Head of Fundraising

National Role

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead our fundraising strategy and team to secure significant, multi-year income from major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates. You’ll be responsible for expanding our funding base including with high-net worth individuals, deepening key relationships, and ensuring STEM Learning has the partnerships and resources to achieve its mission.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven leader who will take ownership for identifying opportunities for new funds and contribute to the overall fundraising strategy of STEM Learning. You’ll have:

• A strong track record of securing significant income from high-net-worth individuals and trusts and foundations.
• The confidence and gravitas to engage senior stakeholders, trustees, and C-suite decision-makers and must be comfortable ‘making the ask’.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a collaborative, values-driven approach.
• Experience leading and empowering teams to achieve shared goals and maintain momentum.
• Creativity, resilience, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for and understanding of the power of STEM education and enrichment is desirable.
• Experience of establishing or maintaining a Fellowship programme is desirable, but not essential.

Schools Coordinator

We are seeking an organised and passionate Schools Coordinator to work with the UK’s leading children’s charity, working to prevent abuse, support young people and protect every child from harm.

Position: Schools Coordinator

Location: Home based, ideally in the central East Midlands areas of Leicestershire/Warwickshire, travel required.

Salary: £28,337 - £31,485 full time equivalent plus home working allowance

Hours: Part time, 28.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a national children’s charity delivering impactful programmes and services through schools and education settings. The Schools Service plays a key role in helping children understand abuse, recognise unsafe situations and know where to turn for support.

Working within a regional team, you will coordinate and deliver the schools offer across a designated area, building strong relationships with schools, volunteers and local partners to maximise reach and impact.

The role is home based, with regular travel across the East Midlands. Access to your own car and home broadband is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and delivering the schools programme within a local area
• Building relationships with primary, secondary and non-mainstream schools
• Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to deliver workshops and presentations
• Working towards agreed KPIs, targets and reach plans
• Acting as a key contact for schools and external stakeholders
• Ensuring safeguarding procedures and organisational standards are followed at all times
• Supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
• Representing the organisation at meetings, events and community activities
• Working collaboratively with regional and national colleagues to maximise service impact

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates from a range of backgrounds, including education, safeguarding, project coordination, volunteer management, community engagement, sales, marketing or the charity sector.

You will ideally have:

• Experience delivering programmes or services within education, safeguarding or similar settings
• Experience working towards targets and objectives
• Experience recruiting, coordinating or supporting volunteers
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Good understanding of safeguarding procedures and child-centred practice
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Confidence working independently and remotely
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office systems
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
• A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people

This organisation works to prevent child abuse and neglect and supports children and families across the UK through education, campaigning, safeguarding and direct services. Their Schools Service helps children understand their rights, recognise abuse and know where to access support through engaging and impactful school-based programmes.

Partnerships Coordinator - TechFirst (London or South East Region)

We're looking for two Partnerships Coordinators to develop and manage relationships with employers, technology organisations, universities, activity providers, and volunteers who can support delivery of the TechFirst programme.

Working as part of a regional delivery team, you will help create a vibrant network of partners who provide inspiring activities, industry insights, mentoring, volunteering, and career-related learning opportunities for young people.

STEM Learning’s vision is a world-leading STEM education for all young people across the UK. We are dedicated to improving young people’s lives through the power of STEM and believe great STEM education builds knowledge and skills that are vital for everyone.

To achieve this, we provide a range of support to formal and informal education, including subject-specific professional development for teachers and other educators, quality assured resources, support for STEM Clubs, and student-facing experiences. We also lead the STEM Ambassadors programme, which enables 28,000 volunteers to share their enthusiasm and expertise with young people and teachers throughout the UK via classroom activities, career talks, etc.

TechFirst is a new national, government funded programme helping young people develop technology skills, explore future careers, and build confidence through meaningful engagement with employers and industry professionals.

By bringing together schools, employers, volunteers, and community partners, we help ensure young people can access high-quality opportunities regardless of their background.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and supporting employer and delivery partners across the region.

Working closely with the Education Engagement Coordinator and Events and Communications Officer, you will ensure schools have access to a wide range of high-quality activities, volunteers, speakers, mentors, and industry experiences.

You will build long-term partnerships that contribute to programme growth, quality, and impact.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, account management, or business engagement.

You will be confident engaging with employers and external stakeholders, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Highly organised and proactive, you will be comfortable managing multiple partnerships and identifying opportunities to increase engagement and impact.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with people, creating opportunities, and contributing to positive outcomes for young people.

The role holder will be required to undertake travel across the region and occasional evening events.

Opportunities will include delivery of specialised interventions, taking direct referrals and helping to support & stabilise those at heightened risk and/ or living through mental health crisis, plus psychoeducation workshops and group programmes will further enable you to engage, empower & support participants to build confidence, develop skills, strategies & achieve goals to improve, maintain & best manage mental health, increase mental wellbeing, and reduce and/ or prevent future crisis.

elop is a well established thriving and award-wining London based community-led LGBTQ+ mental health & wellbeing charity offering a range of high-quality and professional mental health, counselling and wellbeingsupport services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBTQ+) communities. 

There will be one regular evening/ week and occasional other evenings and weekend working required.

NB: There will initially be both in-person office-based working with some remote home-based working required whilst we’re awaiting completion of building works and relocation to new premises
