This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of Alzheimer's Research UK’s Supporter Experience strategy. This is a transformation programme and requires a leader who can not only lead a team but support an organisation to work collaboratively to enhance supporters trust, satisfaction and connection with their relationship with Alzheimer’s Research UK, recognising the importance of their role in helping to get to a cure.

The Head of Supporter Experience will lead two critical teams who all contribute to delivering our Supporter Experience; the Supporter Operations function which include both Supporter Relations (front end) and Fundraising Operations (back end) and the Supporter Engagement and Journeys team. But you’ll also work collaboratively to improve our Supporter Experience across the organisation – including those who give money, time, voice influence and deliver our mission (partners and researchers).

You will champion, design and oversee the implementation a personal, relevant and tailored experience – either through direct responsibilities or through influence, coaching and inspiring colleagues across the organisation to ensure that we are delivering our brand and supporter experience principles consistently across all supporter touch points and communications.

You’ll bring expertise in designing and delivering marketing personalisation and data automation through frameworks and tools meaning you’ll be data literate and experienced in implementing and embedding a martech approach. But most importantly you’ll be passionate about giving supporters a fantastic experience so that they stay longer, do more and feel like a valued part of getting to a cure for dementia.

You will be part of an Individual Giving and Legacy leadership team who will work collaboratively to deliver a joined-up mass income growth strategy, ensuring that we deliver a diverse product portfolio, exceptional supporter experience, and high performing teams.  

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Experience Leadership:

· Lead and own the Supporter Experience Transformation Programme, providing strategic leadership which enables the successful implementation and ongoing integration of our Supporter Experience strategy across the organisation to achieve its long-term goals.

· Develop a high performing Supporter Experience team, creating synergy and consistency of our supporter relations, operations and supporter engagement (journeys and loyalty comms).

· Coach and inspire colleges across the organisation, working collaboratively to embed supporter principles and journey frameworks to support the delivery of our organisation objectives within time, money and voice, leading for our holistic and joined up experience, moving us away from product / audience silos.

· Work with Fundraising Heads on how Supporter Experience can grow their income, and provide support with income modelling and budgets for long term income forecasts and annual ops planning cycles.

· Representing Supporter Experience on key programme boards and working groups to maximise our internal engagement and understanding of our Supporter Experience priorities and activity, but to also optimise our Supporter Experience by understanding the prioritise across the organisation.

Technical leadership:

· You will be responsible for ensuring Fundraising Operations are integrated, automated, compliant and efficient, not just within your own teams, but also across all of fundraising, marketing, communications and engagement.

· Always champion the supporter, working closely with our Head of Marketing Planning and Head of Insight and BI Teams to record, track and utilise supporter insights and Supporter Experience performance data to optimise our Supporter Experience Strategy.

· Responsible for ensuring we are utilising our martech tools and capabilities, and working closely with Digital, Data and Technology to ensure we deliver the most efficient and effective supporter journeys that feel personal, relevant and timely for our supporters.

· Responsible for keeping up to date on latest thinking, tools and technology for delivering effective Supporter Experiences.

Team management:

· Lead the Supporter Experience team, ensuring clarity of team purpose and vision, and driving high performance at all levels, and ensure the team is structured effectively for high performance and delivery of our growth plans.

· Directly manage your direct reports, developing an effective and joined up Supporter Experience Management team, ensuring all team members have clear, SMART objectives and development plans in place and routine performance reviews are undertaken.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Significant experience of martech tools and the design and implementation of supporter/customer journeys within these tools.

· Experience of successfully managing teams through change and transformation.

· Experience of driving a high-performance culture through clear accountabilities, objective setting, performance management, coaching, feedback, and development.

· Demonstrates high levels of knowledge and practical implementation of fundraising/marketing compliance.

· Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and motivate cross-functional teams.

· Strategic communications planning.

· Experience of audience insight and segmentation principles and use of data and CRM systems to develop supporter journeys and measure and evaluate success. 

· Strong people skills –including people management, influencing at a senior level, and coaching across the organisation.

· Self-management and setting own goals and milestones against understanding of supporter experience strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Marketing Strategy

· In collaboration with the Director of Supporter Led Fundraising and fellow F&M Heads, plan, implement and deliver the 2033 Fundraising & Marketing Strategy.

· Shapes and oversees the fundraising innovation programme, creating the systems, culture, and strategic direction needed to enable a sustainable pipeline of breakthrough ideas that drive long‑term income growth.

· Maintain a central and neutral position across Fundraising and Marketing, ensuring cross organisational alignment and impartial prioritisation of innovation across portfolios.

· Responsible for the overarching Innovation and Online Fundraising in year plans and strategy

· Direct line management of 2 managers.

· Lead Fundraising Innovation team of 5.

Fundraising Product Strategy

· Lead fundraising innovation team of two.

· Support the Fundraising Innovation Manager on their leadership of the innovation programme board FAME, and fundraising product innovation roadmap aligned to driving income growth and supporter engagement objectives.

· Support the Fundraising Innovation Manager to identify opportunities to evolve existing fundraising products and create new digital-first income streams.

Online Fundraising Innovation

· Lead online fundraising team of three.

· Support Online Fundraising Manager in testing and optimising online fundraising to improve conversion, retention and lifetime value.

· Stay ahead of sector and digital trends, translating insight into practical product development.

· Supporter Experience & Insight

· Ensure Innovation and online fundraising teams design supporter-centred fundraising products informed by insight, data and user research.

· Ensure products are accessible, inclusive and aligned with brand and values.

Testing, Data & Performance

· Establish and monitor processes for the team that allow robust testing and evaluation frameworks for new and existing fundraising products.

· Establish processes and ways of working for the team that ensure they use data and analytics to inform product decisions and prioritisation.

· Define and track KPIs including income performance, engagement metrics and ROI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Collaborate across ARUK to deliver fundraising innovation that drives organisational strategic priorities.

· Manage relationships with external platforms, agencies and suppliers.

· Ensure compliance with GDPR, ethical fundraising standards and safeguarding policies.

Leadership & Capability Building

· Lead and develop a high-performing fundraising innovation team and online fundraising team.

· Responsibility of innovation budgets and forecasts.

· Build product-led thinking and innovation capability across fundraising teams.

Budget management and reporting

· Ensure that all financial targets are met and that the team is managed in the most cost-effective way possible

· Compile 3-year forecasts and annual budgets in line with operational planning

· Ensure any necessary mitigation planning is carried out to achieve budget.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

• Significant experience in fundraising product development or innovation, ideally in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Proven track record of developing and scaling fundraising products or online income streams.
• Experience working with testing frameworks, analytics and performance measurement.

· Experience of leading multi-function teams to achieve goals and maintain a wave-maker team culture.

· Experience of managing agencies and suppliers and ensuring all contractual requirements are delivered on time and budget.

· Experience of analysing and monitoring data in a consumer/supporter environment and utilising outputs to advise and drive forward activity.

· Skills in producing evaluations, proposals and reporting on objectives and sharing insights.

· Demonstrable ability to work with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

• Strong product mindset with the ability to balance innovation, income and supporter experience.

What you will be achieving

As a key member of the Academy’s Policy Team, the Senior Policy Officer will play an important role at a critical moment for the organisation. This role will help the Policy team to plan and deliver a new set of priorities for 2026/27. Relevant priorities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Improving health outcomes in the UK and internationally.
• Mobilising the UK health research system to turn discovery into practice.
• Making the UK the best place in the world to have a career in medical sciences.

Within these overarching priorities, there are some distinct policy programmes the incoming Senior Policy Officer is likely to work on, which could include:

• Maximising the impact of medical sciences in prevention and early detection.
• Transforming the generation and application of clinical evidence to speed up translation from discovery to patient impact, ensuring equitable inclusion of underserved groups.
• Making the UK a global leader in responsible, effective and equitable AI and data use across the biomedical sciences.
• Conducting a foresight exercise to identify high-impact innovations that will be critical within the near future and ensure the health system is enabled to support them.

The Senior Policy Officer will be line managed by a Policy Manager.

What you will be doing

As Senior Policy Officer, you will lead on or support a range of policy projects and activities to inform and influence the policy landscape in accordance with Academy priorities. This work may include leading on or supporting the following:

• Major working group studies and corresponding outputs.
• Informing and responding to Government set pieces and announcements.
• Consultations and rapid responses, and shorter position papers.
• Roundtables, workshops, and other relevant policy events.
• Correspondence and briefings for senior stakeholders.
• Working closely with Fellows and other experts to identify and analyse key policy issues, gather data and expert opinion. Construct impactful conclusions and recommendations to advise internal and external stakeholders.
• Delivering implementation and follow-up activities on policy recommendations across external audiences and stakeholders.
• Maintaining an excellent understanding of the policy landscape by monitoring developments and key policy issues, including the use of animals in research (please see the Academy’s statement on the use of animals in research).
• Scoping potential new areas of policy work, and/or identify opportunities for the Policy Team.

External engagement

• Collaborating with organisations from academia, Government, healthcare, industry and the charity sector.
• Maintaining and developing an effective network of contacts across the sector (including our Fellows) to inform and increase the impact of policy work.
• Representing the Academy at external meetings, parliamentary engagements (such as the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Life Sciences) and political events (such as party conferences).

Supporting the Academy’s wider functions

• Supporting the Academy’s briefings and parliamentary monitoring functions.
• Coordinating across a wide range of Academy functions, including its Briefings, Impact, and Events capabilities, to maximise the effectiveness of policy work.
• Working with the Communications and Engagement teams to co-develop relevant outputs and activities.
• Briefing senior stakeholders for high-level meetings and events where necessary.
• Supporting the development of core scripts on priority policy topics across the Policy team.
• Supporting the Monitoring and Evaluation team with monitoring the policy team’s impact.

Job Title: Senior Marketing Officer

Job Purpose:

To drive the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns for Alder Hey Children’s Charity, supporting fundraising and organisational objectives, reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager. The role will oversee workflow and priorities, manage marketing officers, and ensure campaigns are delivered to a high standard. The Senior Marketing Officer will also play a key role in shaping marketing strategy, analysing performance and driving continuous improvement across fundraising marketing activity. This is a broad and varied marketing role which requires creativity, communication and project management skills to help the charity plan and execute its marketing and brand campaigns.

Main Duties/Tasks

Strategic Planning, Leadership & Performance: ·

• Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to shape long-term marketing plans and campaign strategies.
• Provide strategic guidance to ensure campaigns across fundraising teams align with brand, audience insight and organisational priorities.
• Represent the marketing function in cross-departmental planning.
• Develop marketing processes, templates and workflows to improve team efficiency.
• Implement and oversee internal systems for content management, consent, image banks, brand guidelines etc · To continually improve performance of team members encouraging collaboration and sharing feedback and high-performing and positive marketing team culture.
• Lead regular one to ones with team members.
• Ability to provide strategic marketing integration advice for fundraising campaigns

Campaign Delivery, Content & Channels: 

• Collaborate with fundraising teams to plan, create and implement integrated marketing campaigns across multi channels that meet brand and fundraising goals.
• Creative and powerful copywriting skills aligned to the values of the Charity.
• Adapting copy to suit differing audiences and publications, and including digital, DM, print appeals, magazines, brochures, scripts and social media.
• Creation of powerful stewardship content in partnership with fundraising teams
• Collaboration within the marketing team across branded social channels to drive growth and engagement
• Collaborate with the Trust Comms team for campaign and content capture.

Stakeholder Management, Brand & Operations: 

• Manage the production and distribution of marketing materials across external suppliers as required.
• Liaising and networking with a range of internal and external stakeholders including families, donors, our colleagues (including those within the Trust), suppliers (including agencies) and partner organisations. ·
• Upholding of brand positioning to always agreed guidelines.
• Assisting the Marketing & Communications Manager to work within project budgets using appropriate systems and controls.
• Attending and participating in events, team meetings, compulsory training etc.

Other Duties

Reporting directly to the CEO, the role ensures the organisation consistently meets the highest standards of governance, compliance, transparency, and accountability, in line with its global mission and constitutional framework.

The postholder serves as a key advisor to the CEO, board, and leadership structures, ensuring governance systems are robust, efficient, and appropriate for an international membership organisation. The role works closely with member organisations (MOs), regions, and speciality groups to enhance governance practices, ensure policy alignment, and support coherent decision-making across the global network.

The role also contributes to organisational direction by actively participating in the development and implementation of the World Physiotherapy strategic plan and supporting alignment with regional and other strategic plans.

1. Governance leadership and oversight

• Lead, coordinate, and oversee all governance functions and activities across World Physiotherapy.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with the constitution, bylaws, policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Our Partnership Development Officer is responsible for establishing and managing some of our corporate partnerships under the guidance of the Partnership Development Manager (PDM). This role will hold and develop strong long-term relationships with key stakeholders within some of our highest-level corporate donors.

You will also oversee nfpPress, our annual survey of 150 UK journalists across print, digital and broadcast media. This gives charity communications teams systematic insight into how the media perceives them and their work – not just whether journalists know who they are, but whether they want to work with them, and what would make them more likely to. 

Alongside this tracking work, you will contribute to a varied portfolio of bespoke projects for individual charity clients – from applicant perception research for funders, to supporter benchmarking and message testing. In practice, this means working across a wide range of topics and methodologies, helping charities make better strategic decisions. 

Description of responsibilities and opportunities: 

· Leading our nfpPolitics Westminster programme: quarterly surveys of 100 MPs and an annual survey of 100 members of the House of Lords, including questionnaire design, fieldwork management, analysis and client debriefs 

· Leading our nfpPolitics Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland programmes: annual surveys of MSPs, Members of the Senedd and MLAs 

· Overseeing nfpPress: our annual survey of 150 UK journalists across print, digital and broadcast media 

· Managing a portfolio of client accounts across the Professional Audiences monitors – advising clients on their results, responding to requests for analysis, and supporting retention 

· Contributing to the design and delivery of bespoke projects for a wide range of charity clients, spanning applicant perception research, supporter benchmarking, message testing and audience insight work 

· Writing and presenting client reports and debrief presentations, with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations 

· Line management of a Research Officer or Research Assistant: writing objectives, conducting appraisals and supporting their professional development 

· Contributing to business development, including helping to scope and write proposals and participating in pitch meetings 

· Contributing to the broader life of the company, including our monthly Knowledge Meeting, company blog and Insights events 

Who we are looking for:  

This post would be ideally suited to a researcher with at least three years’ experience in a market research or social research role, with a strong interest in the non-profit sector and the professional audiences it works with – whether parliamentarians, journalists, funders or specialist communities. 

Essential: 

· Minimum three years’ previous professional research experience, ideally in market research, social research or a consultancy setting 

· Experience of managing research projects or programmes with a high degree of independence 

· Experience of managing clients or other external relationships 

· Experience of presenting in a professional context 

· Strong quantitative research skills, including excellent data literacy, survey design and data visualisation 

· Analytical skills and ability to interpret research, and explain what it means for a range of different audiences – both verbally and in writing 

· A strong interest in politics, media or public affairs, and an understanding of how non-profits engage with these arenas 

· A strong interest in, and preferably experience of, charities and not-for-profits 

Desirable: 

· Experience of research with specialist or professional audiences (such as parliamentarians, journalists, healthcare professionals or funders) 

· Experience of conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus groups or similar) 

· Keen interest or experience of the not-for-profit sector in one of our international markets (Ireland, Canada or the US) 

· Experience of line managing or mentoring more junior colleagues 

· Experience of using R, SPSS or Displayr

The Role

The Research Policy and Partnerships Officer monitors UK research policy and governance developments, synthesises evidence and supports preparation of clear internal briefings, policy statements and consultation responses.

Reporting to the Research Policy and Partnerships Manager, the role helps ensure the Association’s research portfolio and the Research Academy remain well aligned to national frameworks and governance standards, and that lived experience is appropriately reflected in system facing outputs.

The role also supports the Research Policy and Partnerships Manager in building and maintain partnerships with research funders, medical research charities, academic institutions and health system leaders.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conduct structured horizon scanning across NIHR, UKRI, REF, AMRC guidance and other charity funders to identify opportunities.
• Maintain a stakeholder and policy activity map; coordinate inputs for meetings with key partners, funders/sector bodies.
• Collate and integrate lived experience evidence in policy work (with Involvement colleagues).
• Support partnerships with research funders, medical research charities, academic institutions and health system leaders, coordinating meetings, shared resources and monitoring commitments and agreements

About You

You will:

• Be educated to degree level in a science, health, social science or related discipline
• Have experience of collaborative working with senior internal and external stakeholders, supporting partnership building in research, clinical and/or voluntary sectors

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to help to shape, support and deliver marketing plans for Alder Hey Children’s Charity for a wide range of stakeholders, reporting to the Senior Marketing Officer This is a broad and varied marketing role which requires creativity, excellent communication and project management skills to help the charity plan and execute its marketing, fundraising and brand campaigns.

Main Duties/Tasks

Marketing Planning, Campaign Delivery & Performance:

• Support the Senior Marketing Officer and Marketing & Communications Manager to implement marketing plans and campaign strategies.
• Ensure campaigns across fundraising teams align with brand, audience insight and organisational priorities.
• Collaborate with fundraising teams to plan, create and implement integrated marketing campaigns across multi channels that meet brand and fundraising goals.
• Identify opportunities to grow audiences, engagement and income through innovative marketing approaches.
• Use market research and data to drive continuous improvement in marketing activity.
• Evaluate and share actionable learnings to optimise future campaigns.
• Analysis of campaign performance and audience insights to inform future marketing decisions.

Content, Channels & Brand:

• Creative and powerful copywriting skills aligned to the values of the Charity. Adapting copy to suit differing audiences and publications, and including digital, DM, print appeals, email, magazines, brochures, scripts and social media.
• Creation of powerful stewardship content in partnership with fundraising teams.
• Collaboration within the marketing team across branded social channels to drive growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with the Trust Comms team for campaign and content capture in line with Trust Policy.
• Upholding of brand positioning to always agreed deadlines.

Stakeholder Management, Delivery & Operations:

• Manage the production and distribution of marketing materials across external suppliers as required.
• Liaising and networking with a range of internal and external stakeholders including families, donors, our colleagues (including those within the Trust), suppliers (including agencies) and partner organisations.
• Assisting the Marketing & Communications Manager to work within project budgets using appropriate systems and controls.
• Attending and participating in events, team meetings, compulsory training etc.
