The person appointed to this pivotal role will be the most senior lay officer in the Bishop’s Leadership Team, and also Chief Executive of the charitable company which directly supports parishes with the fundamental changes that are underway across the diocese. They will play a central part in driving forward changes to enable our parishes to grow and flourish as well as overseeing key corporate functions — including Finance, HR, IT, Property, and Safeguarding .
We are looking for a leader with proven experience in strategic leadership and transformational change — someone who is passionate about diversity, inclusion, and racial justice, and who is generous in working with a breadth of traditions and spirituality in the Church of England.

About You
- Proven experience managing property repairs and maintenance services at a senior level, ideally within a local authority or housing association.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, health and safety, and asset management practices.
- Confident managing budgets, performance data, and stakeholder relationships.
- Able to hit the ground running and thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
Main Purpose of the role
As a member of the Senior Management Team and reporting to the CEO, you will lead the property repairs and maintenance function for approximately 700 units of accommodation. Ensuring the delivery of efficient, high-quality, cost-effective and customer-focused repairs and maintenance services. This includes overseeing reactive and planned maintenance, compliance with health and safety standards, and continuous improvement of service delivery.

The Role
As CEO, you will provide inspirational leadership, overseeing all aspects of the organisations work in the UK and abroad, ensuring continued impact and growth. You will have:
- Proven senior leadership experience, ideally in the charitable or not-for-profit sector.
- Strategic thinking skills with strong financial and operational management experience.
- Demonstrable success in fundraising and developing new income streams.
- Experience of working with Boards of Trustees and managing governance requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience of acting as a public spokesperson.
- The ability to inspire, manage, and grow staff, volunteers, and supporter networks.
