For the past eight years, The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid) has been working in a highly successful partnership with Barnardo’s and 3 other voluntary sector agencies in the delivery of Big Manchester project in the north of the city. The project offers an innovative approach to working with families with children aged 5-11 who have been affected by domestic violence and abuse, substance misuse and poor mental health.
The role will involve intensive holistic work with parents and their primary school aged children and where the family has been impacted by domestic violence and abuse. You will work with children in 1:1 settings and support them through a range of interventions including using creative therapeutic play techniques. Alongside this you would also work collaboratively with parents – assessing their needs and working with them to look for solutions.

Your role as Deputy Manager

They are currently looking for a Senior Support Worker, or an experienced Support Worker looking to develop into a senior post. You support the Deputy and Residential Manager in supervising a team of staff with the aim to help their young people move into independent living in the future.
You will be based within their Residential Home in Bury working shifts over a 37.5 hour week consisting of earlies, lates and occasional sleep ins & nights when required to support the services, so flexibility is required.

Your role as a Senior Support Worker
- To carry out direct and indirect care of young people with complex mental health needs
- To work in a team, giving the highest standard of care possible to the young people.
- To work alongside the Deputy and Residential Manager to support with the management of staff and smooth running of the home
- To closely follow individual care plans and support young people with education, shopping, and social and leisure activities.
- To carry out multiple interventions involving the delivery of care to young people
- To promote independence amongst the young people
- To provide support, advice and information to the young people, parents and other carers
- To carry out further duties as per our attached document (Writing reports, general office admin, etc.)
Requirements of a Senior Support Worker
- NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent within Care
- Flexibility - Your role will involve working shifts including sleep ins/weekends/Bank Holidays
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to listen to others
- Good written skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
- IT Literate (Able to write emails and use Microsoft Office)
- An understanding of the issues around confidentiality
- An understanding of safeguarding
- Professional working boundaries between staff and service users
- Ability to remain calm in emergencies, supporting others during difficult situations
Desirable Criteria
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience of working with young people who have mental health needs

Our client provides residential services for young people aged 16-30 years old who have been discharged from psychiatric inpatient stays or may have experienced previous admissions and/or placement breakdowns. The young people they care for often require a high level of support and dynamic approach to risk management in order to support problems they may have with self-harming, behaviour and emotional regulation. Their aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic, least restrictive approach to live in a non-secure community setting and to achieve their individual goals in preparation for transition to adult life.
They are currently looking for a kind, caring and friendly person to join their professional team as a Waking Night Support Worker. Experience is not essential and full training will be provided, however an understanding of the issues young people face in their daily life would really help to make a difference.
You will be based within their Residential Home in Stockport where you will work 8:30 pm – 7:30 am over a 2 weekly rota (Week 1 – 33 hours) (Week 2 – 44 hours).

Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
Victim Support are commissioned to provide Lancashire Victim Services, supporting over 80,000 victims of crime each year in Lancashire. Our specialist domestic violence service supports victims of domestic abuse including those at high risk of harm. We have an opportunity to work as part of our specialist team in Accrington as a Triage Worker. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we offer the right support at the right time for those referred who are at a high risk of harm you will be responsible for completing initial need and risk assessments and offering appropriate safety information, signposting and support.
We are looking for a someone with a proven track record of working with victims of domestic abuse who really understands the needs, issues and barriers to support and has the skills to engage with clients. You will need an excellent telephone manner as well as the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines and timescales. You will need to be able to work efficiently at a fast pace in order to manage your workload and will have excellent IT skills.
You will be based in Accrington but initially due to the current circumstances will be working from home so you will need to have a confidential and appropriate space from which to work.
