The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to provide strategic support to the student officers within our student-led organisation, and to provide support and leadership to the senior leadership team and our Board of Trustees.
The post-holder is required to provide an interface between the Trustee Board and the leadership team, and between other key decision-making bodies within the Students’ Association, converting policy and strategy into action.
Our CEO will be a source of continuity within the Students’ Association, providing vision and expertise to drive the Association forward towards organisational goals whilst ensuring that the Association is structured to facilitate Student Officers’ work towards organisational objectives.
As a key contact and partner with UHI stakeholders, the CEO is required to work towards aligning the Students’ Associations' progression into the UHI’s strategy. The CEO should also ensure that all aspects of organisational risk are identified, monitored and managed.

Main purposes of job:
● To collaborate with Liverpool City Council in reviewing policies and procedures to embed Good Food principles across relevant departments and programmes of work.

Future Growth Trajectories
The AIM research team is an excellent training and development ground for researchers. Over time, we expect research managers to gain increasing degrees of independence and eventually own work streams as senior research managers.

About the role
As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for delivering sector-leading fundraising, sitting at the heart of a successful team to drive relationships and income from some of the UK’s leading philanthropists.
You will thrive in personally engaging with donors to proactively solicit major gifts, alongside leading and inspiring a team of major gift fundraisers. We have a well-connected and engaged Trustee Board and an experienced fundraising Chair.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a talented high-value fundraiser who brings significant major giving experience (at a five-figure level+), a proven track record of the full donor cultivation journey, including researching prospects, building relationships and securing donations to deliver income.
Management experience would be beneficial, as would an understanding of fundraising for the NHS, healthcare, or a similar setting.
Our fundraising department
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious £50 million campaign to fund the construction of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.
We pride ourselves on being a supporter-focused and agile function, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals. Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises of two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
- Our Philanthropy & Capital Campaign team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on our forthcoming cancer campaign, the charity’s first patron programme, and special events to support these activities.
- Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges.
- Our Fundraising Operations team underpins and supports the entire department.
Person specification
- Significant major giving experience within the not-for-profit sector, or equivalent experience from a comparable sector with demonstrable transferable skills.

Job Purpose:
The Senior Psychologist/Psychotherapist will lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions for service users with complex trauma presentations. As a clinical specialist, they will provide expert assessment, formulation, and intervention, ensuring that psychological care is tailored to the needs of asylum seekers and refugees.
A key aspect of the role is clinical leadership, including supervision and training for psychologists, and the assistant psychologist and caseworker to ensure psychological principles inform all aspects of service delivery. The postholder will drive the integration of trauma-informed practices, contribute to clinical governance, and support outcome monitoring. They will also play a pivotal role in supporting pathways for stabilisation and trauma-focused therapy.
Working closely with the Clinical Lead to uphold clinical standards, the Senior Psychologist will focus on the direct provision and supervision of psychological interventions, rather than broader operational and service management functions. Additionally, they will engage with external stakeholders to promote best practices in psychological care and facilitate seamless referral pathways.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Knowledge:
- Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychologist with HCPC registration or Psychotherapist with UKCP, BACP or BABCP accreditation.
- Further advanced training in relevant specialist treatment delivery (e.g. CBT, EMDR, NET)
- Advanced expertise in complex trauma, PTSD, and comorbid mental health conditions, particularly in refugee and asylum-seeking populations.
- In-depth understanding of trauma-informed care models, stabilization techniques, and stepped-care approaches.
- Extensive knowledge of evidence-based trauma therapies, including TF-CBT, CBT, EMDR, NET, and third-wave approaches.

- Understanding of mental health policy, advocacy, and service commissioning within humanitarian and third-sector settings.

About Waves
Demos is leading the largest trial of digital democracy in Britain.
Trust in politics and politicians is in crisis. Only 24% of people trust politicians to make decisions in the best interests of the country. Polarisation is increasing. At the same time, people want to be involved in the public policy decisions that affect them.
Waves is a €1 million project trialling new technology in local democracy, launched to bring people together to tackle contentious local issues and strengthen trust in local government. Thousands of local people will have the opportunity to shape local government policy on an issue affecting their area.
New AI-powered technology is intended to make it easier, cheaper and quicker for participants to have their say, identify areas of consensus, discuss difficult issues and work through trade-offs together.
We are working in partnership with two trailblazing councils who are both embracing the opportunity to put the public at the heart of their policy making. The trial will begin in the London Borough of Camden to co-develop an approach to adult social care. The trial will then move on to South Staffordshire District Council as they develop an inclusive engagement process to prepare for their next local plan. The partners will also support a further 25 councils to observe and learn from the process so that they too can use the tools in the future.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced programme manager who can steer Waves from now until it completes in December 2026.
You would be joining the programme at a pivotal time as we move from the ‘set-up’ and ‘co-design’ phases of the first 6-months, to the start of the first of our two trials running sequentially over the next 11 months, before moving to a final ‘impact phase’ of dissemination of our toolkits, technology and learning in the final 6 months.
Programme management of Waves means ensuring that the whole project stays on track – on time and on budget – throughout its delivery. There are 5 partners, a number of suppliers and many moving parts, so it is critical that we find someone who can work across the whole programme, anticipating who needs to do what and by when, and ensuring that the programme is delivered successfully so we can draw learnings from it to share widely across the local government, democracy, and tech sectors.
It is worth bearing in mind that Waves is a ‘test and learn’ trial of a new deliberative democratic process using existing and new technology. Therefore, the team is committed to learning from the project and being comfortable with the uncertainty of not knowing exactly what the outcomes are going to be.

ROLE SUMMARY

About the Role
As Events Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our fundraising strategy – leading a passionate team to deliver a diverse and engaging calendar of events that:

From flagship fundraising events to bespoke challenge experiences, you’ll bring innovation and strategic thinking to every project. You’ll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Project Manager to grow our events portfolio and explore new opportunities for income generation and supporter engagement.
