Senior Project Officer
Scotland
£32,145 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

Contract: Fixed term until March 26 with likelihood of 12 months extension, subject to funding
Base: Edinburgh or Glasgow hubs, and East Lothian Council offices with flexibility to work from home a proportion of the time.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Connected Neighbourhoods team, working in partnership with East Lothian Council to facilitate a strategic approach to active travel infrastructure development and delivery in the council area, as well as providing support with active travel policies and proposals for the council's planning and pipeline projects.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will be embedded within East Lothian Council, working in partnership with external organisations and across council departments to align policy aims and identify and develop opportunities for investment in active travel. You will support the planning and delivery of active travel interventions and provide expert support and guidance to ensure that walking, wheeling and cycling are integrated into strategies, programmes and projects.
The role is based within the geographical area with regular travel expected to East Lothian Council offices and either Edinburgh or Glasgow hubs.
About you
You should have experience in (at least) one of the following: transport planning, land use planning, urban design, traffic engineering, sustainable transport project delivery.
You will be an experienced project manager able to work collaboratively with multiple partners and stakeholders.
You should have the ability to work independently and be able to make decisions with minimal supervision, as well as have excellent report writing skills.
We ask you demonstrate knowledge of the funding context for active travel in Scotland.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to act as a technical lead on all cloud infrastructure and systems which involved complex solution design and implementation.
Role:
• This role is key to support and enable the successful completion of technology projects.
• Lead the delivery of technology infrastructure and its associated projects.
• Support with the Trusts technology governance process and takes ownership of the creation and management of policies and procedures.
• Lead cloud solution design for new systems and migrations through implementation phase.
• Assess technical challenge and risks to identify and communicate solutions that resolve and meet organisational requirements.
• Manage complex technology implementation, system upgrades or migrations and operational troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to safeguard the organisations data and operations.
• Act as a key point of contact for technical guidance and assurance to project managers and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate technical reviews and discussions with stakeholders and working groups.
• Lead of change advisory board proposals and authorises changes.
• This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.
The Candidate:

• You’ll have experience leading high availability and disaster recovery architecture design and implementation across cloud, storage, server, virtualisation, network, and application architectures.
• You’ll have strong problem-solving skills to tackle complicated infrastructure issues.
• You’ll have experience leading on cloud solutions and architecture.
• You’ll be qualified in Azure Administrator Associate and Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• You’ll have experience evaluating, designing and migrating on-prem servers and applications to the cloud.
• You’ll have good knowledge in Identity and Access Management (IAM) practices and solutions including Privileged Identify managements, Authentication policies and Network Security policies.
• You’ll have experience in Azure including, Azure governance, Azure IaaS design, Azure PaaS design, Azure Resource Management, Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
• You’ll have effective communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders in the organisation.

The Role
You'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Service Desk and Technical Services Team – managing people, processes, and performance to ensure colleagues receive a responsive, high-quality service, no matter where they're based.

- Coaching and developing a skilled team of Service Desk Analysts and Technical Service Engineers.
- Acting as the senior point of escalation for complex support queries.
- Embedding a proactive, data-driven approach to service improvement – monitoring key metrics like ticket volumes, resolution times, and customer satisfaction.
- Supporting the adoption of automation and self-service tools to create efficiencies.
- Building strong working relationships with suppliers, ensuring robust contract management.

What You'll Bring? We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in leading IT support teams – across both 1st and 2nd line – in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- A relevant ITIL qualification, a strong grasp of ITIL service management principles and hands-on experience using service and asset management tools.
- Strong working knowledge of contract management best-practice.
- Great communication and coaching skills – someone who can develop others while building a culture of positivity, collaboration, and accountability.
- A keen eye for service performance data, with the drive to act on trends and implement improvements.
- Good all-round technical knowledge of end-user support environments – including Microsoft 365, Windows, and networking fundamentals.
- Is willing to work from our Birmingham Head Office, 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday.

About the role:
To provide engineering and technical support in the delivery of enterprise-wide IT Modern Workplace services to the Museum's circa 1,000 staff, for partners and guests who use the Museum's services. The successful candidate will work as part of the third line team of engineers responsible for the Museum's Modern Workplace across visitor services, operational and curatorial departments.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Microsoft 365 Services (operational support)
- Custom applications (server and client)
- Device configuration and management
- Documentation (technical and process)
- Maintain technology roadmaps and evaluate and test new modern workplace solutions
- Provide operational support including supporting the Museum to understand how core productivity solutions are consumed and make recommendations on how best to improve the end user experience, with particular emphasis on the use of Microsoft 365 Services
- Preventative maintenance ensuring systems are well maintained, documented, monitored and alerts are responded to appropriately
- Utilise ITIL frameworks to deliver services and change control
