About The Role  

The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Development Managers to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

As a Community Development Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Community Builders, fostering collaboration, innovation and commitment to community impact working in an ABCD informed way. The aim is to connect and re-engage members of the AFC with the services at Help for Heroes and within the wider community. 

This is an exciting and varied role for dynamic and confident individuals, in which the right candidate will work directly within communities across the UK; bringing the Armed Forces Community together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the leadership of an integrated, community development and hybrid volumizing offer which improves reach and sustained positive impact for members of the Armed Forces community. 

About You

You will be responsible for the effective line management of a dispersed community-based team and have experience managing co-designed/co-delivered community development initiatives. You will recognise the potential for growth and expansion within these communities and empower local people to exact changes focused on what’s important to them. 

You will have a genuine professional commitment to ABCD informed delivery, possess the capacity to work collaboratively with others and pilot projects for new community development initiatives by identifying and creating viable plans for growth and expansion to increase reach, impact and accessibility across the AFC.  

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate locality-based Community Development related services 

• Provide line management for a regionally specific team of Community Builders, positively participating in line management meetings, annual appraisals, monthly and quarterly team meetings as required facilitating 1:1 and group line management supervision including volunteers 

• Act as safeguarding and health and safety lead for your regional team ensuring safe practice 

• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for Community Development colleagues/volunteers and programme activity

• Identify and leverage community assets and resources to support community development initiatives 

• Support the collation of evidence and impact data 

PLEASE NOTE: There is a requirement for frequent travel extensively within the regions allocated for this role. There will be evening and weekend working as required and flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

• Educated to degree level in a relevant field (Social Science, Community Development, Health and Social Care), related field, or hold an equivalent professional Community Development qualification. 

• Demonstrable experience of senior management/leadership of a Community Development team or integrated multi-disciplinary service informed by Community Development principles 

• Proficiency in managing projects from conception to completion  

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively 

About The Team 

You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Role outline and purpose

Ensuring the delivery of The Trussell Trust’s vision to end the need for food banks in the UK by developing an in-depth understanding of Trussell Trust food banks in their area and using coaching and assist to build and hold productive relationships to:

· Develop and execute a strategic plan for reducing the need for food banks’  services locally.

· Work alongside local partners to increase public will for long-term solutions to end the need for food banks.

· Develop and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders to assist evidenced-based policy change at a local level and feed into activity to drive policy and practice at UK wide and national levels.

Responsibilities

· Assisting trustees, staff and volunteers within food banks to develop their plans to end the need for their services locally through the strategic key areas of operations, volunteering, data, participation, church engagement, governance and stability, financial inclusion, stakeholder engagement, local influencing, referral pathways and signposting. 

· Assist food banks to operate in a safe, legal and dignified manner (through calls, visits, training, meeting facilitation and our risk management and self-assessment processes) and assist the facilitation of good practice within the network and wider organisation (through cluster meetings, regional forums, road shows, webinars, peer support and internal meetings).

· Contribute to the development and promotion of support available to food banks through the Trussell Trust (including use of the digital hub, toolkits, partnerships and expert advice) and assist food banks with grant application processes, as required.  

· Develop and manage positive relationships with relevant external stakeholders, including local councils and anti-poverty networks, to ensure the Trussell Trust vision is understood and able to influence local decisions, whilst supporting and empowering food banks to foster these relationships locally. 

· Work with food banks to ensure that local churches (including church leaders) are connected to and have an understanding of the importance of ending the need for food banks in local communities. 

· Support the development, and lead on aspects of delivery, of projects with food banks and external partners that contribute to ending the need for food banks.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

Premier League Stadium Fund Technical Manager (Midlands and East of England)

£37,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on relevant experience and skills) plus generous benefits

The role will be home-based, but geographically will be required to cover clubs and leagues based in the Midlands and the East of England.

Regular travel to clubs’ stadiums will be required, as well as occasional travel to our office at Wembley Stadium in London.

About the Premier League Stadium Fund

The Premier League Stadium Fund is fully funded by the Premier League and is delivered and administered by the Football Foundation. It provides financial support to clubs throughout the football pyramid. As well as continuing to fund ground-grading requirements, the Premier League Stadium Fund includes a Club Development Fund to help clubs grow and enhance sustainability.

The Premier League Stadium Fund awards capital grants to clubs to support improvement of their stadium facilities for players, supporters and officials. Funding is available to clubs who play in Steps 1 to 6 of the National League System, Tiers 1 to 4 of the Women’s Football Pyramid and clubs promoted into the English Football League.

The role

Working as part of a team of Technical Managers, you will support our Stadium Accreditation Programme and will lead on the technical/construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant projects.

Stadium Accreditation

You will support the Stadium Accreditation Programme by helping establish new ways of working following the initial assessment of approximately 1,000 stadiums across England and Wales. You will have responsibility for a set of leagues and clubs across the Midlands and the East of England and you will work with them to ensure their compliance while also delivering against the objectives outlined within the new Premier League Stadium Fund Facilities Strategy.

Grant Management

You will also be responsible for the scrutiny of the technical and construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant applications and ensuring the successful completion of new and improved stadium facilities. As part of this process, you will provide professional advice and guidance to applicants to assist with the development of capital projects, within the National League System (NLS) and Women’s Football Pyramid (WFP).

You will work with clubs to ensure that solutions can be found to address the findings of the Stadium Accreditation Programme, and will then carry out a technical assessment of any grant applications made by those clubs. Following the allocation of any funding, you will help to oversee the construction process to ensure that the build is completed to programme.

What are we looking for?

You’ll need a construction-related degree or professional qualification (for example RICS, CIOB, RIBA or equivalent), or the equivalent experience in a construction management or technical role. You’ll have expertise in construction processes, and experience of delivering facilities from inception to completion. Experience in sports facility construction is desirable but not essential.

You must also have great people skills and the ability to inspire and engage people at all levels, from clients and suppliers to volunteers, whilst also being confident in dealing with conflict and challenging situations. You’ll have strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail with the ability to analyse complex situations and make tough decisions. You’ll be flexible and open to new ways of doing things, including new technologies, so that the Premier League Stadium Fund and the Stadium Accreditation programme continue to improve.

As CTA's Business Development Manager, your role involves increasing the uptake of MiDAS training and growing CTA membership. About the opportunity

As an Impact Analyst, you will work within a team across 2-3 social impact projects initially. An example of one of the programmes you will become a key part of delivering is a community based, preventative emotional resilience and wellbeing pilot called Turning Tides.

Turning Tides is a two-year pilot programme testing innovative means of protecting and promoting the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable young people along the North Yorkshire Coast. The programme leverages local organisations and their expertise, providing each young person a dedicated coach who works to identify a participant's strengths and ambitions – and takes a community-based asset development approach to match those goals with opportunities in the local area.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include.

· Overseeing all data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation.

· Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure the impact of service innovations for the programmes you are working across. Produce regular reports and insights that aid decision making to continuously improve programme design.

· Taking initiative to propose and implement relevant analyses to the project to maximise positive impact for participants with the programmes you are supporting.

· Building relationships and working at times directly with Delivery Partners (VCSE organisations who are delivering the frontline services for the programme) to ensure they are able to use the data systems accurately and effectively,

About the role:

The role of the Services Manager is pivotal to leading the delivery of our services; developing and improving our existing services; and creating new services to widen our impact on veterans and their families, ensuring our clients are supported into meaningful and sustainable employment, with an approach that is tailored to their individual needs.

You’ll be managing a delivery team of up to 8 people, supporting them to deliver our services to veterans and their families to a high standard, and working closely with other service managers to ensure consistency. You’ll also lead on engagement & outreach for your designated region, to raise awareness of our services, to ensure we reach all veterans and their families who need our support.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Working as part of the veterans and families leadership team, contributing to the strategic, cultural, & technical development and service delivery for the organisation and the veteran and families services team and deputise for colleagues where required.
• Working closely with other Service Managers lead on the delivery of our services, ensuring these are effectively and safely delivered, monitoring performance to meet agreed targets, identifying any concerns and taking appropriate action and escalation where required.
• Lead on and contribute to the improvement of existing services and development of new services, aligned with the charity’s strategic objectives, based on evidence and data to meet the identified needs of the UK armed forces community.
• Manage a team of up to 8 people, providing leadership, support, and direction as needed, including recruitment and onboarding of new employees, empowering them to achieve their potential and in a style that best suits them.
• Provide high-quality supervision and caseload management, to ensure good management of individual and overall caseloads, identify any opportunities to improve the service and manage any risks to service delivery.
• Work with the communications team to ensure an overarching outreach & engagement plan is developed to best represent and support our services, to ensure partners and veterans can easily refer to our service and are clear on what we offer.
• Lead on engagement & outreach for each area of responsibility, aligned with the overarching plan, to raise awareness of our services, to ensure we reach all veterans and their families who need our support.

About the Role

Working under the direction and support of a Regional Prevention Services Managers, the Deputy Service Manager will lead a team of client-facing workers to deliver effective and high-quality services that strive to prevent homelessness.  You will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.

The postholder will be accountable for the day-to-day aspects of service delivery in line with Depaul’s expectations and procedures. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery of our Supported Lodgings service, including the line management of client-facing workers, supporting the to deliver high-quality services.

Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery, the aim of which is to ensure that every client leaves a Depaul service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self determining in their lives.

Key responsibilities include:

•  Ensure every client accessing Supported Lodgings service is welcomed, kept safe and has a suitable support plan for longer term accommodation and support

• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for engagement in Supported Lodgings Services

• Develop and deliver key partnerships with referral agencies and support related projects

• Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to continuously review and develop the services under your responsibility

• You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for Supported Lodgings’ guests and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.

• Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to monitor project budgets and petty cash systems

• Participate in internal/external local and national meetings and supervision meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary

• Lead on the safeguarding of all clients accessing your services including clients who are not in receipt of support from other staff

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.

The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.

Key Responsibilities

Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:

• Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
• Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
• Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.

Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
• Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
• Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
• Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)

Job Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to project manage the WAGGGS European Guide Conference (EGC) and the Europe Guide and Scout Conference, jointly with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Vienna Scouts.

More about the event:   

The EGC and the EGSC are delivered together as a 4-day event with some elements online. The event will take place in Vienna, Austria in July 2025 in partnership with the host organisation, the Vienna Scouts. This is the main platform for decision makers in our 42 European Member Organisations to gather for networking and consultation on the direction of travel. The International Commissioners (IC) Forum will take place from 5-8th December in Malta and is the platform for stakeholder engagement prior to the conferences.   

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Project manage the delivery of the in-person EGC to ensure that the event fulfils the objectives and is delivered on time and within the WAGGGS budget.

2. Manage relationship with WOSM and the Vienna Scouts to ensure communication is smooth and that WAGGGS’ input to the EGSC is provided within agreed timelines.

3. Build and manage relationships with WAGGGS staff, volunteers, partners and Membership Organisations, including working closely with volunteers around the Conferences.

4. Manage the budget for the EGC. 

5. Manage logistics and coordinate the content of the EGC in collaboration with Europe region staff team and volunteers.  Support the EGSC with these elements.

6. Support the development of the event risk assessment. 

7. Oversee the conferences’ circulars in collaboration with communications colleagues. 

8. Coordinate and monitor conference planning team in collaboration with the conference Lead. 

9. Ensure the conferences comply with WAGGGS visual identity.

10. Support with the registration process and conference inbox where needed. 

11. Create an evaluation survey and draft the final EGC report in additional to providing input into the EGSC report. 

12. Support the organisation of the IC Forum in partnership with the lead organisation, WOSM and the host organisation, Malta Guides and Scouts.  This will include final logistics & final content planning arrangements, input into post-event evaluation.

Covering the operational, strategic and delivery of work we are looking for a Project Development Co-ordinator to operate across the South-East, within Kent or with the ability to travel across Kent. Travel within and occasionally outside the regions will be a necessity. 

This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to supervise, deliver and lead on our stakeholder and community engagement across a region to support the delivery of NEA’s work programme.  The role will help deliver projects that can change lives, particularly during the energy crisis.  NEA’s project work aims to bring improvements to the health and wellbeing of low income and vulnerable householders, through one-to-one advice, group awareness sessions, upskilling and sharing of best practice.

Delivering on a range or projects, which demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders, you will understand and drive the development of partnerships working with local authorities, housing providers, and various other partners.

 You will oversee the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, delivering energy and fuel debt advice directly to householders and be responsible for the preparation of reports to funders including collation of evidence of outcomes achieved; maintaining relationships with a network of stakeholders across a region. 

You will also work with the Project Development Manager to identify and develop new programmes of work, including preparation of funding applications, presentation of funding proposals to relevant funding bodies and to ensure effective liaison of NEA’s work programme with other activities within NEA.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED 

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.

It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.

You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives;

Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable. 

WE ARE OFFERING 

• £32,641 to £37,304 (FTE) – Salary Grade SO1 – SO2, Points 23 – 28. Staff usually commence at the starting point of the scale
