Stop Domestic Abuse is a leading, women‑led, feminist charity supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse and stalking across Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton. Established in 1977 as Havant Women’s Aid, we have grown from a single refuge into a major regional provider delivering specialist, trauma‑informed services through our 19 refuges and community support. About the role

As the Director of Income Generation and Communications, you will deliver sustainable growth and development in income generation so that our mission and long-term ambitions can be achieved.

You will fulfil the organisation’s strategic plans, focusing on securing and managing contracts and grants, diversified income generation, the development of communications and marketing as well as management and business development.

Who we are looking for

As an experienced senior manager with a proven track record of leadership in the voluntary/social care sector, you will work as a key member of Stop Domestic Abuse’s executive leadership team.

We are looking for a senior fundraiser with a particular focus or interest in the women’s sector or VAWG sector. You will have experience in leading income generation, particularly in writing compelling bids, grants and tenders.

You will be a successful team manager with the experience to develop a strong income generation and communications strategy, as well as leading the team to achieve their professional goals.

We are currently recruiting for a Finance and Business Assistant

Job Summary

Location : Hybrid – main office and remote. 

Changing Pathways main office is in Felmores End, Basildon.

MAIN DUTIES: 

1. Monitoring and processing bank, petty cash and credit card transactions

onto the accounting software (Quickbooks).

2. Management of bank and petty cash and credit card reconciliations.

3. Responsibility for the purchase ledger function, ensuring all expenditure

is correctly recorded onto the accounting software, supplier queries are

adequately dealt with, purchase orders raised where relevant and

payments processed promptly. 

4. Responsibility for the sales ledger function, ensuring income is correctly

recorded onto the accounting software, sales invoices raised, sent, with

reminders where necessary and donor income records are updated and

maintained.

5. Updating of database OASIS system, reporting and assistance with

controlling of refuge income (rent) and debtors (housing benefit charge).

6. Assist with recording, processing and reporting of client recharges,

including liaising with our partners for timely payments and

reimbursements. 

7. Support coordination of cash banking and petty cash processing for all

sites.

8. Obtain relevant authorisation for financial transactions.

9. Monitor shared and personal finance inboxes daily, responding to queries

in a timely fashion.

10. Assist with the provision of information and preparation of reports for

internal and external clients.

11. Support with implementation of new finance operational and

administrative systems.

12. General filing and administrative tasks.

13. Such other tasks that may be required from time to time as is necessary

to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the finance function

and the organisation.

GENERAL: 

1. Identify own training and development needs and participate in all

training courses relevant to the Changing Pathway’s commitment to

providing high quality services. 

2. Work at all times with due regard to the policies and procedures of

Changing Pathways, including financial regulations, participating in

their development and amendment where required.

3. Willingness to work outside normal working hours including evenings

and weekends and to participate in promotional, fundraising and

income generating events, activities and any other duties as may be

reasonably required by the organisation.

OTHER: 

1. The post is subject to a DBS disclosure which will be carried out at

appointment of a candidate.

2.  This post is subject to completion of a six-month probationary period.

3.  Must be able to drive (the Pool Vehicle to visit sites) and work across

the whole contract area as required.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

Prepare compelling responses to grant applications, support the Business Development Director and wider leadership team with responses to complex tenders and high-value funding applications.

Ensure all policies, procedures and practice are reviewed in line with designated timescales and meet the quality assurance requirements of the national outcomes framework and service standards for VAWG, SafeLives, Women’s Aid NQS, RESPECT accreditation principles and any additional frameworks agreed by the CEO.

Lead, monitor and evaluate projects as designated by the Business Development Director e.g. project management of website redevelopment, collaborating with external contractors and our IT Manager to convey our organisational vision.

Support operational activities which inform whole-organisation improvement e.g. gather and analyse staff survey feedback data, possess a natural curiosity for data analysis and identification of trends which draw meaningful conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data.

Manage (and delegate where appropriate) and quality assure all subject access requests, complaints and data queries in line with Data Protection and GDPR legislation, working with, and supported by the Business Development Director (DPO) on complex cases.

About the Service

Solace provides safe refuge and move on accommodation to hundreds of women and children made homeless through domestic or sexual abuse. We run 19 refuges across London, including specialist refuge spaces for women with multiple needs. Of these, this role will involve working across three refuges in the borough of Haringey, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centered approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:

• Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-16 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
• Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children activities
• Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships
• Coordinate the delivery of activities through session staff, volunteers, and student placements

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and/or families, as well as knowledge of the effects that domestic abuse can have on young people.

You will be familiar with Assessment, Action Planning, and Evaluation for families, with experience in maintaining records. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as in partnership with other agencies or professionals, to promote family/child wellbeing.

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

Key Responsibilities -

To provide specialist expertise on DVA within the Public Protection Unit (PPU) and the local policing unit (LPU) across Coventry and Solihull police stations, covering Solihull Borough. This role will support the improvement of police practice by providing tailored guidance, advice, and professional support to officers and staff, strengthening their understanding of safe, trauma informed and appropriate interventions with women and children affected by DVA.

To provide information, support and signposting for women accessing WMP disclosing experiences of domestic violence/abuse.

Experience Required -

Influencing professional practice, including delivering training and awareness sessions 

Carrying out needs and risk assessments and support of women experiencing abuse 

Working within safeguarding guidelines to protect and promote the well-being of children and young people

We are looking for a new Independent Sexual Violence Advisor to join our team in providing advocacy and support to survivors of rape/sexual violence and sexual abuse.The ISVA will be based in our central Reading office, with the option of hybrid working. ISVAs will need to travel within Thames Valley to meet clients as required.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide advocacy and support to survivors of sexual violence.  The ISVA will support adults who have reported or are wishing to report this crime navigate the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work closely with the Police Service, Sexual Assault Referral Centre, CPS, and other relevant organisations. 

ISVA Main Duties

· Provide advice, guidance and information to adults who have experienced rape and sexual abuse.

· Support service users that have been referred to Trust House Reading.

· Support clients in making informed choices about their future options.

· Explain relevant criminal, legal and civil remedies and housing options to clients as required.

· Assess the risk and support needs of clients.

· Develop individual support plans to address risks /support needs of clients.

· Ensure that clients are aware of the services to which they are entitled and advocate for them to help them access services.

· Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults including the policy and procedures in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

· Support ISVA clients through the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within that system, referring to Victim Support or the Witness Care Service as appropriate.

· Support the service user in making a witness statement and attending court.

· Keep the service user informed about case progress on behalf of the police in line with the requirements of the Service Code of Practice.

· Participate in case conferences with the police, CPS and prosecuting barrister.

· Assist clients accessing special measures.

· Liaise with the police, CPS and other service providers on behalf of the service user.

· Provide information and support in relation to Criminal Injuries Compensation.

· Help clients to develop their own support network.

· Refer on and arrange meetings with other agencies/services as necessary, for instance, sexual health services, mental health, drug and alcohol, counselling, housing etc.

· Actively and positively engage with other voluntary sector agencies, including sexual violence specialist agencies e.g. domestic violence service outreach, IDVA and refuge providers.

· Maintain and update records of all cases including initial referral, risk assessment, subsequent risk assessment, care and safety plans, and action taken.

· To understand and assess other support needs of clients, for example translation or interpretation needs and be fully aware of available resources.

· Where an assault is related to domestic violence and the client is assessed as high risk, refer on to Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) following locally agreed protocols (including working proactively with the Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service), attend and participate in meetings and follow-up on actions agreed in MARAC.

· Contribute to the development of policies, protocols, guidelines, strategies within practice area if necessary.

· Collate areas of service gap and service inadequacy to feed back to the commissioner and the relevant strategic groups.

· Note and feed back to the commissioner and the relevant strategic groups or other appropriate body any consistent difficulties clients are having accessing services.

ISVA Person Specification

· Educated to A-level standard.

As a Fundraising  and Awareness Officer she  will help Pathway to achieve the ambitious income generation targets set by the Board so that we can continue to support clients with the lifesaving services we deliver.

She will lead and shape the drive to build new and maintain existing relationships within the community to generate fundraising opportunities and raise funds with supporters  by building great connections and relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Income Generation

· Maximise fundraising and revenue opportunities through community engagement delivering a number of community based initiatives to generate income over the year.

· Lead on delivery of the fundraising strategy to maximise funding opportunities.

· Developing Business links to encourage fundraising from the business community &  to develop lasting partnerships.

· Research trust and foundations and write targeted applications to support our work and achieve fundraising targets.
