The Trans Learning Partnership (TLP) is in the process of evolving into a new, independent charity: the Trans Research Partnership (TRP). This transition will be completed by the end of 2025. As part of this transition, we’re recruiting up to five founding trustees to help shape the future of TRP.

TRP will be a trans-led research charity that centres trans voices and produces rigorous, community-led research to inform policy, practice, and public understanding. Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring our initiatives make sense in the context of how solicitor firms actually operate

Shaping our strategy:

• Contributing the solicitor's perspective to our programme development

• Advising on the best approaches for engaging with firms, training providers, and professional bodies

• Helping develop resources that work in real solicitor practice environments

Being our face in the profession:

• Representing us at solicitor-focused events and networks

• Building relationships that open doors and create opportunities

The need-to-know

Time commitment: Around 4-8 hours per month - one monthly trustee meeting plus the solicitor-specific work, and the occasional extra task that crops up. 

Term: We're looking for a minimum 2-year commitment initially, which then becomes a rolling 1-year term subject to the constitutional requirements.

WeSwim is a small charity in start-up mode which achieved charitable status from the Charity Commission in 2024 and currently has three Trustees on its Board.

Key Responsibilities

We are particularly seeking trustees who can lead in these priority areas:

Fundraising Leadership

• Identify, lead and drive fundraising initiatives to secure sustainable financial resources for WeSwim

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies, particularly focusing on corporate sponsorship

Fundraising Skills:

• Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies across multiple channels
