Job Title: Community Fundraising Assistant

Location: Alder Hey Children’s Charity, based within Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool. Due to the nature and requirements of the role, the post holder will need to work onsite with occasional flexible working dependant on team capacity.

We also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as our ward musicians, our on-site magician and the play specialists we have on every ward.

Job Purpose:

This role calls for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised person who shares our values. The role will play a vital part in supporting the day-to-day activity of the Community Fundraising Team in undertaking a wide variety of fundraising activities.

Main Duties and Tasks:

Administration

• Support the Community Fundraising Team with the administration of bespoke, third party and donor led events. Including (but not limited to) sending packs and resources out, communication of event information and appropriate thanking.
• Manage the Community Fundraising email inbox.
• Diarise Community Fundraising team meetings, take appropriate minutes and distribute actions.
• Manage the Community Fundraising shared drive and filing system.
• Work with the Community Fundraiser to identify potential Young Ambassadors and create Ambassador Packs.
• Manage the stock control of Community Event Resources.
• Audit and monitor the Charity collection boxes.
• Manage community contacts within the Charity CRM (Salesforce) ensuring they have up to date information.

Stewardship

• Be the first point of contact for on-line giving donors and monitor the online giving platforms including JustGiving and ensure that each donor has relevant communications.
• Manage the donor led event diary, providing appropriate resources where required.

Reporting

• Produce regular financial and fundraising reports on various Community Fundraising Income streams using the Charity CRM (Salesforce).
• Monitor Community Fundraising income and check it’s appropriately coded on Salesforce.

Communication

• Ensure that relevant members of the Community Fundraising Team are aware of on-line fundraising activity.
• Work alongside the Operations and Finance Teams to monitor income.

Other Duties

• Attendance at community fundraising events.
• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Charity’s work, priorities and future plans and act as a spokesperson for the Charity when required, including representing at external events as appropriate.
• Support the Operations Team when in the office by answering phones and serving on the front desk when the office is busy.
• Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

Hub Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of London Hub sessions.

Summary

The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.

The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.

The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.

The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).

Every diocese employs a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO)*. Many also employ Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officers (ADSOs). DSOs take the lead on safeguarding matters for the diocese - particularly the management of allegations of abuse by Church Officers**. Some cathedrals employ a Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) or have an agreement with their diocese for the DSO to take the lead on safeguarding operational matters.

In response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) in the Anglican Church, published in October 2020, a regional model was piloted as a means of delivering Recommendation 1. Since the pilot concluded in March 2024, approval has been granted to implement the model across England and this work will begin from September 2024. Recruitment to these additional Regional Safeguarding Lead posts will enable the National Safeguarding Team to deliver IICSA Recommendation 1.

Our undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like palm oil. We work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Finally, we reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in the cooling sector.
 
The role:
 
We are seeking an experienced and committed campaigner to lead EIA’s strategy, investigations, and advocacy on mining-driven deforestation.
 
The Forest Mining Campaign Lead will investigate, analyse and advocate around mining operations and supply chains that drive deforestation, human rights abuses, and environmental harm. Working in close collaboration with partners in Indonesia, the initial focus is primarily on nickel, and coal with Indonesia as a key producer country and an emphasis on international markets and consumption.
 
The role will develop and deliver governance strategies to reduce the impact of mining on forests, strengthen accountability and transparency, and support communities affected by extractive industries. It will also support the goals of our climate campaign. This work is part of a larger forest program and will support our cross-cutting end goals.
 
About you:

• You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience including proven capacity in leading campaigns or projects in the fields of extractives, forests, environmental justice and human rights.
• You will have strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into compelling advocacy outputs.
• You will have experience engaging with government, corporate, and civil society stakeholders at national and international levels.
• You must be committed to environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and community-led approaches.
• You will need strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multicultural, cross-regional teams. Proficiency in other languages like Bahasa Indonesia would be an advantage.
• Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to travel outside the UK at short notice.
• Ideally you will also have solid budgetary experience.
• Experience of strategic campaign planning and fundraising and experience in investigative research or supply chain analysis would be an advantage.
• Ideally you would have knowledge of mining governance frameworks, trade systems, and financial flows, and familiarity with international policy processes (e.g., UN, OECD, EU, IFC).

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

As the Transition and Recovery Service Team Manager you will oversee the Behavior change, and RISE Teams.

Our Behaviour Change programmes support individuals of any gender or sexual orientation who identify themselves as engaging in harmful behaviours in their relationships and are seeking support to end that harm. They may refer themselves or be referred by a professional.  Service Users may have possible engagement with Social Services, Police, Integrated Offender Management (Male only) or Probation where domestic abuse has been identified.

As Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a psychologically safe and supportive environment for staff working in emotionally demanding roles. You will lead with empathy and integrity, ensuring team members feel heard, valued, and empowered to raise concerns without fear. Through regular supervision, reflective practice, and wellbeing initiatives, you will promote resilience and mental health, enabling staff to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic abuse.

You will support teams to deliver consistently excellent support to people using our services, ensuring contract compliance, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a changing landscape.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of working from home and office. FearFree supports people across Wiltshire, Devon and Gloucestershire. This role can be based in either Wiltshire or Devon, with occasional travel to each of the non-base counties, so a driving licence and willingness to travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide leadership, direction and support to the Behaviour change practitioners and RISE Advisors including leading in recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring excellent management of the team delivering domestic abuse support to high-risk service users.
• On a day-to-day basis oversee the performance of the Behaviour change & RISE Team, acting as the main point of contact for the staff.
• To line manage the team of Behaviour change practitioners and RISE Advisors, providing case management supervision, line management support, allocation of cases and ensuring all staff are supported to meet their full potential.
• To continue the development of the Behaviour Change practitioners and RISE Advisors into a cohesive and supportive team, through the use of open communication, team meetings and coaching. 
• Play an active role in supporting the relevant MATAC process, including attending MATAC Management meetings.
• Additionally, to support the MARAC process and wider information sharing with statutory partners.
• Ensure the Behaviour change & RISE Team works to accreditation standards.
• To promote a culture of engagement, improvement and best practice within the Behaviour change & RISE Team, to deliver a high quality and accessible service.
• To develop and maintain a culture and systems that promote trauma informed practice and equality within the Behaviour change & RISE Team, valuing diversity and offering empathy to victims of abuse, people who cause harm and violence.
• To lead on reporting outcomes linked to the Behaviour change & RISE Team and the support of people who cause harm and RISE service users.
• Carefully monitor and evaluate the performance of the Behaviour change & RISE Team, with a focus on quality assurance.

The role of Retail Development Manager is crucial to the income growth and audience reach of The Children’s Trust retail function. The postholder will be responsible for researching, developing and establishing new income streams to reach new audiences and drive footfall for a disperse network of charity shops, including establishing the online selling of donated and bought in (New) goods; management of online and digital selling platforms and associated stakeholders, ensuring that all compliance requirements are fulfilled.

Role Requirements

• Research opportunities to recommend, test and rollout new online and digital selling platforms. Introduce associated systems and processes to achieve compliance.
• Working with the Retail Sales Manager, identify and source donated product lines and items for listing and selling through online and digital selling platforms. Share learnings to source quality stock to drive sales.
• Create a new online offer to complement and integrate within our existing retail portfolio of shops across Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Develop processes to manage online and digital selling: inventory, listing, pick, pack and despatch of online stock, including organising the logistics for deliveries to customers and collections to meet both shops and customer requirements.
• Manage the development and optimisation of online and digital selling platforms and make recommendations for rapid growth and new business proposals.
• Work with the Retail Sales Manager and Marketing and Communications team to create assets and content that can be used in store, online, through owned channels to maximise opportunities, sales promotions and seasonal changes across the chain of shops.
• Research and implement efficiencies in reducing waste disposal costs for shops estate including items no longer purchased through Rag merchants.
• Research and recommend new income streams for the sale of unsold donated items to mitigate low return through Rag merchants.
• Manage full compliance of the Children’s Trust online and digital selling platforms in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Fire safety, Trading Standards, Retail Gift Aid, GDPR, ThankQ CRM, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding and all other legal or statutory requirements.
• Develop and manage risk assessments and associated online selling policy protocols to prevent reputational damage to The Children’s Trust through digital and online trading activities.
• Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships including supplier contracts, internal support teams, ensuring that efficient and compliant services are maintained.
• Working with Marketing and Communications and Supporter Care colleagues to ensure that the retail supporter journey is optimised and relationships are managed holistically.r

Project Lead

Free To Fly is a registered charity supporting expectant mothers to leave abusive relationships and protect their unborn babies. Following successful fundraising and network-building in Portsmouth, they have appointed Charisma to support the recruitment of a Project Lead, to lead and launch their Portsmouth project.

As their first paid employee, the Project Lead, reporting to the Board of Trustees, will lead the day to day operational, strategic and business functions of the charity. You will be agreeing budgets and managing finances (with support and input from our Board and accountants), recruiting and mentoring volunteer teams, ambassadors, and future paid team members, driving fundraising via corporate partnerships, individual giving, events, and other income streams.
