We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to work with management and trustees to lead delivery of a set of practical fundraising priorities while helping to build stronger systems and confidence for the future.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced charity fundraiser who is comfortable working in a maturing fundraising function, where tools and ways of working are being developed and income needs stabilising rather than rapidly expanded.
This interesting and varied role will focus primarily on trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, and alumni support, with a strong emphasis on retention, stewardship and proposition clarity.

At the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, we are looking for a Relationship Fundraiser to join our team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This is a fantastic opportunity where you will help strengthen connections with individuals, local businesses, and our branches and groups face-to-face across the region. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting fundraisers, delivering events, and ensuring every supporter feels valued.
This is a home-based role with travel requirements across: North and East Yorkshire. Applicants need to be based in or close to the designated region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver community and local business fundraising events in your region
- Provide a tailored supporter journey through a range quality communications including meetings, calls and emails
- Support our branches and groups to grow income from local events, trusts, and corporates
- Build strong relationships to maximise fundraising potential and engagement
- Ensure funds are processed accurately and on time
- Collaborate with the wider community team to maintain consistent processes and accurate CRM records
- Represent the Association at events, presentations, and local media opportunities
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with law, best practice, and internal policies
About You:
- Experience in community fundraising or relationship management
- Experience coaching and motivating people
- Confident using CRM databases with knowledge of GDPR
- Inclusive and respectful of diverse backgrounds and perspectives
- Passionate about inspiring supporters to reach their fundraising goals
- Strong communication skills with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent attention to detail across written and verbal communication
- Track record of working to income targets
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
- Full clean driving licence

AzuKo is working to end housing poverty in Bangladesh and the UK. We’re looking for an individual who is proactive, highly organised and an excellent communicator, and who is motivated to develop their skills in fundraising.
ROLE OVERVIEW
You’ll be helping AzuKo connect with current and potential donors to raise vital funds and ensure we continue supporting those in need. The role involves conducting research, bid writing, building relationships and growing our network.
DETAILS
- Role: Fundraising Officer (freelance)
- Location: Remote
- Time: 3 days (22.5 hours) per week for 6 months, with possibility of extension. We’ll always try to be flexible around your other commitments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, identify and connect with potential funders, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations
- Understand donor needs and requirements
- Develop an engagement and stewardship calendar
- Support the development of proposals, and overall fundraising strategy
- Write and submit funding applications, and report to funders
- Deal with funder queries and requests
- Support volunteer fundraisers, helping them to reach their potential
- Maintain accurate, and transparent filing systems (CRM)
- Track and report on fundraising, for internal analysis
- Keep informed on the Fundraising Regulator and Code of Fundraising Practice, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Charities Act
- Contribute to AzuKo storytelling
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Research and analytical skills
- Comfortable with digital/remote working e.g. use of OneDrive, Slack
- Sales skills and willingness to make cold approaches (phone/email) to funders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas in simple language
- Open minded with a willingness to learn
- Able to work independently, and as part of a team
- Passionate about the charity sector, and our cause
Desirable
- Experience in Trusts and Foundations fundraising, or fundraising generally
- Experience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Knowledge of housing issues/poverty, international development and/or women’s rights
- Understanding of the relevant fundraising codes of practice, GDPR, the Data Protection Act and other related legislation
