The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. The Philanthropy and Global Engagement Division (PAGE) is integral to LSE’s capacity to realise our strategic direction through engaging with alumni and friends, staff and students, volunteers, organisations, and the wider community to increase philanthropic income for agreed School priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of LSE’s ambitious Shaping the World Campaign, which aims to raise £750m and secure 300,000 volunteering hours by 2030.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic individual to join PAGE as Head of Supporter Relations on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This senior role is responsible for leading a team of eight specialists across three key functions: Donor Relations, Events and Honorary & Emeritus Groups. The postholder will build on the team’s existing success and provide strategic leadership to ensure our supporters enjoy a first- class experience in their philanthropic partnership with LSE.
What You Will Bring To The Role
Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a role involving exceptional donor relations and cultivation and stewardship event planning and delivery, in the Higher Education, not-for-profit, or a comparable sector and ideally within a major capital Campaign context; evidence of excellent communication skills and attention to detail; excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to organise their own workload plus that of their team in a fast-paced environment, responding effectively to changing deadlines and conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate will have:
· Experience in complex event management, including overseas
· Strong leadership skills and a collaborative management style, with the ability to form and communicate a clear vision of the goals to be achieved by a team
· Understanding of and commitment to the highest standards of relationship management and donor stewardship
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in an appropriate manner and format

The Role
The role of a Senior Programme Coordinator is ensuring the smooth running of all programme related events and providing support services to Associate Fellows. This will include having a full understanding of all the SEO London programmes; understanding the relevant industry that the programme supports; how these fit into the SEO London organisation and using this knowledge to liaise with students, young professionals and client/partner firms to run, organise and market successful events.
In turn this role will be responsible for using data to run reports to show the impact of each programme. In coordination with the Programme Managers and other Senior Programme Coordinators, will make recommendations for possible changes and ideas to further support the student and young professional experience. The role will also ensure a seamless and professional level of customer care to all participants.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Programme Delivery and Logistics
· Responsibility for the scoping and delivery of key projects and events based on a strong understanding about the required outcomes from the partner firms and participants.
· Responsibility managing an end-to-end project, including managing to deadlines/time management/project mile-stones, along with resource planning and stakeholder as well as identifying and signing up volunteers, participants or partners for the events.
Participant Management and Marketing and Communication
· Responsible for finding and sourcing more participants via outreach lead, as well as having overall accountability for maintaining and developing strong participant relationships. Accountable for ensuring appropriate employability tools are delivered via the coordination teams.
· Responsible for using marketing techniques to adapt the relevant promotional outcomes needed for both participants and the sponsor firm, including being aware of the full range of channels available and to ensure that the marketing communications is targeted to the right audience, at the right time with the right message.
· The ability to create the right marketing and communication campaigns appropriate for the audience and to ensure it fit the purpose.
· As the main point of contact for the project, ensure that seamless communication is maintained for all key stakeholders (internally and externally) during the project lifecycle including logistics with the students and partner firms.
Participant Assessment and Selection
· Organise and conduct the recruitment, assessment and recommendation of candidates for junior talent opportunities.
· Manage SEO alumni relations to ensure mentoring and training provision for responsible programmes.
· Attendance at in-person and online events, working alongside the AIP team to ensure effective events,
Quality Assurance
· Responsible for reviewing each project or event at the end to identify further opportunities and ways to continue to deliver strong projects across the range of SEO London programme by using polls, surveys and evaluation methods.
· Responsible for ensuring all student, partner, event and volunteer information and feedback is captured accurately and timely in the CRM, as well as ensuring compliance with all the relevant process standards.

We are looking for applicants who have some demonstrable experience in some of the following skills and will be willing to learn and develop others:
· Proven ability to manage projects efficiently and keep tasks and deliverables well organised
· Stakeholder management, preferably including professional corporate partners
· Having a keen interest and knowledge about the industries SEO London operates in, along with having a working knowledge of the student lifecycle (both school and University)

· Database experience and analysing data
· Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - ability to create & edit documents in word, creating spreadsheets, tables & running and analysing pivot tables in excel; along with the ability to manage outlook and create PowerPoint slideshows. Ability to use Teams and Zoom to communicate and collaborate

About the role
We are looking to recruit a talented Business Support Officer to join the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (P&A) team at King’s College London.
The Business Support Officer provides crucial and comprehensive support for the Business Operations team to help ensure the continued success and evolution of the department. It is a fast-paced and varied post that will offer operational and administrative support to cover a diverse range of tasks, from planning and delivering team engagement activity, through to recruitment and onboarding, to supporting on financial analysis and reporting. They work closely with the Business Manager KCL Philanthropy and the People & Talent Manager but will also be a part of the wider Business Operations unit that ensures P&A is an efficiently and smoothly functioning unit.
As a significant part of the role, the postholder will be working closely with the Business Manager to support the work of the Philanthropy teams. The role will work with frontline fundraisers, as well as colleagues across the Department, to support in the processes and administration involved in cultivating and securing philanthropic gifts. They will also play a key role in supporting the Business Manager to drive forward important engagement and coordination across the Philanthropy team. In doing so, they will help support the creation of a high performing culture and allow fundraisers to focus on maximising philanthropic opportunities.
The Business Support Officer will also work closely with the People & Talent Manager, supporting in areas such as recruitment process, developing and organising training programmes and opportunities, and generally supporting on work to create an excellent working environment. This will cover activity in the Philanthropy teams and also more broadly across P&A.
The role will suit an ambitious self-starter who can co-ordinate and manage projects and processes across a variety of work areas within business operations, being motivated by working with both people and data. Someone who can build strong relationships across teams to ensure that ways of working are optimised to support our fundraising efforts and our wider department. And someone who will embrace working in a role that requires a degree of autonomy, in the context of a team that prides itself on its open, friendly, and supportive culture.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 12 months. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- An ability to build strong working relationships, with the ability to collaborate effectively as well as working as part of a large team set-up
- Proven success of good stakeholder management, and comfortable working and communicating with a wide range of individuals, including senior leaders
- Ability to prioritise, manage conflicting deadlines, work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks to deadline
- Highly organised and process-orientated with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to own activities and manage own workload
- High level of IT literacy, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including the use of databases
- Proven ability to synthesise large amounts of information from a variety of sources, interpret and present clearly
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and experience of fundraising and working in a fundraising operation. Familiarity with basic fundraising principles and strategies
- Knowledge of a Fundraising Database (e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
- Experience with advising or supporting on people related processes
