Role
Rowan Alba works to end homelessness in Edinburgh by providing permanent supported homes and building relationships with individuals in crisis. We also work in our communities with volunteers who provide vital support to the most vulnerable in an attempt to prevent homelessness. Our experience lends itself to exemplar training programmes aimed at helping employers understand conditions around addictions.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident communicator for the new role of Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager to increase awareness of our work and develop new funding streams from individual, community and corporate partnerships.

You will be a creative, organised and motivated individual with a positive track record in working independently to develop corporate and community funder relationships.

Working alongside our Communications Manager, Trusts and Grants Fundraising Manager and Leadership Team you will develop an engagement strategy to help increase awareness of our work and raise vital funds to support our organisational development including the creation of new permanent homes for individuals with long-term experience of homelessness.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing corporate partners
• Developing opportunities to deliver training to corporate staff and organising volunteering activities
• Working with staff and volunteers to develop and implement community fundraising opportunities including sponsorship activities and local events
• Organising events for key stakeholders to increase Rowan Alba profile
• Managing relevant KPIs and appropriate CRM system for all individual and corporate funder communication and outcomes
• Ensuring the organisation adheres to the codes of fundraising practice set by the Fundraising Regulator

Core competencies

• Experience in relationship building and delivering long term funding support from a variety of sources
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently, and with a small core team
• Experience of event organisation and management including working with volunteers
• Administrative skills and experience in use of appropriate CRM solutions, cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint, Zoom, Teams
• Demonstrate respect and compassion to the people we work with and represent Rowan Alba positively and professionally at all times

We’re looking for an experienced Creative and Content Manager to head up the team that leads on brand, creative and case study storytelling for the charity. This role is essential in ensuring the success of projects from high-profile public campaigns, to targeted health information for patients and healthcare professionals. It sets standards for creative work and plans for content needs including sourcing real-life stories.

You’ll be a creative all-rounder with a passion for high quality creative work, the importance of a strong brand, the need for great content planning and the power of storytelling in developing successful communications. You’ll also sit on the Marketing and Communications Management Team, playing a key role in driving forward the team as a whole, from the personal development of individuals, to leading and shaping major marketing and communications initiatives.

Volunteering Strategic Project Manager

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, where you will play a critical role to lead on delivering strategic priority projects. 

As the Volunteering Strategic Project Manager you will line manage the England Volunteering Development Officers, lead on the strategic oversight for volunteering across England, and work collaboratively across the team to ensure volunteering is impact-led, embeds equity, diversity, and inclusion, and meets the needs of the organisation as well as the local community.

Contributing to the five-year volunteering strategy, you will ensure continued growth and impact across our successful IT and Digital transformations.

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as teams and colleagues across Sustrans, along with Partner Agencies, public and volunteering stakeholder groups and potential funders.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have substantial experience of end-to-end project management, as well as leading a team through transition and a change to working practices. You will also have demonstratable success in leading and delivering multiple projects within volunteering or community-based activity.

You will be skilled in leading, inspiring, motivating and developing a team.

The Role

About You

· A degree or equivalent professional experience in Public Relations, Journalism, English or Communications.

· Significant experience in a media/PR environment, preferably with experience of managing others within this environment. Experience of planning or leading PR or media campaigns.

· Excellent computer literacy, with extensive knowledge of MS Office applications.

· An understanding of the media and social media landscape, and their relationship with charity PR.

· An understanding or appreciation of the charity sector, the priorities and the challenges.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

Role Summary:

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Purpose:

• Developing outreach strategies to secure corporate partnerships in support of the Charity’s aims and goals.
• Meeting income generation targets as determined by the Head of Business Development.
• Responsible for developing and agreeing programmatic design for corporate partners in collaboration with programme and delivery teams.

Engagement:

• Working closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition for employer account management.
• Working closely with programme and delivery teams to ensure new partnerships are deliverable.
• Flexibility and a willingness to work innovatively to help with any tasks the team might require support for.

Delivery:

• Holding expertise in how Speakers for Schools programmes and interventions enable and enhance corporate CSR talent pipeline and social mobility.
• Reporting on activity to Head of Business Development.
• Confidently discussing Speakers for Schools and our goals, aims via email communication, virtual meetings, and telephone.

• Represent and work to our values as, fostering a culture of positivity, support, respect, and inclusivity, while taking personal responsibility for their attitude, performance, and development
• Ensure that best practice in safeguarding is enshrined in all activity.

• Ensuring consistent and accurate updating of CRM and ensuring proper data management.
• Adherence to data compliance, standards, guidelines and best practices to ensure our data integrity and consistency.
• Other duties as required, as identified by the Head of Business Development.

Education / Experience / Knowledge

• Experience of business development with a variety of stakeholders and owning, managing and delivering an ambitious commercial target.
• Previous experience working with HR/Recruitment/CSR/Engagement teams is advantageous
• Confident liaising with and managing relationships with stakeholders from all levels
• An understanding of the UK Education System and a familiarity with careers provision within UK schools and colleges would be an advantage
• Sociable and confident, experience of building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Confident in delivering presentations and networking/representing the charity at external events
• Proven capability of working through high volumes of work and delivering on targets across varying objectives within delivery
• Experience planning structured programmes that align with both employer and charity objectives

Your role

As Shop Manager at Scope's Morley shop, you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be  generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

 

About you

As Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career. To be successful, you’ll need a commercial, can-do attitude and always put the customer’s needs first. You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and a creative eye for displays. About the role

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we know that children, young people and parents with lived experience of childhood cancer are the best people to guide and shape the work that we do. As Voice Manager, you will work with the Head of Voice to deliver our Voice strategy and deliver a high-quality Voice team in order to enable young cancer patients and their families to have a stronger voice, inside and outside the organisation - not just to contribute, but also to challenge, giving the power to them to amplify their voice and make positive change.

Our Voice team is a key part of the Policy, Communications and Voice Directorate, which synthesises our policy, research, campaigning, voice, media & brand, digital and communication work. If you want to join us in working together to build a strong, effective system of support for young cancer patients and their families, we want to hear from you.

• Service user involvement and youth participation
• Communicating with different audiences and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
