Are you interested in working with a reputed international sustainability organisation to influence policy developments on sustainability globally? ISEAL is hiring a Senior Policy Officer to join our team responsible for public engagement and policy influencing. This is the perfect role for someone who is keen to work in an increasingly dynamic regulatory and policy landscape to strengthen the role of voluntary sustainability tools alongside emerging mandatory measures.
The core objective of the Policy and Engagement team is to support governments, civil society and other business influencers to understand, identify and use credible sustainability systems. We do this through direct engagement with relevant government bodies in priority countries, engagement with individual businesses and business platforms and building member awareness and knowledge about relevant policy files and implications of new policies for their schemes and impact. The team focused on the UK, Switzerland, EU-wide policy and key EU members states, as well as on countries in the global south, including Colombia, Indonesia, India and Brazil.
The Senior Policy Officer will help drive engagement with policymakers in key countries in which ISEAL and its partners have a strategic policy interest, with a view to influencing the policy narrative on sustainability and specific policies. The role will identify policy engagement opportunities and provide insightful analysis of policy developments and trends. In addition, the role will work closely with ISEAL members based in these regions to combine efforts and align on policy influencing.
The ideal candidate will have had exposure to working in an international policy context, either working as part of civic society with governments or as part of a government department. A strong grounding in sustainability issues and related key political and policy debates will be essential, along with some working knowledge of key policy trends in the human rights, climate and sustainability standards space. Prior experience in working in the EU, UK at policy and regulatory landscape or public affairs level will be an advantage. The Senior Officer reports to the Director, Policy and Engagement.
Key Responsibilities we will entrust you with:
Policy and government engagement
- Support ISEAL´s strategic engagement with identified key policymaker targets and audiences from a policy influencing and role of voluntary tools perspective
- Keep track of policy developments in key areas and jurisdictions and provide insights and analysis to inform ISEAL’s policy engagement work
- Help identify opportunities for engagements with relevant policymaker audiences and government agencies in key jurisdictions and engage with them as delegated and supported by other colleagues
- Set up direct meetings and other engagement opportunities for ISEAL, coordinate ISEAL’s input, advise and engagement and prepare briefs, reports and submissions for engagement purposes
- Contribute to establishing engagement and influencing strategies and to the development of ISEAL’s policy positions
- Provide internal advisory support to other teams on critical policy files based on own subject matter and jurisdiction knowledge
- Support team in development of policy papers, position papers, press releases, strategic messaging on policy issues
- Facilitate webinars and workshops on policy related topics
Other
- Track policy developments and analyse how they affect sustainability systems, ISEAL and its members
- Help shape ISEAL’s work on global policy engagement and outreach in the next strategy period

Experience, Knowledge and Attributes
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. sustainability or environmental studies, human rights, law, int. development/ social policy, EU policy etc.) and/or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience working in a policy context as part of civic society or within a government department supporting policy engagement
- Good working knowledge of the sustainability policy landscape and key debates in the space
- Strong skills in policy analysis and policy intelligence
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Excellent writing skills and ability to synthesise information
- Prior exposure to sustainability standards, passionate about sustainability linked policy issues such as human rights, climate, nature, due diligence
- Some experience and comfortable with public speaking, e.g. facilitating webinars or workshops
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a largely remote, international environment, including occasional international time-zone calls
- Confidence in using IT systems, familiarity with virtual meeting tools (e.g. MS Teams, Skype, GoToMeeting, etc), use of contact management databases (e.g. Salesforce) and proficiency in MS Office

Founded in 2015 by Michael and Yvette Mansfield, SOS Silence of Suicide exists to break the silence around mental health and suicide. Initially a peer-support group, SOS is now a growing charity offering multi-channel support services via a national helpline, mobile hubs, and in-person outreach. As Senior Communications Officer, you will be working closely with the Head of Marketing Communications to help plan, create and deliver, with the help of specialists across teams, the Trust’s annual communication plan.
You’ll be responsible for leading communications projects, campaigns and day-to-day activities. You will be delivering creative content and marketing across a range of platforms - both digital and offline –that support the Trust’s Wilder 2030 strategy and showcases the Trust’s work. This will result in bringing nature’s story to life in order to expand the charity’s reach into new and wider audiences and bringing new supporters on board.
You will be able to think creatively, within a fast-paced environment where no day is the same, as well as be comfortable delivering key tasks and mucking in when all hands are needed on deck.
You will be comfortable with the relevant platform analytics to report on progress against agreed key performance indicators.
This senior role is for a highly creative, confident, robust and professional communications individual, who will be working closely with the Head of Marketing Communications and wider team to help plan, create and activate the Trust’s annual communication plan.
You will:
- Deliver creative communications activities and branded digital content campaigns across the Trust’s key communications channels to increase the Trust’s reach, develop new audiences and convert initial awareness of SWT into measurable engagement/action for nature.
- Devise a plan with tactics to grow the Trust’s key communications channels and digital communities and increase engagement using engaging and dynamic content.
- Provide communications support and project management for a range of exciting projects and campaigns across the whole organisation, liaising with the internal Directorate teams to do so
- Liaise with the central Wildlife Trust (RSWT) team on national campaigns and communications.
- Track analytics and create regular reports detailing effectiveness of communications campaigns and our digital channels.
- Day to day guidance and project oversight for the wider communications team to support them to deliver a high-quality service to the wider organisation and inspire innovation and improvement in all that the team delivers.
Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Responsibility 1: Leading Digital Channels
- Designing and implementation of SWT’s digital and social media content plan (for both paid and organic content) with the support of the Content & Communications Officer, ensuring it complements the Trust’s overall Wilder Somerset 2030 strategic goals and objectives, marketing plans, key campaigns, engagement and fundraising activity. Driving the high performance and growth of SWT’s social channels – ensuring increasing engagement and reach.
- Working with and supporting the Content & Communications Officer to create a calendar of high-quality engaging, range of content for sharing across internal and external marketing communications channels in support of the strategic vision, ensuring consistency in terms of tone of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of communications across all key channels. The Senior Communications Officer’s social media content plan will aim to grow all SWT’s social media and digital communities and increase organic engagement.
- Expanding reach to bring new supporters on board with the Trust’s mission, to get involved with SWT’s work across the county, take action for nature, and to grow membership and income.
- Working closely with the Website & Email Lead to understand and optimise user journeys and conversions between social channels and the website, and providing support and counsel to the Website & Email Lead with regards to the delivery of impactful email campaigns to support key integrated projects, campaigns and core strategy programmes. Also providing support and guidance on ensuring the website is as effective a channel as it should be as a central destination hub for social and digital journeys.
- Liaising with the Wildlife Trust (RSWT) central office to ensure central content and advocacy campaigns are delivered as agreed on local social channels with local messaging and that the Somerset message is clear, with the use of local case studies and stories.
- With the Content & Communications Officer, and liaising with external providers where necessary, providing brand design support for communications collateral, reports, newsletters, brochures, flyers, posters and presentations. Using appropriate software (e.g., Canva, Adobe, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for a range of audiences, creating templates where appropriate for internal staff to utilise to deliver small-scale projects independently.
Responsibility 2: Marketing & PR
- Marketing opportunities including a range of channels from print, media, events to paid online adverts.
- Developing strong relationships with local and national journalists and be the lead day-to-day SWT media contact for press enquiries, with the Content & Communications Officer taking on administrative press office tasks and handling some incoming queries.
- Recommending and developing feature ideas for key publications working up ideas with colleagues across the Trust, selling in stories, and coordinating the provision of spokespeople, background information and logistics.
- Working with, and providing guidance to the Content & Communications Officer, creating and distributing targeted press releases or media alerts where appropriate, following up with key media contacts to maximise coverage and amplify SWT’s successes and impact.
- Be alert and responsive to the news agenda, keeping abreast of issues affecting the Trust and identifying PR opportunities and trends on social media that SWT can engage with, whilst also horizon planning for key contentious issues so as to provide PR support during crisis and major issues.
Responsibility 3: Project Management & Reporting
- With excellent project management and coordination skills you will work with internal stakeholders to design, coordinate and deliver bespoke plans to support a range of key projects across the year such as appeals, big events, campaigns and nature recovery projects.
- Working with the team to deliver any relevant communications training or resources to make available to staff.
- Supervising the monitoring and measurement of campaigns and their success, and reporting key KPIs to internal stakeholders on a monthly basis.
- Internal communications - updating the staff portal on Sharepoint with regards to communication assets, training and resources.
- Representing the Communications Team along with others across the Trust as part of the Trust’s project management working group, feeding back on best practice and new innovations that result in a consistent approach to project management.

· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.
· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.
· Manage nominations for relevant awards to gain recognition and support for the charity.
· Pursue and implement strategic media partnerships to enhance visibility and outreach.
· Work with the Chief Executive to liaise with Her Majesty, The Queen’s press office when applicable, particularly on key events
Content Creation & Storytelling
· Gather and write compelling stories to share our impact with funders, supporters and media through interviews our families, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility.
· Ensure consent is obtained and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR and privacy policy.
Celebrity and Talent Management
· Strategically manage our ambassador programme, keeping our mission prominent and visible, including securing new patrons and ambassadors
· Build authentic relationships with a network of celebrities and influencers to champion our cause.
· Create memorable moments and engaging content with famous supporters that resonate with audiences.
· Ensure our values and vision are highlighted in every celebrity collaboration.
Communications
· Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Communications plan that aligns with our mission and goals and marketing and brand work, maximising the impact of planned activities
· Ensure our story is told in the most compelling way by collaborating with our Programmes team, Roald Dahl Nurses, and their patients and families to create evidence-based, impactful case stories, imagery, videos, and films.
· Create and deliver both long-term and annual communications strategies, addressing local, regional, and national activities.
· Handle crisis communications professionally and efficiently, maintaining the charity’s reputation.
· Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (including funders) to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.
· Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities and campaigns, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
· Work with Director of Fundraising and Communications and Brand and Marketing manager to lead the creation, development, and implementation of impactful awareness and fundraising campaigns that amplify our messages, expand our reach, drive growth, and maximise income generation
· Forge partnerships with key stakeholders, including media, to extend the reach of our campaigns.
· Develop and manage effective relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including supporters and trustees, media, other charities, companies, and healthcare professionals.
Teamwork & Administration
· Analyse communications quarterly, preparing information for the trustee sub-committees with up-to-date coverage examples to share with the team and Board.
· Monitor and share relevant charity and media with the wider team and Trustees
· Keep shared drive and CRM (Beacon) records up to date.
· Participate in team meetings across fundraising, programmes, and communications.

We are looking for a Director of Youth Work to provide effective leadership and strategic direction for the Youth Work team within FAST London. The Director of Youth Work will sit in the Leadership Team, working in collaboration with the CEO and managers to ensure FAST’s overall strategic objectives and desired outcomes are met.
Who we are
FAST London (FAST) is a Christian youth charity based on the Patmore Estate focused on supporting 10–19-year-olds from deprived backgrounds in Battersea and South Lambeth. Our mission is to help young people succeed by creating safe spaces and providing diversionary and inspiring activities that develop resilience and inspire hope in efforts to achieve this. We build relationships with young people by engaging with them in environments where they feel most comfortable whilst doing activities they love. Once relationships are developed, we work with young people and stakeholders to overcome challenges and unlock potential.We also provide opportunities for young people to explore the Christian faith as we believe it transforms lives. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.
Context for this role
This is a pivotal moment for FAST as the need for our work has expanded due to more young people falling into poverty and struggling in schools. Whilst capacity is a challenge with 60% cut in public youth programmes over the last decade (YMCA 2020). We are still growing strong and are able to work with 300 young people annually. However, our desire is to continue this work of establishing and growing a healthy youth organisation that provides excellent & vibrant youth work that makes a difference to young people’s lives and produces healthy staff that are equipped and empowered to do the job they love. Therefore, the need to grow our team is quite pressing. We are in search for someone with experience leading youth work and developing a healthy organisation who can help strengthen our work here in very significant ways, with a particular gifting in thinking strategically and working hard to get results.

- Have experience in project and/or operations management and a track record for developing the systems, quality assurance and management that support organisational excellence;
- Have experience of managing Safeguarding and Risk within an organisation.
- Have experience of strategic project design, development and evaluation
- Have experience in finance and managing budgets
