What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborating across the Charity and the hospital to identify opportunities where patient and supporter stories can amplify fundraising and awareness.

About the role
The Head of Income Generation and Marketing will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial sustainability and social impact of our organisation. The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community
Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities.
While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact
Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.
We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre
The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s Bankside.
Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.
In 2024, the Centre was visited by over 13,500 people, we hosted 700 events joined by 9,500 participants.
In 2027 we will expand to Chroma in partnership with The Trampery, broadening our impact and reach.
Overall purpose of the role
To work alongside the CEO to meet our fundraising goals by:
- Focusing on growing corporate donor base
- Assisting with grant writing if/when needed
As the year evolves, the role’s focus might shift. We are gearing towards opening a second location at Chroma in Bankside Yards in early 2027, so this role will be key in guaranteeing we grow as planned.
Our biggest fundraising moments of the year are Pride, Christmas, an annual fundraising event (normally hosted in November) and LGBT+ History Month. As a Support Worker at Ace of Clubs drop-in day centre supporting people who are homeless and facing adversity, you will play a key role in supporting individuals who may be navigating chaotic lifestyles, trauma, and multiple disadvantages. You will provide practical and emotional support, help people access essential services, and work to empower them to move towards independence.
Your role will involve working directly with service users, managing case records, liaising with partner agencies, and contributing to the smooth running of our busy centre. About the role
We are recruiting an Information & Advice Adviser who will be joining a progressive, inclusive and dynamic team, an integral part of our Community Support model, and wider Age UK Merton services.
The Information & Advice Adviser is a vital role that works directly with older people who come to the service seeking information and advice on pension age benefits.
Last year the service worked to support over 800 older adults with information and advice on benefits, health, housing and care, and assisted the uptake of nearly £600,000 of previously unclaimed benefits.
An important part of this role will be to triage initial client needs which have been referred into the service by both internal and external partners, this will then ensure the team provides the right advice and high-quality support, whether on the phone, email or face to face.
You will be joining an accredited advice service (with the Advice Quality Standard), delivered by a high calibre team and you will be given opportunities to train and develop in the role.

We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP New Hall. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP New Hall, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based.
