What you will be doing

• Lead and facilitate a weekly Creative Writing Group, encouraging participants to explore their thoughts and feelings through writing exercises, prompts, and storytelling.
• Guide a subsequent Feelings Forum where participants can share and discuss emotions sparked by the writing session or current experiences in a respectful and supportive atmosphere
• Foster an inclusive, non-judgmental environment where all voices are heard and valued
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the organisation’s safeguarding and mental health protocols
• Prepare session materials and adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse participants

The skills you need

• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team

• Coordinate and set up a weekly Online Zumba class

Fundraising Events Organiser Volunteer

Would you like to be part of a dedicated and friendly team of volunteers and make a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in our care?  Do you enjoy planning and organising for events?  Maybe you have a particular skill that you would like to put to use?
 
Then this could be the role for you! 
 
Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Volunteer Opportunities with Beyond the Streets

Do you want to invest your time supporting women who are marginalised in Tower Hamlets? Do you feel called to social justice and want to do something about it? For over 20 years we have been supporting women involved in selling sex.  Many of the women credit our Door of Hope project with being key to their sense of wellbeing whilst on the streets and for some, their exit from selling sex.

We are recruiting new volunteers to continue delivering consistent outreach, early morning, and late evening, spanning different days of the week.

We need volunteers to work with the women we support. We are looking for women with:

• A vision for reaching out to women involved in/affected by selling sex/sexual exploitation.
• Empathy, compassion and a non-judgmental approach.
• An ability to build trusting relationships whilst maintaining personal boundaries.

What you can expect from us

• An opportunity to work together to see an end to sexual exploitation.
• A friendly, supportive, and experienced team.
• A positive volunteering environment, including volunteer induction and ongoing supervision and support.
• Safeguarding and outreach training
• Access to free organisational training around working with women.

What we ask from you

• A regular time commitment to take part in outreach, 1 session a month with 1 session as a back up.
• Be available to attend Induction and training sessions (including a Christmas social)
• A commitment to reflective practice – taking good care of yourself, contributing to team or 1-1 supervision, responding reflectively to your experiences with Door of Hope
• An openness to learning and working together.
• Availability to attend team meet ups 4-5 events a year (usually on a Monday or Tuesday evening)

We are looking for local volunteers:

• If you live within 8 miles of Tower Hamlets, we can cover the cost of late night, safe transport to and from the outreach meeting place via Taxi.
• If you live outside an 8-mile radius of Tower Hamlets it would be helpful if you had access to a car or be willing to contribute to the cost of a taxi home.

We are seeking new trustees to strengthen our Board and help shape the future of vital services for older people across our three boroughs.

We are looking for dedicated, passionate people, of all ages, with a range of professional and life experience, to join the Age UK RBH Board of Trustees.

You'll join a trustee team with a vast amount of personal and professional experience across a whole range of fields.  You’ll be warmly welcomed, participate fully in the governance of our charity and all that entails, and supported to develop your skills.

We'd love to hear from you whether you're an experienced trustee or have never been one. It's just important that you're passionate about creating a fair and equal society for older people and can embody our values.

What we are looking for:

· Previous committee experience and abilities to work in a team

· Professional or voluntary skills and experience covering areas such as supporting older people, caring, finance, communication, property, Human Resources.

· People who live in one of our 3 core boroughs or work or have family connection to one of them or an interest in supporting older people in Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and Havering

· Commitment to diversity and inclusion

It is not essential to be an older person yourself (due to a majority of older people on the existing board).

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees with experience in one or more of the following areas that are underrepresented on our board:

· Legal – governance, compliance, contracts, safeguarding
