Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the management of our financial, premises and IT/infrastructure resources.  Financial management is at the heart of the role and the successful applicant will lead on the charity’s financial control, planning, compliance and reporting. 

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is the leading advice charity supporting individuals and families primarily across the London boroughs of Lambeth and Merton.  We provide a range of information, support and advice services.  We also work to raise awareness and understanding of the challenging issues affecting our clients and communities.

Experience, qualifications and skills required

Professional accountancy qualification

Degree or equivalent

Knowledge of charity accounting regulations and reporting

Confident user of financial software/systems

Experience of managing legal and audit relationships with external contacts

Experience of managing statutory and regulatory returns

Ability to produce timely reports and meet deadlines

Excellent budgeting skills with experience of managing complex funding sources

Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practice

Leadership skills with proven record of line management

Excellent presentation skills with experience of presenting finance information to non-finance professionals

Ability to multi task, managing priorities and workload

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent IT skills

Terms and Conditions

  • Part time: 3 days (22.5 hours) per week with flexible working options
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Primarily based in our Mitcham office with opportunity for part week home working
  • Salary: £22,800 to £24,600 (£38,000 to £41,000 annual full time equivalent) dependent on experience
  • Annual Leave: 15 days (25 days full time equivalent), plus a charity day and pro rata public holidays 
  • Child care vouchers
  • The charity operates a group pension scheme
