Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our team as a Regional Manager. Person Specification
Essential Criteria
· A recognised qualification at degree level or equivalent in one or more of the following: Teaching, Social Care, Project Management, Leadership, or a related field.

We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. What could my day look like?
The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.
In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.
As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

Our Nourish programme supports schools to create a food environment that puts children and young people's nutrition first. The evidence-based, multi-component programme helps schools to develop action plans and policies to cover the food served across the whole school day. Nourish uses a collaborative whole school approach to food involving everyone across the school community to create lasting positive change.
Job purpose
· To deliver Nourish in 6-8 schools in Birmingham (primary, secondary and SEND settings)
Key tasks include
· Support with recruitment of schools to take part in Nourish
· Complete in person food audits in schools looking across the whole school day
· Support schools to create and deliver a food improvement plan (action plan)
· Develop and deliver workshops in schools to staff, parents and students based on their action plan (e.g. assemblies, cooking sessions, school food standards training, packed lunch advice, food ed/sensory tasting sessions)

This is a grant funded role, fixed term for two years, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent role should funding allow.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across Scotland. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.
The successful candidate will also lead on support for young people living with Duchenne during 2 key transition points (primary to secondary school stage and moving into adulthood). They will work closely with the England-based Transitions Coordinator to deliver a joined-up programme of support across the UK.
Specific Tasks:
1. Proactive Family Support
- Initiate contact with newly registered families within agreed timeframes (email within 3 working days, call within 7–10 working days)
- Contact to be made to all registered Action Duchenne members, knows to us in Scotland, to ensure the current support offer is clear
- Provide ongoing support tailored to individual needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, housing, financial security, self-esteem and respect, decision-making, social engagement, quality of life, and access to care
- Use the Action Duchenne Assessment Form and Action Plan to identify and respond to areas of concern
2. Transitions Support
· Lead transition support across all nations, with a focus on Scotland, for children and young people facing key life changes, including:
· Moving between educational settings such as primary to secondary
· Transitioning from paediatric to adult health services
· Changes in mobility and independence (e.g. transitioning to using powerchairs)
· You will lead, but expected to work collaboratively with the England-based Transition Coordinator to ensure consistency and continuity of support across the UK
· Develop resources, guidance, and workshops to support families through transitions
3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement
· Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security)
· Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress
· Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call.
4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery

The BACCH Education and Training Administrator is a newly created role supporting the British Association for Community Child Health (BACCH), a specialty group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. This role will take the lead on setting up and delivering educational courses and events for clinicians working in Community Child Health, including webinars, regional events, and the BACCH Annual Scientific Meeting.
Reporting to the BACCH Executive Officer, you will coordinate the development of a structured education and training offer, manage logistics for online and in-person courses, and support initiatives such as trainee-led learning and paid short courses. You will also support BACCH’s six affiliated specialist groups with administrative and event coordination as needed.
The role requires a highly organised and self-motivated individual with experience in event planning, digital platforms, and administrative systems. You’ll also maintain contact databases, filing systems, and internal procedures, while providing occasional cover for the wider team.

Summary
The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.
The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.
The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.
The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).
Every diocese employs a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO)*. Many also employ Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officers (ADSOs). DSOs take the lead on safeguarding matters for the diocese - particularly the management of allegations of abuse by Church Officers**. Some cathedrals employ a Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) or have an agreement with their diocese for the DSO to take the lead on safeguarding operational matters.
In response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) in the Anglican Church, published in October 2020, a regional model was piloted as a means of delivering Recommendation 1. Since the pilot concluded in March 2024, approval has been granted to implement the model across England and this work will begin from September 2024. Recruitment to these additional Regional Safeguarding Lead posts will enable the National Safeguarding Team to deliver IICSA Recommendation 1.

Through our Access & Participation Plan 2025–2029, we have made ambitious commitments to expand our place-based work to improve young people’s educational outcomes and tackle barriers to university access and broader social inequalities.
Our place-based approach focuses on addressing localised challenges such as mental health, pathways to citizenship, access to English language provision, and employment and fair wages. We work in close partnership with South London Citizens to achieve this shared mission. This role leads the development and delivery of collaborative, community-led initiatives and supports the wider integration of this approach across King’s. Through these initiatives, the postholder empowers community members to design, launch, and sustain impactful campaigns that respond directly to local needs. They will work closely with Citizens UK organisers and colleagues across King’s to build strong partnerships and drive meaningful, place-based change, including engagement in broader local, regional, and national initiatives.
Using community organising methodology, the postholder will lead and expand our core place-based programmes: Parent Power South London and Empoderando Familias, delivered with South London Citizens, and EmpowerESOL, facilitated in collaboration with internal King’s teams. Martingale Postgraduate Foundation (Martingale) exists to fund and support the next generation of talented researchers. We believe that family income should not be a barrier to the pursuit of excellence, and our mission is to enable and nurture talented individuals from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to thrive within world-leading postgraduate research.
Martingale’s flagship programme is the Martingale Postgraduate Scholarship, which supports students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue and excel in postgraduate degrees, by providing:
- A fully-funded Living Wage Scholarship to pursue a one-year Masters degree or a four-year PhD.
- All tuition fees and research expenses, including a tax-free stipend for living costs.
- Tailored support to apply for Martingale courses at our partner universities.
- Access to Martingale programmes, including leadership training and connections with top academic and industry professionals.
- Membership of a pioneering community of talented researchers.
In the three years since Martingale launched, we are now supporting over 100 Scholars to undertake postgraduate degrees across our ten partner universities and have committed over £7.7m in Scholarships. We are continuing to expand our offer, bringing on new partners each year.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative Head of Communications and External Engagement to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping Martingale’s external profile, strategic partnerships, and policy influence.
As Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will join our growing senior management team, overseeing several critical aspects of Martingale’s work: communications and recruitment; partnerships and fundraising; and policy and advocacy. Working closely with the CEO, you will oversee all aspect of Martingale’s external communications and engagement to ensure Martingale’s success.
You will set the strategic direction of Martingale’s external positioning, working closely with the CEO on a day-to-day basis to ensure that our communications, partnerships and policy activity is aligned and meeting Martingale’s mission. You will ensure that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government.
We are looking for a strong communicator with extensive leadership experience including line management, partnership management and external relations. You will bring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a strong alignment with Martingale’s mission. Martingale Foundation is incubated by Purposeful Ventures who provide operational and strategic support. The Head of Communications and External Engagement will be employed by Purposeful Ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and deliver a clear, bold strategy for communications, policy, and partnerships aligned with Martingale’s vision and growth.
- Lead the development of Martingale’s voice, ensuring consistency across all external channels and stakeholder interactions.
- Act as a senior leader within the organisation, contributing to overall strategic planning.
Communications & Brand
- Oversee all external communications, campaigns and media engagement, strengthening Martingale’s profile and influence.
- Manage content strategy, digital channels, storytelling and brand evolution.
- Ensure high-quality and accessible communications across print, digital, and in-person events.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain and grow relationships with Martingale’s university, philanthropic, and other partners.
- Collaborate with the CEO on fundraising engagement strategies and impact storytelling.
- Oversee ambassador engagement and support Martingale’s national and regional events.
Policy & Advocacy
- Lead Martingale’s policy and advocacy work to shape the future of postgraduate access and equity.
- Along with the CEO, represent Martingale in external forums, responding to consultations and influencing key stakeholders in research and education policy.
- Collaborate with researchers and partners to generate evidence and drive systems change.
Team Leadership & Management
- Line manage team leads across communications and partnerships, with oversight of a team of four.
- Support the professional development of the team, ensuring alignment with Martingale’s values and goals.
- Foster a collaborative, agile, and inclusive culture within and across teams.
- The post holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role as requested by the line manager.

Experience and skills
Essential
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences including senior stakeholders.
- Significant senior-level experience in communications, policy, or external relations within a mission-driven organisation.
- Proven experience line managing a multi-person team, including managing people who manage others.
- Strong track record of developing and delivering high-impact external engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication skills — strategic thinking combined with hands-on content expertise.
- Experience managing and cultivating high-value partnerships or donor relationships.
- Understanding of UK education, social mobility, or research funding landscapes.
- Proven experience in account management, managing multiple external stakeholder relationships and partnerships successfully.
- Advanced IT proficiency: Spreadsheet, Word Processing, CRM or Databases, Email, Web-based applications.
Desirable
- Experience working with or within higher education or research organisations.
- Familiarity with charity fundraising or philanthropic communications.
- Experience delivering communications in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Experience in working with governance boards and/or trustees.
- Experience delivering / overseeing ambitious recruitment campaigns.

Benefits:
- 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after two years of service and to 30 days after three years of service. This entitlement is pro rata for part-time employees. This entitlement excludes bank holidays.
- Full office closure between Christmas and New Year.
