Main purpose of post
 To provide effective administrative support across the organisation, which will
include minute taking and completion of expenses.
 Perform administrative tasks related to HR processes, to ensure the efficient
delivery of HR services and the accurate maintenance of employee records.
Requiring the candidate to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle
sensitive information with confidentiality.
 Work on administrative projects and time-limited pieces of work to help
improve systems and processes.
 Support colleagues from all different departments with increased activity at
key times of the year, such as fundraising campaigns i.e., Christmas campaign,
the governance meeting cycle and supporting our events.
 Providing reception cover at our Support Centre, Cavendish Centre and Charity
Hub when required.
What you do
Administration
You will support the whole organisation with a range of administrative tasks
which will include:
 Completing minutes for key meetings.
 Processing of Expenses on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team.
 Arranging room bookings both internally and externally.
 Support with co-ordinating organisation wide meetings i.e., monthly staff
meetings, away days, including booking venues and arranging catering.
 Supporting with governance committee cycles, preparing documents and
reports as required.
 Inputting data into relevant systems accurately and in a timely manner.
 Dealing with enquiries from patients, donors, supporters, service providers
and volunteers as required in a timely and effective manner.
 Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
 Taking donations in any of the Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
 Support with the administration of our grants programme, including
preparing and issues letter to grant applicants as instructed, updating and
maintaining grant budget spreadsheets.
You will work on time limited ad hoc projects, which could include:
 Creating and implementing new processes, including building templates /
documentation / matrixes.
 The build-up to / during and/ or after a campaign / or event.
HR Support
You will provide support to the HR Manager which will include:
 Maintaining and update employee records.
 Assist in the recruitment processes (posting job ads, scheduling interviews,
communicating with candidates).

 Support with preparing HR documents, such as onboarding paperwork, and
employee letters.
 Coordinate new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
 Organize training sessions and maintain training records.
 Assist with HR projects such as employee engagement programs.
Cover Support
You may be asked to provide cover on the front of desks of one of our sites:
Cancer Support Centre, Northumberland Road, our Charity Hub, Whitham Road
or Cavendish Centre, Wilkinson Street which will include:
 Meeting and greeting visitors including supporters and patients and acting as
their first point of contact for any queries.
 Dealing with telephone, email and postal enquiries across the organisation
 During cover period, you may be required to open and close the patient
spaces, as part of a wider team rota.
 Booking in and logging patients onto the relevant records and databases to
provide accurate data.
 Sending appointment reminder calls/texts/letters to clients as required.
 Co-ordinating the Transport service, including supporting and co-ordinating
the volunteer drivers.
 Managing the consumables within this patient space and ordering
replacement stock as and when required.

The purpose of this role is to support the research team with business as usual (BAU) administrative tasks. This role will not require formal scientific qualifications and the core focus is to help the Research Team deliver their mission more efficiently. The charity’s goal is to spend 50% of all income on research, this presents exciting opportunities to the Research team but ensuring this is spent on world class research which is independently peer reviewed by international experts is a complex process.

The role will involve organising Scientific Advisory Board meetings (flights, hotels, restaurants, meeting rooms, expenses), email and letter writing (award letters,), organising ad hoc meetings and associated travel, arranging training sessions (Grant Tracker), assisting with organising Team days and QoL sandpit organisation. This role will require working across the whole Research Team providing administrative support as required, balancing priorities and liaising with other Teams within the charity.

This role sits within our Research team, reporting into the Head of Research. Our Research team is responsible for shaping, funding, and evaluating research that will drive our vision of people diagnosed with Brain Tumours living longer and better lives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Support the organisation of external research meetings such as Scientific Advisory Board meetings and meetings with researchers, including arranging travel, accommodation and meeting space
• Organise internal research team meetings, including taking minutes and circulating agendas
• Assist research grants team through preparation of outcome letters and communication with researchers
• Assist in maintenance of accurate records for the research team, including document migration and data quality control
• Manage shared research accounts and subscriptions
• Completion of ad hoc tasks to support the research team deliver their goals such as organisation of team training or planning sessions

The Role

As our Research Administration Assistant, you will support the Research Grants Manager, by providing administration support for the Research and Services Team to ensure that Yorkshire Cancer Research supports high quality research and services that directly impacts the people of Yorkshire.

Working with the wider Research Funding team to provide administration support for all phases in research funding process to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research This includes assisting in running aspects of Award funding rounds, management of ongoing Awards including accurate maintenance of records and co-ordinating meetings.

Specifically, you will:

Funding Research to directly impact patients across Yorkshire

• Preparing and proofreading of documents throughout the process.
• Managing applications through the application, review, and outcome processes.
• Fostering good relationships with the applicants, keeping them informed of further requests for information and changes as they occur.

Award management

• Developing strong relationships with funded Award holders and serving as the main point of contact for any issues with Research Awards.
• Maintaining accurate records of Awards and research contacts.
• Updating the award management system as required to manage relevant funded awards, providing support for the awards monitoring process and any review.
• Providing support to the Research and Services Finance Manager to ensure research Award finances and variations of expenditure from plan are recorded appropriately.

Meetings

•  Working with nominated individuals providing administrative support to plan and deliver meetings as required.
•  Preparing and proofreading of necessary documentation and reports as required.

Team collaboration

• Supporting a variety of initiatives across the Research and Services Team as required.
• Role modelling the values of the charity.
• Supporting other teams in the organisation as necessary to achieve charity-wide goals and priorities.
• Representing the Research Funding Team on Award issues as and when required.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be ideally educated to A-level or equivalent, or experience working in a similar position at a similar level
•    To have administration experience and experience of maintaining accurate records.
•  To have experience co-ordinating meetings, preparing paperwork and taking minutes. 
• To have experience extracting information from a variety of sources to prepare suitable reports.
• To have excellent organisational skills, including time management skills, the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple complex projects.
• To be able to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
•    To have IT skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and databases.
•    To be able to travel occasionally within Yorkshire.

About the role

The Senior Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance and improvement of our Salesforce platform.

The Role

Active Together is a multimodal prehabilitation and rehabilitation service that has been developed by world leading academics and practitioners at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) at Sheffield Hallam University and funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Reporting to the Services Manager, The Service Administrator will support the operational and patient-facing functions of the Active Together service. This role involves managing NHS referrals, patient bookings, service appointments, and team administration, ensuring seamless coordination of facilities and resources.

The role involves close collaboration with the Yorkshire Cancer Research Active Together Service team and the Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH) clinical staff delivering the Hull service. You will support the Service Manager in delivering the day-to-day operational management of the service premises. Additionally, you will support the administration involved in onboarding new Yorkshire Cancer Research staff, ensuring a smooth transition into the service. 
 

Specifically, you will:

Patient Flow & Service Coordination

• Process patient referrals and book initial assessments, supporting patient onboarding into the Active Together service.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including cancellations, waiting lists, and transport arrangements.
• Assist patients with completing necessary questionnaires.
• Maintain accurate service records including any Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system data and oversee efficient discharge processes.
• Support Service Manager in the management of monitoring and quality assurance data and processes.
• Communicate with service users and stakeholders to provide information about Active Together.
• Support service users in navigating the program and signpost them to relevant health and wellbeing resources.

Administrative & Operational Support

• Support the development, implementation and improvement of service administrative systems and processes.
• Support team administration, including diary management, email monitoring, postal management and staff induction support.
• Oversee stock control for office and service consumables and manage third-party cleaning and maintenance contracts.
• Facilitate room bookings for service appointments, team meetings, and events.
• Undertake minute-taking for team meetings.
• Maintain a welcoming and professional environment, ensuring high standards of customer service.
• Manage service facilities ensuring cleanliness, presentation, and functionality.
• Report and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with Yorkshire Cancer Research policies.

Financial & Procurement Management

• Process purchase orders, invoices, and expenses as required.
• Maintain optimal stock levels for patient literature and welcome packs, service equipment, office, and centre supplies.

Other duties

• Support service data collection and evaluation initiatives.
• Provide cover during staff absences and assist in general administrative duties.
• Ensure compliance with mandatory training, governance procedures, and service improvement initiatives.
• Be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal and manage the rota for First Aid and Fire Marshal cover

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualifications /experience) to include English Language at grade 4/C or above.
• To have NVQ 3 Business Admin or Customer Services or equivalent experience
• To have demonstrable short courses or equivalent experience in report writing, data collation and analysis of results
• To have experience in administrative role(s) within healthcare or service-based environments
• To have experience of Lorenzo/Patient Administration Systems, databases and information systems

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse.

The Research & Impact Manager plays a vital role in our team, with a broad scope to get to the heart of, and tell the story of, our impact through quantitative and qualitative data. Your role is essential in providing insights and conclusions that critique and strengthen our theory of change and inform programme development. You will also increase our credibility with supporters through robustly-evidenced reporting, and inform the development of our policy and influencing work.

This is a role which encompasses both big picture thinking and detailed design and implementation. You will oversee monitoring and evaluation projects across Tender, engaging stakeholders within and outside the charity. You will also provide research-based advice and expertise to internal teams, using your insights to help inform and develop practice.

Your expertise will strengthen the impact we have on over 30,000 young people every year and play a crucial role in raising the funding needed to continue delivering this work.

Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Corporate Partnerships Officer role are:

• Managing the continually improving the digital systems to improve Tender’s monitoring and evaluation structures and procedures
• Leading the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and processes across Tender, with the support of the COO
• Distilling learning from Tender’s work and wider research into key insights to inform ongoing service improvement, new initiatives, policy work, profile-raising and income generation
• Conducting research into arts-based and other interventions to prevent violence against women and girls (VAWG) and applying insights to improve Tender’s work

Essential knowledge and experience

• Understanding of impact measurement and evaluation, applying appropriate and proportionate approaches, tools and methods to maximise learning at project and organisational level
• Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research techniques and comfortable using them to gather relevant data
• Understanding of the use of theories of change and outcomes frameworks
• Advanced proficiency in office and CRM software, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI
• Experience of data administration and analytics, sometimes from disjointed data sets, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs to clearly explain findings
• Experience of responding to and managing customer expectations, tailoring approach to the needs of the customer and developing new and innovative options
• Experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with diverse range of partners across corporate, public, and third sectors

British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the UK's largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. As a Research Advisor you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our research strategy to life. 

Through our portfolio of active research projects, we fund some of the most exciting and innovative cardiovascular research and the most talented scientists from PhD students to BHF Professors.

You’ll play an active role in supporting the work of our research grant committees, by providing scientific input throughout the research grant evaluation and delivery process and taking primary responsibility for supporting the work of the Chairs and Programme Grants Committee.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Research Advisor, Research Grants Manager and Research Grants Officer during funding cycles and grant applications and awards.

Please note this is a fixed term contract covering family leave until the end of May 2026.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

With a PhD, or equivalent, degree in bioscience, you'll have knowledge and an understanding of scientific and clinical careers and the work of BHF, specifically in relation to research.

With experience of cardiovascular or related research at postdoctoral level as well as research grant evaluation and administration, you'll be able to interpret complex research data and communicate it to lay audiences

You’ll be a proactive member of the team possessing outstanding attention to detail, analytical and interpersonal skills. 

With excellent communication, prioritisation, and organisational skills you’ll be able to meet multiple deadlines. You’ll serve as an ambassador for BHF and its research achievements, promoting BHF and its research funding schemes.

The Scientific and Medical Network (SMN) is an educational charity that challenges the adequacy of scientific materialism by exploring the frontiers of science, consciousness, and spirituality. SMN produces webinars, online conferences, and a regular journal, Paradigm Explorer, aimed at academics, educational professionals, students, and the general public.

We need another member of the accounts team who can dedicate the time to fortify our accounts team and help with operational processes, and with organisational development.

Role Overview: This is a hands-on systems development role that combines operational financial administration with organisational development. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the existing bookkeeper to further bring order and clarity to SMN's financial processes while building a coherent framework within its new Chart of Accounts, that can accommodate the organisation's growing interconnected projects.

The role focuses on improvements such as new invoicing processes, streamlining payment workflows, and resolving banking issues - while helping to develop the systems and structures needed for long-term financial clarity and governance compliance.

This is a mid-level position that blends practical work with systems thinking, requiring someone who can work at both levels to support SMN's diverse activities across webinars, conferences, membership services, and multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Practical priorities

• Help new weekly payables cycle, working closely with Bookkeeper and Director with financial oversight 
• Organise invoices from various projects, determining their place in the overall financial structure
• Initiate payments via CAF, PayPal, and other systems, 
• Manage banking relationships with Barclays and CAF, maintaining efficient access and reporting
• Maintain banking mandates and ensure record-keeping remains clear, up-to-date, and efficient
• Support General Manager with hands-on financial operations and day-to-day payment processing

Financial Structure Development

• Help to implement and refine new Chart of Accounts with SMN Bookkeeper focusing on clear reporting
• Collaborate with project leads (particularly David Lorimer for Galileo Commission) to understand financial structures and reporting requirements
• Develop project reference systems linking budgets, codes, and stakeholders across diverse activities
• Work on 2026 organisational budgets once foundational systems are established

Collaborative Team Support

• Work as peer consultant with bookkeeper Rhanna Lei Cariaga, supporting her professional development
• Support Director Alan Malby, General Manager Andrew Polson , and Company Secretary Catherine Coubrough-Smith in meeting Charity Commission compliance requirements
• Contribute to Board reporting through accurate financial documentation and analysis

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or significant equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience with payment processing, banking relationships, and invoice management
• Proven ability to work with complex organisational structures and multiple projects
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software systems
• Strong relationship management skills for dealing with banks and financial institutions
• Collaborative working style with ability to support team development
• Practical problem-solving approach to operational challenges

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with charity/nonprofit financial management
• Knowledge of CAF banking and payment systems
• Understanding of UK Charity Commission requirements
• Experience in systems implementation and process improvement
• Familiarity with multi-project organisational structures

Working Arrangements:
