Location
This position is based remotely. But you must be a resident of the United Kingdom with all the necessary legislative ‘right to work’ documentation. About the role:
On the back of continued growth due to successful fundraising performance over the last 5 years, we are ready to take the next step in our fundraising strategy and launch a Philanthropy Giving programme. About the role

The Tutor Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications and Media Manager to support all aspects of stakeholder communications and engagement at Action Tutoring. The role will require you to develop engaging and motivational content when communicating with our volunteer tutor network, schools and other stakeholders.

THE ROLE
This is an exciting time to join The Girls’ Network as we seek to expand our work inspiring and empowering girls from the least advantaged communities. As an experienced HR professional, you will be key in ensuring that we recruit and retain great people whilst attaining best practice in our HR policies and procedures.
The People and Culture Manager will provide professional HR strength to The Girls’ Network and be responsible for training and development plans for our team. You will lead on recruitment, retention and policies and oversee and enhance the full employee lifecycle. As a small charity the role will necessarily include some basic administration activities as well as taking a strategic view.
Key roles and responsibilities
Recruitment
You will oversee the recruitment and selection process for all new hires.
- Ensure consistent and appropriate Job Descriptions for all roles (working with the hiring managers)
- Draft job advert and advertise roles in the relevant places, with a regular review of which sites are working
- Review and respond to CVs and all recruitment related enquiries, producing a short list of suitable candidates with the hiring manager
- Coordinate interviews including assisting with interview panel selection and interview questions
- Provide or organise interview training and support where necessary, with a particular focus on ensuring diverse recruitment and being aware of unconscious bias during the interview
- Feedback to candidates as required
- Feedback to candidates as required
- Complete the onboarding process including:
- induction programme for all new starters;
- availability of appropriate equipment;
- compliance with Health and Safety regulations applicable to home working
Staff Policies
- Update online staff handbook periodically to ensure up to date compliance and taking appropriate HR legal advice
- Review policies, recommending changes as needed to ensure that they reflect our mission to be a great place to work.
- Draft new policies and advise on improvements to existing policies
- Support colleagues with understanding and implementing the policies where necessary
- Review HR policy list periodically for completeness, introducing new policies as required from time to time or removing those no longer required.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of anti-discriminatory legislation and best practice, keeping Senior Leadership Team informed
- Ensure a continued focus in this area in respect of staff recruitment and retention
- Enhance good relations and practices towards different minority groups by researching, applying and promoting diversity initiatives and sharing best practice across The Girls’ Network
- Work with all staff to ensure that EDI is considered in all aspects of our work
Performance management and development
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that promotes The Girls’ Network’s values, drives high performance and encourages good quality staff retention
- Ensure staff performance is in place and documented consistently for all staff
- Help colleagues identify and undertake training needs, helping to build a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure a continued focus on well-being and support
Well-being
- Take the lead on employee Well-being, providing direction and support, as well as coordinating the team's activities
- Ensure compliance with working time directives, raising any workload issues appropriately with line managers
- Introduce appropriate initiatives periodically such as a focus on Mental Health awareness
General HR management
You are responsible for overseeing all general administration around the HR function including, but not limited to:
- Ensuring the HR database and software are up to date with employee records
- Processing staff changes appropriately
- Keeping Payroll aware of changes affecting employee pay on a timely basis
- Tracking and maintenance of staff leave records
- Managing absences (eg, sick leave, maternity leave) in accordance with TGN policy and legal requirements
- Handling employee relations including grievances, reporting to Senior Management and supporting decision making
- Managing provision of staff benefits, including recommendations to Senior Management for improvements
- Maintaining pay structure and leading salary banding review when required
Other duties
As a small charity with limited resources, all staff are expected to be flexible with their work and as such you may be required to undertake other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Essential
- Proven, demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience of leading the recruitment process, in particular attracting diverse candidates
- Good working knowledge of UK HR laws and regulations, taking appropriate advice as required
- Skilled in supporting employees with performance management, in particular within a small charity where staff are based from home
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent written skills, including the production of policy and guidance documents
- Comfortable working with high degree of autonomy, often with limited budgets and to deadline

We are looking for an experienced Partnership Development Lead to strengthen and expand partnerships helping to extend our reach and impact.
Key Responsibilites
This role will lead on the business development for the charity’s key initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Work with the CEO, Operations Director, and wider team to implement the strategy for securing income-generating partnerships for 2025-2029.
- Identify organisations and key individuals within them to develop new opportunities for partnerships across the UK.
- Build, develop and strengthen relationships that will lead to increased projects.

- Manage Our Time’s partner recruitment cycle from launch to contract, ensuring you meet goals in our target areas.

Requirements
- Proven track record (5–10 years) in relationship management, demonstrating the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships that drive growth.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector (desirable), particularly in charities, social enterprises, or mission-driven organisations.
- Demonstrated success in converting enquiries into long-term relationships, showing a proactive approach to engagement and stakeholder retention.

Purpose of Role
IBP seeks a Director of Fundraising to drive our organization's resource development and financial sustainability. Working at the highest levels of the organization, this leader will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure multi-year, multi-million-dollar commitments from major international donors. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated success in diversifying revenue streams and building strategic partnerships, along with the ability to both envision ambitious fundraising goals and execute detailed plans to achieve them.
As a key member of the senior team, the Director will provide strategic leadership while managing hands-on fundraising activities, mentor a dedicated fundraising team, and coordinate closely with the Executive Director, Executive Team, Country Directors, Initiative Managers and Advisory Council. They will strengthen IBP's internal fundraising capacity while cultivating external relationships that advance our mission.
Success in this role requires exceptional relationship-building abilities, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of securing large-scale funding from a diverse range of channels including institutions, foundations and High Net Worth Individuals. Primary Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy Development and Execution (50%)
- Setting Fundraising Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement a data-driven fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s broader strategic goals. Set ambitious yet achievable financial targets and ensure alignment across teams.
- Prospecting: Design and execute tailored strategies for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding institutional and individual funders.
- Proposal Development: Lead the creation of compelling funding proposals, pitches, appeals, and other materials to secure funding in collaboration with initiative managers.
- Building and Maintaining Networks: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including high-net-worth individuals, bilateral governments, foundations, and philanthropic groups.
- Innovative Fundraising Strategies: Explore and implement new approaches, such as joint fundraising with partners and sector-based strategies, while enhancing fundraising capacity at country, global, and initiative levels.
- Donor Stewardship: Build long-term relationships with donors through personalized engagement strategies, aligning their interests with the organization's goals.
Donor and Stakeholder Engagement (25%)
- Donor Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full donor lifecycle, from acquisition and engagement to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Board Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for fundraising with the board of directors and Advisory Council
- Crisis and Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for fundraising, including planning for economic downturns, donor withdrawals, or reputational risks.
- Engagement Strategies: Collaborate with program teams to design personalized donor engagement strategies, such as tailored reports, briefings, and impact updates identifying clear roles for staff across the organization that is involved directly and indirectly in fundraising efforts.
Direct and Indirect Team Management (25%)
- Resource Allocation and Budgeting: Oversee the fundraising budget, ensuring resources are allocated to high-impact activities based on data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure proper handling of donations, reporting and forecasting.
- Team Building and Development: Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing fundraising team, setting clear roles, responsibilities, and success metrics. Work with the fundraising working group and staff across the organization to strengthen fundraising activities.
- Performance Management and Reporting: Track and report fundraising performance metrics to executive leadership and the board, using analytics to optimize outcomes.
- Developing Internal Talent: Mentor fundraising and program staff in relationship management, donor communications, and strategic planning, while fostering leadership development.
- Building Cross-Functional Capacity/Culture of Philanthropy: Equip senior leaders and program teams with the knowledge and tools to contribute to fundraising efforts, including impact reporting and donor engagement training.
