This role will primarily sit within our Capacity Building and Standards (CB&S) function but will work closely with our Innovation and Practice (I&P) and Advocacy and Communications (A&C) functions.
The CB&S function aims to build capacity both inside and outside of public institutions to embed the processes, skills, structures and cultures needed for effective public participation in decision-making. The I&P function is responsible for the deliberative, dialogic and participatory projects and processes that we run. The A&C function aims to build political and public understanding of and support for making participation and deliberation an everyday, integral part of our democracy.
This role will have a thematic focus on public engagement in decision-making within the science, technology and data sectors. Candidates do not need an educational or work background in this sector, although it would be useful, but we would expect the successful candidate to take a keen interest in these topics.
Involve achieves its impacts by growing expertise in sector-specific areas where public engagement is important. Science and tech represent policy areas where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital and where public engagement can also open the door to broader deliberative democratic interventions and feedback loops. Technological advancement, including AI, presents risks and opportunities and will be an ongoing priority for government with five critical technologies likely to be central to UK policy for at least the next Government.
Involve has a significant pedigree and is well networked in the area of public engagement in science. Over the last 20 years we have been thought leaders in this space, in particular running the government’s science and tech engagement programme, Sciencewise. We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building.

As Engagement Lead you will play a central role in leading Involve’s work, and building out our strategy, on public engagement in the science, technology and data field. The job will involve leading on our Sciencewise programme of public dialogue as well as supporting, growing and communicating our science and tech public engagement in general. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team and support the Head of Fundraising in maximising income to meet and exceed financial targets. You will maximise supporter engagement and income across all funding streams, especially individual giving, patrons, major donors and legacies with some support to Trusts & Foundations and Corporate Partnerships.
You will collaborate across the Ri to develop innovative and compelling proposals, delivering excellent account management and stewardship to existing donors, and identifying, researching and engaging new prospects.
About You
A compelling and engaging communicator, who is adept at managing a portfolio of donors at different stages – from prospecting and cultivation through to ask, stewardship and retention, you will be able to work at all levels of the organisation to cultivate and develop the relationships that will enable the Ri to achieve our strategy.
Do you have:
· Substantial demonstrable experience working in a fundraising position in the cultural or similar sector,
· Experience in preparing fundraising proposals, demonstrating fundraising success
· Experience of building excellent relationships and networks both internally and externally
· Experience of managing relationships with donors
· Demonstrable experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings, and securing income

You’ll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across Wales. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people in local communities affected by Parkinson’s. You’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with volunteers and colleagues in the wider Wales team to do focussed campaigning and advocacy work.
Through co-production you’ll ensure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers are heard by decision makers.

Head of Content is a new role for the RSS and is designed to enable a more strategic approach to the editorial work we deliver. You will coordinate content across the Society, ensuring outputs and derivative products are tailored and targeted to meet the different needs and interest levels of different audiences. Parkinson’s UK – Head of Major Gifts
Location: London Victoria, SW1V, hybrid working (minimum of two days per week in person working). Occasional travel will also be required.
Salary: £65k - £70k, depending on experience.

Parkinson’s UK is seeking an exceptional and experienced, innovative leader to shape their high value strategy to deliver significant growth in income and the charity’s established high value fundraising.
Parkinson's UK is there for everyone affected by Parkinson's. By funding the right research into the most promising treatments, they are moving closer to a cure every day and are the largest European charitable funder of Parkinson's research.
This role will support and inspire an ambitious and high performing team to build propositions, proposals and pipelines in order to unlock opportunities to engage the charity’s supporters and untap networks across the charity, securing vital funds to underpin their strategic programmes and ambitions for people with Parkinson’s. The post-holder will inspire supporters to give their biggest donation and ensure that the organisation is giving its supporters the best experience possible, delivering an annual income target of £6m+. The role will also play a pivotal part in driving a new multi-year, multi-million pound charity appeal.
Maximising the value and contribution of supporters is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK; building networks, understanding what motivates their supporters, and aligning programmes to their charitable interests is key to the charity’s growth plans for Major Gifts. This role will be critical to leading the philanthropy, trust and statutory, special events and prospect research and insights teams (approximately 18 people) and working with colleagues and leaders across the charity to identify prospects and opportunities to give at a transformational level. The post will also be an active member of the Fundraising Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and a proven track record of securing large gifts. They will also have experience of managing a large annual income target and driving continued growth and ensuring targets are met. They will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire multiple teams to coordinate projects and exceed fundraising targets. Strong presentation skills and budgetary skills will be combined with the ability to build positive and high-value relationships across a range of sectors, individuals, organisations and committees. Finally, they will be solutions focused with the ability to work well under pressure.

Salary: £53,968 per annum, rising to £56,809 after 12 months in London. £49,940 per annum, rising to £52,781 after 12 months outside of London.
