Are you creative, enthusiastic and passionate about helping people build confidence, improve wellbeing and reconnect with their community?

Harrogate Homeless Project is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead and develop an engaging programme of activities for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by creating meaningful experiences that reduce social isolation, improve mental health and support individuals on their journey towards independent living.

As Activities Coordinator, you will design, coordinate and deliver a varied timetable of recreational, educational and wellbeing activities, working alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and community partners to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse programme of activities including arts and crafts, music, cooking, gardening, fitness, wellbeing and life-skills workshops.
  • Develop weekly and monthly activity schedules that meet the varied interests and support needs of clients.
  • Adapt activities to suit different abilities, confidence levels and individual circumstances.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that encourages participation and social connection.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with clients who may have experienced homelessness, rough sleeping or complex trauma.
  • Motivate and support individuals to try new experiences and engage with activities that promote wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work closely with the Client Services Team and external partners to ensure activities complement clients’ support plans.
  • Recruit, support and coordinate volunteers who assist with activity delivery.
  • Develop partnerships with local organisations, guest speakers and community groups to expand opportunities available to clients.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and monitor the impact and success of the activities programme.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety requirements and undertake risk assessments where appropriate.
