Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

Volunteer Charity Shop Assistant responsibilities

•  Helping customers in the shop find what they need.
• Accepting donations of items and money from the public.
• Processing sales through the till and card machine, including Gift Aid.
• Sorting through donated items to determine what we can sell.
• Preparing donated items for sale by steaming and hanging items.
• Merchandising stock on the shop floor.
• Creating attractive shop window displays.

Job Purpose

One Place London is a community interest company located in West London, engaged in Acting for Film and Music Recording workshops for young people aged 14-25, unemployed or at risk of getting involved in crime. As a key member of the Engagement Team working at Youth & Community Centres in Ealing and West London, this post will work alongside the Sound Engineer, Film Director or both to deliver Song-writing / music recording workshops and Acting for Film Workshops repectively, for young people aged 14-25.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, promote and deliver engaging Songwriting workshop, Acting for film workshop or both for young people.

• Support, mentor, coach and ‘walk alongside’ individuals in their pursuit of independence and community cohesion.

• Undertake risk assessments and support planning interviews with new participants.

• Engage third parties to deliver support and activities to young people.

• To act as an advocate for young people and to engage partner agencies and services appropriate to the young people’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrable experience of programme delivery in youth, adult or community-based service

Animal Fosterer

As an animal fosterer, you would be supporting the RSPCA in providing either our cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, or other small furries with the safety of your home whilst tending to their welfare needs such as feeding and grooming. In addition to this, by providing a temporary loving environment, you will play a crucial role in their wellbeing and socialisation, which will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming.

Once everything is in place, the animal center will guide you through the fostering process and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment, food, and veterinary care for your foster. The RSPCA is also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us.

Whilst our animals are in your foster care, you will:

• Provide them with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
• Feed, water, and groom them in line with our advice.
• Transport them to any veterinary appointments if required.
• Provide them with your time and patience.
• Help us spread the word about the animals in your care so they might find their forever home quicker.
• Playing and cuddles are also a must!

What we are looking for in a volunteer Fosterer

• Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience caring for animals.
• Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
• For their wellbeing, the whole family should be on board with fostering an animal.
• Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be so, please let us know if this is the case).
• You will need to live in our branches area.
• You will need to be able to pick up supplies from our office in Eastcote and transport animals to the vets for routine and emergency appointments.

Do you want to co-ordinate vegan volunteering?

As an Organiser, you would be the caretaker of your local area. This is the more time-intensive role but so rewarding! Tasks would be emailed to you directly every month by our Volunteering Coordinator, who would be your main point of contact here at The Vegan Society. It would then be your job to send out the task to Advocates in your local area and get feedback from them. You'll also be able to ask your Advocates for help with any stalls and lobbying. Every Organiser receives an outreach pack, including a table runner, leaflets and banners. We make sure you are fully supported with an Organisers' WhatsApp group for socialising and ideas. We also have a monthly gathering on video.

What does the Organiser role involve? 

Every month, you will be sent a collection of tasks to choose from. We create these from our programme of campaigns. You would be the point of contact for Advocates in your area, sharing these tasks and coordinating activities, such as stalls and lobbying councillors. We will provide you with a campaign toolkit and be in regular contact with you to ensure you have everything you need. You will also be invited to our private Facebook group and WhatsApp chat.

We would expect you to provide any updates from your group and give feedback on each task. It's vital that we measure the impact that we are having, in terms of positive conversations and leaflets handed out. You can also give us ideas you have for future outreach tasks or campaigning. Many Organisers find a huge sense of satisfaction, improvement in self-esteem and enjoy the social side of volunteering in this role.

You will also be responsible for welcoming new Advocates in your area. We will let you know when somebody new applies, and you will help them to get involved with any activities. As the main contact for Advocates, this role does require some awareness of safeguarding and data protection procedures and policy. There will be full training on your role in this, as well as a handbook and ongoing guidance and support. 

What training and support is available? 

There will be a full induction to the role, with a gradual introduction of new tasks and responsibilities. To start with, we will provide an initial training session to cover the basics of community organising, communication skills and event planning. This will be done remotely from wherever you are. Along with this, we will provide a full pack of resources that covers a range of work that we do. 

From there, there will be regular conversations and reviews, where we can discuss other training requirements. Staff are always available to Organisers for any questions, via phone or email.

How much time do I need to invest?

You should be able to commit around two days a month to carry out actions, and this is usually spread out across the month. We also expect timely responses to emails. When a new Advocate applies to work with you, we would like them to be contacted within seven days via email.

Providing a confidential non-judgemental listening ear to Residents and Staff. Supporting those wishing to develop their spiritual journey from a Christian perspective. The role will be based across one of our hostels in Watford, Borehamwood, Bishop's Stortford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield or High Wycombe, 

Activities include:

• Proactively engaging with Residents and staff to build safe relationships and trust
• Offering a ‘listening ear’ to all and giving emotional support
• Sensitively discerning when to offer prayer and support from a Christian perspective, and when to use faith based language
• Be inclusive and welcoming to people of all religious faiths and none, referring people to other faith communities as appropriate
• Working alongside support staff, volunteers & local agencies
• Maintaining records of support and feeding back concerns about Resident welfare to Staff/Line Manager.
• Attend regular volunteer team meetings
• Being proactive in seeking spiritual and emotional support for your own benefit as this is a challenging role.

Additional activities could include:

• Facilitating group work for example: Retreat Programme, Bible Study, prayer or Mental Health Support.
• Welcoming new Residents by phone or in person
• Leading or helping with Chaplaincy lead events: Easter/Christmas activities, Remembrance Services

About Children With Voices

Children With Voices (CWV) is a grassroots non-profit organisation dedicated to improving

the lives of children and families through community-driven programs. We run holiday clubs,

healthy lifestyle education, and intervention projects for children aged 5–11 to combat

childhood obesity, antisocial behaviour, and gang involvement.

The Role – Board Member (Volunteer)

About Our Service... Hestia supports survivors of domestic abuse in London and the Southeast.

Our team provide support in 31 refuges across 11 London Boroughs. Last year Hestia supported 4,000 people to recover from the trauma of domestic abuse.

Anyone can be affected by domestic abuse, regardless of gender, age, race, or identity. Domestic abuse is not always physical violence, and it can take many forms including emotional, sexual abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men are affected by domestic abuse.

What you will be doing

• Coordinate and set up a weekly dance class
• Inspire and motivate individuals to participate in the sessions and take a role in planning/designing upcoming sessions
• Create a safe space for individuals to express themselves
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback and report any concerns to the staff team
• Support with beginner, first stage, gentle Bollywood dancing, using basic dance moves

Role Summary.

As a QA Reviewer at Roots Academy, you'll work closely with Regional Leads and the QA team to help maintain and raise the quality of teaching across our programmes. Your role is to support our instructors by regularly observing lessons, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging their continued growth and development.

Your input will help ensure that students benefit from lessons that are clear, engaging, and rooted in sound educational practice.

Key tasks

· Observe lessons via site visits or submitted video recordings throughout the semester.

· Use standardised forms to assess lesson quality and highlight key strengths and areas that could be improved.

· Offer honest and practical feedback, using real examples to guide instructors toward better practice.

· Work alongside Regional Leads to deliver feedback at set points in the semester and support instructor development conversations.

· Attend feedback meetings and take notes to track progress and follow-up actions.

· Recommend helpful activities for instructors, such as shadowing experienced colleagues, team teaching, or reviewing their own lessons.

· Keep track of instructors needing additional support by scheduling follow-up visits or reviewing new lesson recordings.

· Make sure feedback is received, understood, and followed up with clear next steps.

· Raise any serious concerns or ongoing issues with the Regional Lead or relevant team members.

· Background in teaching, mentoring, or classroom observation.

· Good understanding of what makes a lesson effective and engaging.

· Confident communicator with good organisation skills.

· Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

Urban Youth is a brand-new youth work charity being set up to build a vibrant community for young people across London. Our mission is to provide engaging youth work activities, offer positive mentorship, and create safe spaces where young people can thrive, develop new skills, discover themselves and reach their full potential.

We're currently in the crucial setup phase, and securing initial funding is paramount to getting us off the ground and we're therefore looking for a dedicated Volunteer for Fundraising & Grants to help us kickstart our financial journey. This is a unique chance to be involved from the very beginning, directly contributing to our ability to reach and support young Londoners.

What will you do?

In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in securing the seed funding we need to get started.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Grant Research & Application: Researching and identifying suitable grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and corporate social responsibility programmes. You'll then assist with or lead on drafting compelling grant applications to secure vital seed funding.

• Fundraising Event Planning: Taking the lead on planning and organising a range of initial fundraising events and activities. This could involve small community events, online campaigns, or creative initiatives to raise awareness and funds.

• Donor Cultivation Support: Helping to identify potential individual donors or corporate partners and assisting with initial outreach strategies.

• Budgeting & Tracking: Supporting the development of basic fundraising budgets and helping to track income and expenditure for fundraising activities.

Who are we looking for?

We need someone who is not only passionate about empowering young people but also brings practical skills in fundraising and development.

You should be:

• Proactive & Self-Motivated: Able to take initiative, identify opportunities, and drive tasks forward with minimal supervision.

• Strong Researcher: Skilled in finding relevant information, particularly about funding bodies and their criteria.

• Excellent Communicator: Able to write clearly, concisely, and persuasively (essential for grant applications) and comfortable with outreach.

• Organised: Capable of managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and event logistics effectively.

• Creative: Able to think of engaging and effective ways to raise funds and awareness.

• Committed: Willing to dedicate a few hours a week (flexible, all tasks can be done remotely) to help us build Urban Youth from the ground up. Experience in fundraising or bid writing is a bonus, but a strong willingness to learn is just as valued!

This is a voluntary, unremunerated role, but it offers invaluable experience in charity fundraising, grants management, and the immense satisfaction of directly enabling a new organisation to make a profound difference in countless young lives.

Purpose

As a Volunteer with Age UK Croydon, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission by engaging with the community and providing support. Your contribution will directly impact the well-being of older residents and help foster an inclusive, caring community.

Key Responsibilities

− Reach out to older adults through phone calls, home visits, or community events to reduce loneliness and promote social inclusion. 

− Assist in organising and supporting local events, activities, and outreach initiatives.

− Help coordinate and promote access to services such as information and advice, health and wellbeing programs, and social activities.

− Support with data entry, maintaining volunteer and participant records, and administrative tasks as needed. 

− Help distribute newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials.

− Assist in raising awareness about Age UK Croydon’s services through community engagement. 

− Respect client confidentiality and uphold the dignity and independence of older people. 

  Essential Skills and Qualities:

- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature 

- Good communication and active listening skills 

- Reliable, respectful, and sensitive to diversity and individual needs 

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

- Basic computer skills (for administrative tasks) are desirable but not essential
