Are you looking for a rewarding role working with families who have fled domestic and sexual abuse? We are looking for friendly and diligent individuals to join our refuge team.

We work with a trauma-informed, survivor led framework with intersectional feminism at the core.
The Tower Hamlets Domestic Abuse Service provides emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic and sexual violence. As a refuge support worker you will provide emotional and practical support, such as legal options, housing, benefits and signposting.
You will risk assess and develop safety and support plans with survivors at the centre.
The role is 16 hours per week

Due to the Client and the nature of this role, this position is for Women only.

This is a fixed term contract until May 2026 with possibility of extension

What you'll do:
* Manage customer referrals, completing Dash Risk Assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork
* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere.
* Oversee On Track implementation from an operational perspective during the initial upload of cases to ensure that any issues are highlighted to management.
* Conducting regular Keyword sessions with each survivor.
* Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities

About you:
* Knowledge of the impact of domestic and sexual abuse on women and children

We have a vacancy for a  Children and Young People’s Support Worker to join our refuge team. This is an exciting opportunity to support our children living in refuge to overcome the trauma of abuse in a play setting. You will play a key role in ensuring safety, emotional wellbeing and development for children and young people aged 0 to 16, living in our accommodation. This role suits someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and creative.

You will need to have experience of working with children and a level 3  qualification in Early years or Childcare.

At our North West London Home, we are recruiting a Head of Kennels who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare to provide front line leadership to our team of Kennel and Animal Care staff and volunteers. We care for up to fifteen dogs on site, in addition to dogs placed into foster homes. Our Head of Kennels is responsible for managing the day-to-day smooth running of our kennels and maintaining the wellbeing of all dogs in our care, so that their individual physical and psychological needs are catered for adequately, and in line with our standards and ethics.

This is a high profile and hugely important role for Mayhew as our Head of Kennels oversees each dog's journey through Mayhew from in-take to assessment and then to rehoming. Working with staff and volunteers across the Home, foster carers, adopters, other charities and rescues and members of the public, our Head of Kennels is instrumental in ensuring that our dogs have all they need - from feeding, exercising, cleaning, and socialising to finding their perfect forever home. Leading a small team, our Head of Kennels is responsible for managing all aspects of our dog in-takes, adoptions, fostering and Pet Refuge (read more here), managing our capacity to ensure we help as many dogs as we can and ensuring our dogs are rehomed to a home suited to their individual needs as soon as possible.

Generally, you will:

• Lead and manage our kennels and ensure the very best care and support is given to each of our dogs
• Proactively, collaboratively and resourcefully maintain relationships with volunteers, foster carers, adopters, other rescue managers and other colleagues in the wider Mayhew community
• Manage your team in an inclusive and collaborative way, enabling and empowering them
• Engage and collaborate with senior staff to ensure effective delivery of our strategic and operational goals

To be successful in this role, you need relevant experience in:

• Experience working with dogs, preferably in a shelter environment
• Knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare
• Experience of successfully motivating, managing, and developing a high performing team and managing performance
• Experience of effectively managing competing and changeable priorities, a high workload and multiple complex issues and tasks

The Cathedral has a particular responsibility to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Cathedral community. It shares this responsibility with the Diocese of St Albans. This work is wide‑ranging, and the Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) plays a central role in maintaining good safeguarding practice.

This part‑time role (15 hours per week) becomes vacant as the current postholder retires after four years, with time planned for handover with the person appointed to the role now. The CSO works with senior staff and the governing body to help lead policy development, training, reporting, and compliance with Church of England guidance. They report to the Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care and receive regular professional supervision from the National Safeguarding Team, with occasional networking with other CSOs.

Safeguarding is recognised as a shared leadership responsibility. The CSO meets weekly with senior clergy to review cases and will also work with the newly appointed non‑executive Safeguarding Lead on Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body.

A core part of the role is promoting safeguarding awareness across the Cathedral community and understanding all activities involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The CSO provides professional advice on concerns raised, ensuring responses follow law and national policy, and works closely with diocesan and national safeguarding teams on complex cases. They also ensure appropriate support for survivors and proper management of those who pose risk.

About You

The Cathedral is seeking candidates with strong knowledge and professional experience in relation to safeguarding issues and proven experience working collaboratively in teams.

The post will require some flexibility in working patterns and will therefore require occasional weekend working and the ability to respond to urgent cases.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

As a Volunteer & Community Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for recruiting, inducting and supporting volunteers, ambassadors and community supporters. You will be proactive, organised and people-focused, with the ability to maintain accurate records and work to deadlines. You will deliver volunteer training (including safeguarding, confidentiality and MK-ACT services) and ensure volunteers are matched to roles that suit their skills and interests. You will also represent MK-ACT within the community, coordinate outreach activities, awareness days and fundraising initiatives, and oversee the Milton Keynes network of Domestic Abuse (DA) Champions to strengthen the local response for those experiencing domestic abuse.

To provide specialist expertise on DVA within the Public Protection Unit (PPU) and the local policing unit (LPU) across Coventry and Solihull police stations, covering Solihull Borough. This role will support the improvement of police practice by providing tailored guidance, advice, and professional support to officers and staff, strengthening their understanding of safe, trauma informed and appropriate interventions with women and children affected by DVA.

 To provide information, support and signposting for women accessing WMP  disclosing experiences of domestic violence/abuse.

- Influencing professional practice, including delivering training and awareness sessions

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.  

Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have staff offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.

·To deliver a high-quality support and advocacy service to women subjected to domestic violence, who are involved in private family law proceedings

·To work alongside court partners to help ensure women’s and children’s voices are heard through the proceedings and safety prioritised.

Are you looking for a rewarding role working with families who have fled domestic and sexual abuse? We are looking for friendly and diligent individuals to join our refuge team.

We work with a trauma-informed, survivor led framework with intersectional feminism at the core.
The Tower Hamlets Domestic Abuse Service provides emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic and sexual violence. As a refuge support worker you will provide emotional and practical support, such as legal options, housing, benefits and signposting.
You will risk assess and develop safety and support plans with survivors at the centre.
The role is 16 hours per week

Due to the Client and the nature of this role, this position is for Women only.

This is a fixed term contract until May 2026 with possibility of extension

What you'll do:
* Manage customer referrals, completing Dash Risk Assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork
* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere.
* Oversee On Track implementation from an operational perspective during the initial upload of cases to ensure that any issues are highlighted to management.
* Conducting regular Keyword sessions with each survivor.
* Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities

About you:
* Knowledge of the impact of domestic and sexual abuse on women and children
* Exudes a warm friendly presence and open behaviour
* Experience conducting risk assessments and safety plans

* Works within an anti-discriminatory and intersectional feminist framework

What you'll bring:
Essential:
* Experience working with survivors of domestic abuse
* Understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on survivors and their children
* A trauma-informed approach to support
* Experience conducting risk assessments and producing person-centred safety and support plans

Desirable:
* Experience of working in a residential setting
* Experience of delivering domestic abuse recovery programmes
* Experience of coproducing delivery outcomes and gathering evidence in accordance with them
