant & risk management and compliance
- Support the development and implementation of improved business policies to facilitate improved management of and accountability for T&F funding and other larger institutional partnerships;
- Provide quality assurance and technical backstopping on reporting and general compliance, in line with organisational and donor requirements;
- Guide the negotiation of strategic grants/contracts to ensure the organisation signs up to appropriate contractual requirements;
- Advise on the interpretation and application of donor rules, regulations, processes and procedures;
- Provide guidance and capacity building on grant cycle management to colleagues across the organisation.
People Management, Financial Management and Departmental contributions
- Provide inductions to staff across the organisation on T&Fs and institutional funding opportunity;
- Build, motivate and effectively collaborate with teams remotely;
- Conduct probationary reviews and annual performance management reviews for direct line management staff;
- Support the Chief Fundraising Officer to have oversight of the team budget lines;
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the global fundraising team based in different geographical locations

- Act within the parameters set by the organisation on financial policies and procedures.
Capacity Building and Knowledge Management
- Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration to strengthen fundraising and grant management skills across the organisation;
- Oversee the development and maintenance of information systems and tools for sharing donor policies and guidelines, funding opportunities and best practice across the organisation;
- Keep pace with international developments and engage with other INGOs to keep abreast of opportunities and global trends in T&F fundraising.
Education, Language & Qualifications
- Bachelors or equivalent in a relevant field preferably Fundraising / International Development;
- Excellent verbal and written communication with fluency in English;
- Language skills in Swahili and German advantageous.
Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience
- Relevant experience working in an international NGO or philanthropy environment with diverse workforce;
- Experience in Trusts & Foundation fundraising across international markets;
- Demonstrated experience cultivating and managing relationships with trusts and foundation donors (or others) to secure six figure grants;
- Substantial experience cultivating and managing donor and stakeholder relationships;
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrable proactivity in business development;
- Strong technical proposal writing and budget skills;
- Strong ability to manage staff and influence team members remotely;
- Ability to manage and facilitate complex projects and processes;
- Experience working on the African continent with a deep knowledge of conservation and community development;
- Willingness to travel internationally as required;
- Willingness to be on call for donor enquiries out of hours.
Desirable Knowledge, skills and Experience
- Tendering and project management experience;
- Knowledge of conservation finance including the biodiversity credit market;
- Personal network of contacts and relationships in T&Fs;
