We're seeking a passionate, innovative, and experienced leader to oversee the Tenancy Support Team (TST) North, a vital service providing housing-related support to people living in accommodation across North London.
About the role
As the Head of Service for TST North, you'll be at the forefront of driving positive change and ensuring the smooth operation of SHP’s largest Tenancy Support Service. With a focus on both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing specialised projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised support housing-related and Move-On support.
The Head of Service for TST (North) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tenancy Support Team (North) and bespoke projects that support the delivery of the main service. TST North comprises two distinct services funded via the Greater London Authority (GLA) – TST North (main contract), which offers tenancy and Move-on support to 1200 clients housed through the Clearing House Scheme, and TST North PRS which supports 200 clients housed in Private Rented Sector Accommodation.
The Head of TST will hold overall responsibility for motivating and managing the 50+ staff team, ensuring exceptional service delivery, targets are achieved, and clients receive the best possible support to enable them to sustain their tenancies. The Head of TST is required to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, be able to use KPI and outcome data to influence service delivery.
The post holder is required to be agile and dynamic in their approach to engaging and managing the multiple stakeholder relationships across all North London Boroughs, including the development and management of relationships with Private Rented Sector landlords and agents to ensure that Move-on targets are achieved. There is a strong focus on the development of processes, policies, and procedures that promote the key ambitions of the service and respond to changes in service delivery, either due to shifting funding priorities or the launch of new bespoke projects.
About you
- Experience in leading large and dispersed teams in either supported housing, advice, homelessness, or other relevant environment.
- Ability to manage multiple service priorities and commissioner/external stakeholders' demands and to remain motivated in a demanding and target-driven role.
- Experience in producing, analysing, and interpreting complex reports and statistics for use in service monitoring or planning.
- A strong understanding of the techniques aims and objectives of working with street homeless people, including those facing multiple disadvantages.
- An enthusiasm and well-developed skill for placing service users at the heart of service delivery and developing services based on their experience.
- Experience of financial planning for service delivery; budgetary responsibility and control. Wide-ranging knowledge of housing pathways and Move-on routes for people moving from housing with support to independence (hostels, Private Rented Sector, and social housing).

About the project
In an innovative partnership with Southwark Council, Southwark Law Centre, and Impact for Urban Health, we’ve been supporting close to 200 private renters over the last 3 years who have been threatened with eviction by their landlords, or are living in temporary accommodation, to sustain their tenancies and/or find onward housing in the social or private sector that is suitable for their health, needs and aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and health professionals to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.

You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances. You will also have experience working in a systemic and therapeutic way. It is also important to us that you have the competency to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups in response to identified need and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. You will work in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLStG) and Brent, Westminster and Wandsworth Mind (BWW Mind), to ensure Carers are identified and routinely referred into the service. You will have responsibility for line managing the Mental Health Carers Peer Support Worker.
Key Requirements Include:

About this role
This is a new service commissioned by Flintshire County Council on behalf of health and social care partners through the Welsh Government Regional Integration Fund. The service has been commissioned to fill a gap identified within existing service provision. The service will deliver face to face support with a focus on practical interventions which are responsive to both clients and referring agencies. The project lead will coordinate and deliver a rapid response service to meet immediate needs, and then ensure delivery of short-term support interventions to reduce reliance on statutory services, prevent (re)admission to hospital, and maximise long term independence in the community.
The purpose of this role:
To plan and deliver solutions in collaboration with clients to ensure that people are provided with short term practical support which prevents escalation in need or which facilitates hospital discharge.

You will be responsible for a caseload of clients undertaking duties such as:
- Prioritise needs and offer solutions to meet immediate needs.

- Provide advice and support the client to identify their needs and discuss the support they want.
- Ensure that the client understands and is kept informed of all the procedures and practices involved with their particular circumstances.
- Provide information to the Project Lead, Client Services Manager and other bodies responsible for monitoring the projects performance.
- Ensure that good records are kept in all cases, updating computerised records as necessary and maintaining case notes and progress forms.
- Participate in staff meetings and training courses as required.
- Work effectively with local statutory and voluntary organisations and colleagues within the team to progress each case
- Produce case studies which demonstrate the impact of our work.

The Islington Progression Pathway is a large multi-site service that currently has a staff team of 16 supporting 77 clients living in 6 different sites; covering specialism's such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health, Physical Health. Role Purpose
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) is supported by the Volunteering Matters family. RSVP is a volunteer-led project that encourages, facilitates, and supports older people aged 50+ to keep active by volunteering in their community.
RSVP believe by volunteering and using their life experience and skills, older people are less likely to be socially isolated and suffer from poor mental and physical health and wellbeing. RSVP groups are coordinated by a team of Volunteer Organisers. Current activities include volunteering within NHS hospitals and schools, charitable knitting groups, walking groups, and a Handyperson scheme. Over 1000 older people have engaged over the last 21 years.
We are looking for a Development Worker who can work flexibly, is driven, and is passionate about supporting older people to volunteer in their community. It is important that the post holder can commit to our organisational values – being Compassionate, Empowering, Inclusive, Positive and Straightforward.
The coronavirus pandemic caused major disruption to RSVP. Risks to older people meant that our volunteers were asked, overnight, to shield at home. RSVP activities closed for a prolonged period of time. While these have since re-launched, a significant number of Organisers and Volunteers have not returned to volunteering.
As our Development Worker, you will provide staff support to re-build RSVP activities across Forth Valley. You will help to decrease social isolation and loneliness, and improve older people’s mental health and wellbeing, by engaging them in regular, ongoing volunteering roles suited to their needs and interests.
You will work closely with a small team of Volunteer Organisers, supporting and empowering them to deliver and develop RSVP activities across Forth Valley.
Over the next year, we aim to engage a minimum of 60 new volunteers in our activities across Forth Valley. You will lead a volunteer recruitment campaign while also developing and implementing sustainable infrastructure for the future such as Organiser guides, and other volunteering and project resources. These local resources will supplement the nationally developed “RSVP toolkit” and resource materials already available.
This role is funded by the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing fund, in Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
Key Duties
• Role model and display our organisational values – being Compassionate, Empowering, Inclusive, Positive and Straightforward
• Teamwork across the regional staff team and the wider charity, working in a flexible way
• Support the day-to-day activities, and development of RSVP. This includes meeting ambitious goals, ensuring all older people engaged achieve positive outcomes
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders including colleagues, volunteer organisers, volunteers, schools, NHS staff, partner organisations and others. This will include face-to-face meetings in a variety of locations across Forth Valley
• Develop and lead an ambitious volunteer recruitment campaign, aimed at engaging older people in volunteering. This includes creating relevant promotional material and information.
• Recruit and support older volunteers and volunteer organisers in an inclusive way
• Support existing Volunteer Organisers, alongside the Delivery Leader, particularly around ensuring the project has appropriate infrastructure in place for our activities
• To maintain Volunteering Matters and RSVP standards around quality and effective Volunteer Management
• Support appropriate risk assessment, safeguarding, quality assurance and audit processes
• Ensure quarterly statistical data is collected and that RSVP Forth Valley meets its agreed goals, reporting format and schedule as required by our funders.
