We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Senior Fundraising Manager to build on our past fundraising activity, diversifying income streams and nurturing new and existing partnerships with industry. Working closely with other members of the senior management team, including the Head of Sponsorship and Events, you will help develop relationships with industry for the long term and in relation to our yearly State of the Art Congress, aimed at the intensive care community.
You’ll have a strong track record in building and managing partnerships, securing grants from charitable trusts and foundations, and delivering successful fundraising campaigns. You will be a strategic thinker, confident communicator, and relationship-builder who is motivated by making a difference. Able to juggle both management and hands-on, operational activities, you’ll be keen to get stuck in and make a difference.
You will sit in a small, dynamic and supportive team also responsible for communications and membership engagement, and you’ll work with closely with them to integrate fundraising messages within our broader communications. You will also have a dotted line to other key teams within the organisation, in a matrix-style working set-up.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team to provide administrative and event delivery support across all event and fundraising activities. This will include a wide range of admin and support tasks pre-event, onsite and post-event for the BOA’s flagship event, BOA Annual Congress, and other educational, social and fundraising events, both face to face and virtual, delivered by the team. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive administration systems across the events and fundraising team, corresponding with members, Stakeholders, delegates, fundraisers etc, using the CRM database, updating event and fundraising content on the BOA website, and supporting content creation for social media.

Key responsibilities:
Strategy and Leadership
- Lead development and execution of a fundraising strategy focused on trusts,foundations and corporates (with a possible addition of individual philanthropy further down the line).
- Act as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy, planning and culture, and supporting the Chief Executive to report to the board on fundraising.
- Manage, develop and grow the Senior Officer role; build a high-performing team.
Fundraising and Relationship Management
- Create and manage a pipeline of funding opportunities, securing multi-year grants and strategic partnerships that support our research, policy and delivery ambitions, and reflect our values.
- Lead the development of major funding bids - including drafting proposals and coordinating input from SLT colleagues and other relevant team members.
- Cultivate, steward and deepen relationships with existing and prospective funders, acting as a confident and credible ambassador.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to develop strong proposals, cases for support and pitch materials, including engaging in depth with some of the complex research that we seek to fund.
- Represent the organisation externally — in meetings, networks and events.
Innovation, Growth and Sustainability
- Develop and test models to diversify income to enable impact – building on our current strategy, but bringing an open mind to exploring new activities.
- Embed fundraising monitoring, evaluation and performance reporting into the organisation; ensure transparency with senior leadership and trustees.
- Maintain close alignment between fundraising strategy and organisational strategy, ensuring funder relationships are ethical, values-aligned and sustainable.

- A proven track record of securing significant income from trusts, foundations and/or corporate partners.
- Experience in managing complex relationships with funders, with excellent stewardship and retention skills.

- Excellent project management skills, including the capacity to coordinate colleagues in developing complex fundraising bids.

Terms:
- Reporting to: Chief Executive
- Staff supervised: One team member, who we hope you will be able to be involved in recruiting
- Annual Gross Salary: £64,800 (employees who are not London-based receive the same salary, including London weighting, but cover their own travel costs to the office, typically twice a month)
- Location: Either London-based, with two days per week in Money and Mental Health’s East London office, or home-based with the ability to travel to London at least twice per month. The role will also require some travel for meetings.
- Hours: Both full-time and part-time applicants considered, at a minimum of four days per week. Job shares, consolidated hours and other flexible working arrangements will be considered. Please indicate your preferred working hours on application.
- Contract type: Permanent
- Holidays: 28 days per year (including 3 days between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed), plus bank holidays

About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre
The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s Bankside.
Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.
In 2024, the Centre was visited by over 13,500 people, we hosted 700 events joined by 9,500 participants.
In 2027 we will expand to Chroma in partnership with The Trampery, broadening our impact and reach.
Overall purpose of the role
To work alongside the CEO to meet our fundraising goals by:
- Focusing on growing corporate donor base
- Assisting with grant writing if/when needed
As the year evolves, the role’s focus might shift. We are gearing towards opening a second location at Chroma in Bankside Yards in early 2027, so this role will be key in guaranteeing we grow as planned.
Our biggest fundraising moments of the year are Pride, Christmas, an annual fundraising event (normally hosted in November) and LGBT+ History Month. We are looking into capitalising on these key calendar moments, while developing long-lasting relationships that support the Charity throughout the year.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Support with the development of our fundraising strategy for the next three to five years
- Expand our pool of corporate donors. We strive to work with companies and organisations that share our ethos and are truly committed to our community
- Bring in donations to meet our corporate funding goal of £75,000.00 in the financial year 2025/26
- Design and lead a corporate comms strategy including a corporate fundraising page on our new website and the creation of a LinkedIn strategy that utilises the CEO’s personal page as a key representative of the charity
- Support CEO with planning and delivery of fundraising events
- Ad hoc support with grant writing. While grant writing remains part of the CEO’s responsibilities, this role might be requested to support the CEO with bid writing or editing.
- While the role can be remote, the successful candidate will be required to come to the Centre to meet the team in person once a month on a Thursday

Bexley Deaf Centre (BDC) is a small and dynamic, well-established charity which has been serving the borough since 1994.
