We have a new vacancy for an HR Operations Coordinator in the Strategy, Finance and Operations team, reporting to the Head of People. The person will be supporting HR and People related operational activities by delivering excellent support through strong relationships across the organisation.The salary is £13,780 per year (18.75 paid contractual hours per week). This is £27,560 pro-rated.

Role responsibilities (not an exhaustive list, there may be reasonable changes over time) 

Operations – People and General: 

• Promptly responding and resolving colleague queries from across the organisation
• Maintaining the BambooHR system to ensure People records are accurate and secure. Training will be provided.

This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 16 cities across England.  We have been commissioned to deliver the programme in Knowsley by Knowsley Public Health. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. Then in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the Mayor!

Key Tasks include:

· Assist with recruitment of five schools to take part in Young Marketeers

· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations

The role

As Project Manager of a new, three-year partnership project working with military support organisations, you will lead the planning, delivery and performance monitoring of a national programme offering bereavement support to those affected by military deaths. This role requires a balance of excellent organisational skills, partnership management and internal project team management. You will also be expected to have or develop a compassionate understanding of the sensitivities surrounding grief, trauma and military culture.

The postholder will be responsible for implementing project structures, ensuring the delivery of all aspects of the programme, reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders, resolving challenges and providing persuasive and effective leadership of the project to strengthen the networks of care within military and civilian communities.

About the Role

Working alongside the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the BDD Foundation while leading on key projects during this three month cover period. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Inclusion Officer to support the delivery of our Migration Programme. The role involves building strong, trusting relationships with migrant communities, uncovering what matters to people, and helping them connect, participate, and influence positive change.

You’ll work closely with the Migration Programme Manager to shape, deliver, and grow initiatives that engage and support Central and Eastern European (CEE) and other underrepresented migrant communities across Birmingham and nationally.

Your work will involve delivering existing and developing new projects that empower communities and promote inclusion. By co-creating events, support structures, and opportunities for collaboration, you’ll help foster resilience, amplify migrant voices, and influence local narratives, civic life, and policy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement & Relationship Building

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach and engagement with CEE and new migrant communities to build stronger, more representative participation.

• Support the development of new community initiatives to encourage collaboration and leadership.

• Ensure migrants—especially those from marginalised groups such as LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, and those experiencing mental health challenges—are included and heard.

Key Tasks:

• Hold regular one-to-one meetings to understand people’s concerns, hopes, and ambitions.

• Identify and support active community members to develop confidence, participation, and leadership skills.

• Support community groups to connect, collaborate, and take part in shared projects.

• Amplify migrant voices in public conversations and forums.

• Create and deliver communications plans (including social media) to connect and inspire active citizens.

• Support and encourage local initiatives, events, and community projects.

• Deliver workshops, meetings, panel discussions, and cultural celebrations.

• Organise both online and in-person events to strengthen community ties.

• Maintain an active network of community contacts and ensure efficient communication.

• Identify opportunities to collaborate with external organisations and campaigns.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Prepare and monitor evaluations of projects and activities.

• Assist in compiling reports for funders and stakeholders.

• Support data collection and maintain accurate financial records.

4. Fundraising & Financial Oversight

• Contribute to Centrala’s fundraising initiatives.

• Support the development and management of project budgets.

• Lived experience of migration.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

About the role

You will be home based and will need to travel in the UK, Eire, Europe and further afield as the role develops.

Engagement Officer

This role is crucial to the global influencing work within the Public Affairs, Advocacy and Campaigns department.

Position: Engagement Officer

Location: Remote

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday.

Salary: £30,779 per annum

Contract: Permanent contract starting as soon as possible

About the Role

The Engagement Officer is responsible for identifying and maintaining meaningful relationships with global stakeholders, including governmental, non-governmental and educational institutions. We are tackling the greatest threats working donkeys face locally and around the world, from the donkey skin trade to challenges working animals face in disasters. By coordinating engagement around sustainable development, wildlife crime, One Health and One Welfare agendas, the Engagement Officer will enable the cohesion within the member groups that the Sanctuary are currently part of and inspire new ways of working. This includes the International Coalition of Working Equids (ICWE) and developing and building new coalition opportunities around working animals.

Principles duties include:

· Build strong internal and external partnerships with global stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organisations to grow existing and build new relationships.

· Coordinate and assist with accreditations and processes that support access in policy forums.

· Assist in the coordination of coalition and alliance engagement opportunities globally.

· Lead on agreed coalition / alliance priorities such as creating material, meeting with partners and planning international events.

· Create supporting materials and reports for stakeholders that advance the influencing agenda.

· Engage with, and support, team processes around strategic planning for external events and activities.

· Support the wider activities of the influencing work including helping to identify key external stakeholders and new forums.

· Manage the team horizon scanning

The globally working team is spread across the UK and overseas. This role is primarily remote, with flexibility to work from a location based in the UK that suits your needs and the needs of the organisation, in line with the Hybrid Working Guidelines. While the post is nominally linked to the Sidmouth office, there is only an occasional requirement to travel (around 3–4 times per year) to Sidmouth or another UK location for team meetings or organisational events.
