About the role
As Spear expands its reach across the North, our Northern Development Coach will focus on two things: equipping young people facing barriers to employment with the confidence, mindset and skills to move into sustainable work, and developing the coaches around you to do the same.
To do this, you will work across Spear Centres throughout the region - delivering coaching sessions directly with 16–24-year-olds as well as supporting and upskilling Spear Centre teams
Key information:
- Salary: from £27,000
- Full-time, 12-14 month Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of extension
- 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days) plus bank holidays (pro rata)
- Closing date: We interview on a rolling basis and will close the role early if we find the right candidate

Person Specifiction
- A practising Christian, passionate about personally representing the values and beliefs of Spear, and our mission to equip and support young people facing barriers to employment
- Demonstrable experience as a coach, or a background in youth work or teaching, and are keen to develop these skills further
- A heart for young people and releasing their potential, no matter what challenging circumstances they are facing
- Effective interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with a sense of humour and fun
- Exercises initiative, highly self-motivated, flexible and a forward planner
- Good administrative and organisational skills, and prioritises workload effectively
- Works well under pressure with the ability to exercise initiative

About the Role
As Clinical Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the clinic, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversight of all clinical areas and standards
- Leadership, supervision, and safeguarding of the nursing team
- Coordinating doctors, surgeons, and anaesthetists
- Acting as the main point of contact for clinical and safeguarding matters
- Contributing as a core member of the clinic’s supervisory team
You will be supported by well-established protocols, robust support systems, and a bespoke training programme designed around your clinical background. Prior experience in sexual and reproductive health is welcomed but not essential, as full specialist training will be provided.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical colleagues who empower clients to make informed reproductive choices that are right for them—ensuring no one is left behind.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience leading and supporting clinical teams
- Confidence working autonomously and using your own initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent record-keeping and documentation standards
- Sound clinical knowledge with strong analytical ability
- Effective time management and workload prioritisation skills
- A proactive approach to risk management
- Good general IT skills (training on internal systems provided)
