About the Children and Young People Area

Our programme offers a wide range of activities for migrant, asylum-seeking and refugee families, children and young people. These include English classes, mentoring, creative workshops and group trips. We help children and young people secure places in nurseries, schools, colleges and universities, boost educational attainment and make friends while learning, creating and discovering talents. For parents, we offer tailored advice, advocacy and workshops that connect families with essential services, including support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and emergency assistance.

About the Role The Youth Media & Campaigns Volunteer will work closely with the Youth Project Coordinator to strengthen the voice and visibility of the Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) SPACE. This role goes beyond publicity, it’s about helping to grow our online presence,  experiment with creative ideas, and bring a modern, dynamic touch to the way we connect with people and partners.

Main tasks and responsibilities

● Support the Youth Worker & Mentor to plan and deliver the LAYF SPACE Workshops and facilitate sessions in Spanish/Portuguese. This would include session space set up, registration, welcoming young people, co-facilitation and assisting the Youth Worker with managing the group.

● Support with the translation of existing and new resources or comms material from English to Spanish/Portuguese.

● Support with monitoring the impact of activities and evaluating the young people's progress by giving out questionnaires, feedback forms and collecting information for case studies

● Adhere to IRMO’s Safeguarding procedures and report any safeguarding concerns. We are looking for someone who is/has: ● Fluent in English and Spanish (essential) and Portuguese (desirable).

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

● Competence in online video conferencing tools (Zoom, Skype, Google Meets), Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills in English & Spanish and/or Portuguese.

● Experience using social media or digital tools for activism.

● Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.

● Organisation and planning skills.

● Confident and enthusiastic about working in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

Thames Rivers Trust is looking for a new Trustee.

We are especially interested in people with a scientific background, ideally in Freshwater Ecology, Environmental Biology,

Environmental Science, Aquatic Conservation or Zoology.

We are looking to increase our Trustee Board's diversity and skillsets; strengthening TRT for a resilient future and supporting our mission to bring together organisations across the Thames River Basin, and foster collaborative working to benefit the environment, wildlife and communities.

This voluntary role is open to all qualifying individuals, including those with no previous Board or Trustee experience. Who are we? TRT is a registered charity founded in 1986 and is part of The Rivers Trust movement. We are a Hub Trust for the Thames catchment, with our Key Partners we are dedicated to improving the Thames and its tributaries for the benefit of wildlife, communities and the environment. Rivers are vital, we all need cold, clean and plentiful water to thrive; for communities, for business, for farming and for a wealth of wildlife species; yet our rivers are facing a multitude of serious threats and challenges. Together we and our partners are striving at many levels to preserve and improve rivers now and for the future in the Thames catchment. Our most recent flagship project was the successful Thames Catchment Community Eels Project, led by TRT this pilot project worked closely with 3 fellow rivers trusts, Zoological Society of London and Thames Estuary Partnership to strategically identify priority barriers for works to make migration upstream possible for the critically endangered European eel, trial a new citizen science ObstacEELS, monitor elver migration and run extensive hands on community and school eel education outreach. The project has led on to an exciting upscaled National Lottery Heritage Fund funded phase 2 project Development Phase, that is about to start! TRT is the convening body for the Thames Catchment Forum. This interactive regional forum brings together 27 catchment partnership hosts within the Thames for shared learning and development, themed panel discussions, expert guest speakers and Water Frame Directive updates from Thames Water and the Environment Agency, looking at issues and proposing solutions. TRT works in partnership, leading our Key Partners group of 11 organisations that through the group are more informed to do more and better from mutual trust and openness, sharing their specialist knowledge and expertise. This leads to development of strong, evidence-based projects at scale to improve Thames rivers and educate and involve local communities. Together we achieve more, increasing our positive impact sooner.

This involves the Board of Trustees making decisions together, acting in the interests of the charity. Some charity trustees see their role as turning up to 4 meetings a year, but engaged trustees do a lot more than that. A Trustee might support a specific project’s development, attend events to network and represent TRT, have oversight of an area of TRT work that aligns with a trustee’s particular specialism and interest. Our Trustees use their skills, knowledge and experience to support TRT, helping the charity achieve its aims. Trustees also often learn new skills during their time on the Board.

What are we looking for? An applicant with a scientific background, ideally in Freshwater Ecology, Environmental Biology, Environmental Science, Aquatic Conservation or Zoology. A strong interest in the environment is essential and an interest in or knowledge of the Thames Catchment would be beneficial; in addition, do you possess any of the following skills or qualities? • Fundraising • Legal • A willingness to participate in discussions and decision making. Project overview: 

Alfriston Outreach Service is dedicated to supporting older and vulnerable people in Kingston to live independently at home. We provide services such as hot lunch delivery, shopping, and laundry, helping people remain safe and well in their own homes. Alongside this, we run our new ‘Lunch and Learn’ programme — a time-limited series of sessions where service users are invited into the centre for a shared meal followed by a skills-based workshop. Topics include digital skills, money management, wellbeing, and access to relevant local services. The aim is to build confidence, develop practical skills, and support people to connect with wider community services, ensuring positive progression and avoiding long-term dependency. 

About us:

Mind in Kingston supports people with mental health issues and raises awareness within Kingston and surrounding areas. We provide comprehensive training, supervision, and opportunities for career development. 

Volunteers are extremely valued within our team and a vital part of our service delivery. We welcome applications from people from all walks of life, including those who may have personal or professional experience of mental health. While lived experience can bring valuable perspective, it is not a requirement for volunteering with us. Our focus is on providing volunteers with the training, guidance and supervision they need to feel confident in their roles and to develop their skills. Volunteers are supported to succeed and offered opportunities to connect with trustees, staff and other volunteers both professionally and socially. Above all, we value the contribution volunteers make to our community and are committed to recognising their achievements. 

Main purpose of the role: 

• Welcome and engage with service users attending the Lunch and Learn sessions. 

• Help create a friendly and supportive environment that encourages confidence, participation, and positive social interaction. 

• Assist with the smooth running of both the lunch and learning elements of the session. 

• Support service users to take part in activities, while encouraging independence and signposting to staff where needed. 

Tasks will include: 

• Supporting set-up and planning for service users before they arrive. 

• Greeting service users on arrival and guiding them to seats or facilities if required. 

• Serving lunch and helping to create a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. 

• Chatting with service users and encouraging their participation in the session, referring any questions or concerns to staff. 

• Assisting the speaker/facilitator during the learning activity (e.g. handing out materials, supporting group engagement). 

• Helping with clear-up after the event has finished. 

• Maintain knowledge of local services for signposting. 

• Reporting risks & safeguarding concerns. 

• Maintain regular contact with the supervisor. 

• Attend meetings and supervision sessions. 

What you will receive in return: 

• Training in skills that will include mental health awareness and boundaries. 

• Training in adult safeguarding and local procedures. 

• Training for any other skills as identified by yourself and your supervisor. 

• Regular check-in with your supervisor, reflective supervision, and managerial support.

What we expect from you: 

• Commitment for at least six months. 

• Completion of required training. 

• Adherence to Mind in Kingston’s policies (e.g., confidentiality, safeguarding). 

• Proactive engagement with your supervisor for support. 

Application Process: 

• Two recent references are required. 

• An enhanced DBS check is necessary. 

We ask volunteers for two references, one of which must come from someone who has supervised you recently in your work or studies, such as a current or previous employer or a tutor. You will also need to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, as you will be working with vulnerable adults.

Histiocytosis UK are seeking Expressions of Interest from Parents, Patients and Professionals for positions on the Advisory Panel to the Board of Trustees.

Advisory Panel Members are appointed for one year, attending a minimum of 2 meetings (one in person and one virtual). Their role is to help steer the charity to ensure that no one should die of histiocytosis and to represent patients and professionals in the histiocytosis field. Advisory Panel members can apply to join the Board of Trustees ( for two years). The current vacancies have arisen because some members have come to the end of their terms of service.

The APM appointments are to the General Portfolio Team, we would also be particularly interested to hear from those who would be happy to take up either Financial/Banking or Scientific Research Portfolios should they be offered the opportunity to join the Board of Trustees.
