We have a fantastic opportunity for you to expand and develop your retail skills within a charity environment and gain work experience, transferable to your CV. This voluntary role is a great way to meet new people, be part of a team, gain self-confidence and be a major part of helping unwanted and abandoned animals in need. You'll be working in a popular shop in Trowbridge's busy The Shires shopping centre. 

We currently need volunteer support in the Trowbridge shop on Fridays and Saturdays, operating the till and engaging with customers. 

Role Profile

Our shop volunteers play an integral role in the day-to-day running of our charity shops and the maximising of sales to support Bath Cats & Dogs Home. Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or on the shop floor in a customer facing role there are plenty of tasks to get involved with.

Your activities could include:

• Assisting and serving customers on the till
• Providing excellent customer service on the shop floor
• Creating attractive displays and assisting with the visual merchandising of the shop
• Receiving donations from the public and promoting our Gift Aid scheme
• Other daily tasks including cleaning, tidying, dusting and hoovering 

About You

You will be an enthusiastic individual with a love for animals and charity shops. You will be well presented, friendly and enjoy meeting new people. It is vital you are reliable and trustworthy and able to offer a regular set of hours each week to fit with shop needs. Previous retail experience is an advantage but is not essential. There is a manual handling element to the role so this should be considered on application.

Full in person training will be provided for donation sorting and retail guidelines, as well as our waste management and recycling processes. 

All staff and volunteers are required to complete online Health & Safety training prior to their start date. Due to insurance restrictions, we can only take on volunteers over the age of 18.

About the volunteer role

The aim of our E-Commerce Assistant role is to provide administrative and operational support to the E-Commerce Manager, assisting with online sales, customer service, and digital marketing initiatives

Key tasks

· Product Listings: Assist in creating and updating product listings on our e-commerce platform.

· Order Processing: Assist in processing orders, including packaging and dispatching items.

· Customer Service: Provide support for customer inquiries via email, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

· Compliance: Ensure all e-commerce activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.

· Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the E-Commerce team.

About You

· Communication Skills: Good communication skills.

· IT Literacy: Comfortable using MS Office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel.

· E-Commerce Platforms: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms e.g., Shopify & eBay

· Organisational Skills: Good organisational skills.

· Attention to Detail: High attention to detail.

Experience & skills you will gain

· Experience working as part of a team.

· Experience working within an e-commerce administrative role.

· Gain hands-on experience in the dispatch process, including packaging and shipping.

· Experience in managing product listings and inventory.

· Exposure to customer service practices in an online retail environment.

Role Profile

Our charity shop in the popular town of Frome is in need of a chatty and personable volunteer to interact with customers and manage transactions as a Retail Assistant. If you're a people person with a passion for animals, this could be the volunteer role for you. There are plenty of four-legged furry visitors to the shop so you will also get to meet lots of canine supporters of Bath Cats & Dogs Home!

The NIAS Gallery is a part of the NIAS Creative Campus projects. The Gallery offers experienced local artists, upcoming artists and collectors opportunity to exhibit their works within prestigious city centre locations. NIAS Creative Campus  creates accessible community spaces by turning abandoned commercial properties to temporary useful purposes, for the benefit of creatives and young entrepreneurs. It also facilitates access to premium spaces for creative performers to hone their craft.

We are currently recruiting for two Gallery/Exhibitions Assistants to support our latest artists' led exhibition series in the City of London EC1.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide quick and accurate responses to enquiries by artists and visitors
• Providing assistance to the Coordinator and Artists, including; booking artists, courier companies and other logistic companies to facilitate the exhibition
• Promote the exhibition across all social media platforms
• Assisting with curation/creative decisions & creating promotional materials
• Ad-hoc duties at exhibition; managing guest list, showing guests to exhibition, help with setup and dismantling exhibits, photographing exhibits, etc
• Update marketing and listing information on websites, google, online auction sites, etc
• Any other relevant duties in support of the operations of the gallery

Requirements:

• Have an interest in pursuing a career in events, logistics and fine art
• Have excellent attention to detail and be organised
• Work well in a multi-tasking environment
• Excellent customer services skills
• Having a proficiency with wordpress and/or Adobe Suites
• Amateur photography & social media promotion skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English language)
