Key Responsibilities
To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.
Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning
With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:
1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.
Dissemination and Communications
1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.
2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.
3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.
4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.
5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.

Purpose
We are looking for a Senior Programme Officer who will contribute to the effective design and delivery of CBM UK’s development and humanitarian programmes, excellent donor, country team and partners relationships, collecting and applying learning and evidence of impact, and effective collaboration with the fundraising, communications and advocacy functions of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Within twelve months, the Senior Programme Officer will:
· Be managing a portfolio of projects effectively and efficiently;
· Be a confident user of CBM’s systems for project knowledge management, human resources and operations;
· Have developed strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and donors.
Oversee a portfolio of projects
· Work with the relevant Country Team(s) and partners to ensure delivery of quality projects, to budget, and within appropriate time periods

This role will support the Events Development Manager in the planning and delivery of online and digital events, as well as an expanded events programme that aligns with the RSPB’s strategic goals. The Senior Events Officer will play a critical role in operationally leading parts of this programme, deputising for the Events Development Manager, and using their expertise to execute the strategy.

The Senior Events Officer will be responsible for delivering multiple, simultaneous projects while managing diverse stakeholders and collaborating with teams across the RSPB, partner organisations and agencies.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in event management, marketing, or a related field, or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrable experience managing and leading large-scale events of over 1000 people, from concept through to implementation and evaluation
- Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of event marketing

Background
Mission Without Borders (MWBI) is an international network of Christians who journey with the poor and marginalized, bringing practical and spiritual support with hope of a better future, enabling and encouraging people to lift themselves out of poverty, always sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.
Mission Without Borders International leads and co-ordinates the work of six countries in Eastern Europe where we conduct our program work and twelve countries where we raise support for these programs and associated MWBI costs. An international executive team (IET) supports this work in terms of program maintenance and development, fundraising, communications, finance, risk management and compliance and it and digital.
Purpose of role
The overarching governing body of the Mission is the Board of Mission Without Borders International. The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director who will help drive our fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying our fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our international fundraising teams to differentiate and grow income as we enter this new phase of strategic growth.
The International Fundraising Director will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s National Fundraising Directors. They will: implement and manage the diversification of income, including major donor income and field sourced income; work closely with the digital team in fundraising and communication; engage with field countries on beneficiary management and sponsor engagement; lead on impact reporting and work with other members of IET to lead the executive and operational elements of the Mission.
A strong communicator and strategic thinker with practical fundraising experience, they will be an experienced leader and innovative thinker focused on the development of a team and capable of working well with the existing team. They will have significant practical experience of major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional, and corporate fundraising together with a deep understanding of individual fundraising through sponsorship and appeals.
Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach
· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. They will have direct responsibility for raising funds at the international level with a specific focus on driving forward major donors, trusts and institutions income as this is currently an underdeveloped source of income for the Mission. They will also lead the development of field sourced fundraising.
· Deliver strategic plans for driving income growth, diversifying income sources and improving donor engagement by incorporating traditional and digital fundraising methods.

The Role:
As the Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our sector improvement programmes, providing strategic guidance, and driving change across the HE sector to improve mental health outcomes.

Through the UMHC Award and Programme, we aim to ensure every university and HE organisation in the UK adopts a strategic, whole-organisation approach to wellbeing and mental health, creating conditions where all students can belong and succeed in the ways that matter to them. This ambitious, impactful programme sits at the heart of the Student Minds strategy.
The Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement will:
- Lead National Programmes: Manage a team delivering the UMHC Programme and Award Assessments, working closely with the Head of Programmes to set strategic direction and ensure successful delivery.
- Recruit and Train Assessors: Lead a team of over 40 Assessors to deliver the UMHC Award Assessment process to approximately 16 universities annually.
- Develop Events and Resources: Plan and deliver conferences, online and in-person events, and resources for our growing membership base (113 universities and counting in 2024/25).
- Build Strategic Relationships: Engage with the HE and mental health sectors to foster partnerships, identify needs, and drive improvement.
- Financial Oversight: Support annual fee reviews and manage a complex programme budget with significant income and expenditure.
- Drive Organisational Thinking: As part of the Leadership Group, contribute to shaping the future of sector improvement opportunities at Student Minds.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience managing complex programmes and achieving strategic objectives.
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of balancing cost, quality, and time effectively.
- Extensive experience in change management, including leading teams through transitions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, building and sustaining strong relationships.
- Strong team management and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Public speaking experience, with confidence in presenting complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of system change approaches, with adaptability to evolving processes.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading an Award Assessment Programme.
- Knowledge of the HE sector.
- Experience in or knowledge of the mental health sector.
