Support Worker Responsibilities:
· Prompting/Support with personal care and dressing (which could include assistance with intimate personal care).
· Support with light household duties, including laundry, shopping and cleaning, meal preparation.
· Assisting with medication – this could be collecting prescriptions, prompting, or administering medication.
· Accompanying to medical appointments if needed.
· General companionship.
Support Worker Requirements:
They do not ask for any formal qualifications or experience of working in care before, although having previous experience in a similar role would be desirable.
This role requires working with vulnerable individuals as well as delivering personal care and support. Your employment will therefore be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks including references and an Enhanced Disclosure & Baring Service Check.
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle with 'business use' car insurance is essential to undertake this role.

Victim Support is looking for two Domestic Abuse Programme Team Leaders. These roles are full time and home based with travel around England and Wales.
Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
VS is looking to recruit an outstanding team who will deliver a transformational national Domestic Abuse early help support programme. This programme will provide specialist information and support, enabling people to act on domestic abuse as soon as possible and stop it from happening again. Funding for this programme has been secured for 3 years (to December 2023).
VS is recruiting two Team Leaders with excellent staff coaching and performance management skills, to nurture a Group Facilitators to deliver consistent information, advice and support to low risk victims of domestic abuse and those at risk of domestic abuse.
As Team Leader you will manage a team of Group Facilitators who are responsible for delivering group work to victims of domestic abuse. You will be responsible for supporting and guiding the team to achieve the required key performance Indicators, working closely with the Operations manager providing appropriate information and support. Completing regular 1-1 performance reviews and annual appraisals. You will also facilitate or co-facilitate some of the group work sessions.
Ideally you will have experience of successfully managing culturally diverse and geographically dispersed teams, including working with teams remotely utilising platforms like Zoom.
You will be highly organised, have strong IT and administration skills and be able to prioritise work effectively and manage competing deadlines.
You will have direct experience of facilitating group work and have an excellent understanding of the domestic abuse and services available to victims of domestic abuse. You will have experience of adapting services to meet the needs of diverse individuals and communities.
You will have experience of record keeping and data collection and you will be able to support your Group Facilitators to record, monitor and report on programme information systematically. You will understand the importance of confidentiality and safe working practices in accordance with safeguarding legislation and requirements under the Data Protection Act.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff Women's Aid, this fantastic charity are working to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual violence and all other forms of violence against women and girls. The IPA will need to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse and wider VAWDASV issues. Delivering a range of crisis intervention, early intervention and prevention work, intensive support, and accommodation-based support. Please note the service is 24/7 so we need people who can and will work outside normal office hours.

Key responsibilities
Identify and assess the risks and needs of service users using the CWA specialist intervention toolkit.
Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, housing, health, finance and recovery.
Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
Comply with GDPR/data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
Out of hours responsibilities not limited to:
Answering calls coming into the service
Responding to police call outs within the hour.
Contacting all referrals in a timely manner.
Attending the Intake and Assessment facility when a new resident access accommodation.
Completing an assessment of risk and need with all referrals.
Person responsibilities
Have a good understanding of domestic violence/ abuse including the impact of domestic violence/ abuse on victims and their children.
Have theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
Understand child protection issues, how to respond to effectively safeguard, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic violence/ abuse and their children.
Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
