Job description

Title: Employment and Training Co-ordinator (Disabilities Charity) 

Contract: Permanent

Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend working. 

Full time. Happy to discuss flexible working.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Deadline: Friday 11th February / 12 noon

 We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to support adults with learning disabilities into meaningful training, volunteering and employment so they can achieve their ambitions.

About PiP

PiP stands for Pursuing Independent Paths. We are a charity that empowers adults with learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism to achieve their ambitions, find and use their voice and live a life of their choice.

One of the ways we do that is through supporting our students into meaningful training, work experience, volunteering or employment.  Our new Employment and Training Co-ordinator will be responsible for the design and delivery of this programme of learning and development as well as working with employers and partner to create opportunities.

About you

In this diverse and challenging role, you will be responsible for developing, designing and leading sessions and activities to ensure the provision of high-quality support around Employment and Vocational Training

Our ideal candidate will have experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable service user group, along with a strong commitment to taking a person-centred approach to the role.
 

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Can see solutions, not problems

  • Is a creative thinker

  • Is adaptable and resilient

  • Is positive, dynamic, upbeat and enthusiastic

Essential experience and knowledge

  • Demonstrable track record of supporting adults with learning disabilities or similar vulnerable group into opportunities such as community participation, work, volunteering, training or further education.

  • Experience of 1:1 work with vulnerable students such as key working or job coaching

  • Experience of delivering employment or training services/projects.

  • Co-ordinating projects including supervising/directing people/teams to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities or similar vulnerable group.
