We have an amazing opportunity to join the Community Foundation as Social Value Specialist on a permanent basis. You'll be based in one of our offices across SNG's operating area, ideally Wembley or Bristol as there will be a big focus on working with our London and Bristol based suppliers and community partners. You'll combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance. This role involves travel to other offices and events which will require some flexibility and ideally access to a car.

The Role

The Social Value Specialist will support SNG to embed impact measurement and social value into teams across the organisation, providing a central, efficient point of contact that leads on developing systems, processes and continuous service improvement.

You will engage with supply chain partners to ensure the delivery of social value in contracts and enable seamless customer service using digital platforms and relationships with community partners.

Connect with team members across the organisation to deliver impact reports and support in creating our annual ESG report.

The Social Value Specialist will report to the Social Value Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement a community investment evaluation and monitoring framework, in direct alignment with the community foundation strategy and strategy and the corporate plan
• Work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary community investment directorate and with other internal teams in the customer directorate across localities to embed a framework for social impact and outcomes recording
• Support the Social Value Manager to provide regular social impact and environmental social, governance (ESG) reporting to the communities' leadership team and to senior management and board when required
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation methods and processes for Community Foundation projects and roll out good practice to colleagues and external partners so we can effectively demonstrate our Social Impact
• Lead and support internal teams and external partners in the upload of data such as KPIs onto impact measurement platform for the business, ensuring that information is accurate and easily accessible when required
• Demonstrate strong project management skills to lead and oversee project teams across SNG and with external partners that will bring in external funding
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including funders, businesses, local authorities and national agencies as required by the Head of Service and managers
• Work closely with the communications team to enable a coordinated communications approach that raises the profile of SNG's work in communities
• Prepare and present written, financial and statistical reports to internal and external bodies as required and ensure funders requirements are met
• Demonstrate everyone safe and well everywhere, every day by making health and safety a primary consideration in your decision making

 What we need from you

A good understanding of HACT's Wellbeing Valuation and Social Value Insight would be an advantage, but this is not essential. It would be great if you have some knowledge or experience of working in communities, supply chains and or, monitoring and evaluation.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Finance and Data, you will be an experienced, and trusted professional, who can bring strong financial and data disciplines to the organisation.

· Support teams across the charity with their social content, identifying opportunities to share our research, health information, fundraising and other campaign activities; as well as advising on best practice.

Learning and Development

· Stay informed about the latest advancement in digital marketing, social media, tools and technology. Actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through the charities learning and development programme as well as external learning opportunities.

· Ensure all activities comply with our brand and data guidelines and meet the high professional standards of Alzheimer’s Research UK and represents the values of the organisation to the fullest

What we are looking for:

· Experience of working across social media channels for a medium-large size organisation.

· Experience of using a Social Media Management tool such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Falcon.

· Experience of reviewing and disseminating social media metrics and reports. Experience in project and campaign planning for social channels

The Organisation

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. We exist to end the pain and suffering and loss of life among people affected by eating disorders:

• We help them to understand their illness, support them to get treatment and help them towards recovery.
• We help families and carers know how best to support a loved one into, through and out of treatment.
• And we train teachers, health professionals and other key individuals to spot when someone is showing the early signs of an eating disorder, how to talk to them and how to encourage them to seek and get treatment as quickly as possible.

We use our experience to campaign for better government policy and health service practice that addresses the challenges faced by people with eating disorders, always guided by the experience of our beneficiaries and the expertise of clinicians. The Role

We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and inspiring leader to join Beat as our next Director of Finance and Resources. In this role, you will not only oversee the financial health of the charity, but also shape the systems, people strategy, and resources that underpin everything we do. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding robust and transparent financial management, driving operational excellence, and ensuring that our people and infrastructure are fully equipped to deliver our ambitious goals.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team covering finance, HR, IT, and facilities, providing clear direction and supportive leadership. With direct line management of the Finance Manager, HR & Governance Manager, and Senior Project Manager and Evaluation Lead, you will ensure that all areas of Finance and Resources operate efficiently, sustainably, and in close partnership with colleagues across the charity.

The Person

This role will suit someone who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and impact. You may already be working at Director level, or you may be ready to step up from leading a senior finance, HR, or operations function in a larger organisation. Either way, you will bring the vision and experience to strengthen Beat’s foundations and the drive to help us reach new heights.

• Proven experience working as part of an Executive Team to lead an organisation, shaping strategy and delivering results through cross-functional collaboration.
• Significant experience leading organisation-wide HR strategy and operations, with a proven ability to build an inclusive, high-performing culture. CIPD qualification desirable but not essential.
• Proven experience leading finance in a complex organisation, ideally in the charity or not-for-profit sector to ensure long-term financial sustainability. Qualified accountant (CCAB-recognised body: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent senior-level financial management experience. 
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence colleagues, Trustees, and external partners.
• Sound understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management in a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to Beat’s mission, values, and to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.
