Market Research Analyst (Insights Coordinator)
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about using data and insights to influence change and ensuring we are the experts about our students. You’ll join our Insights Team to expand our sector-leading insights function and collaborate with other Guild departments to deliver student-facing projects, and build data curiosity across the organisation.
The Role
Role: Market Research Analyst (Insights Coordinator)
Hours: Up to 35 hours per week (to be worked flexibly). We are open to considering Part Time hours of a minimum 21 (0.6FTE) per week
Salary: Grade B – £24,260 per annum (pro-rata for part time hours)
Contract: 12 month fixed term

The Postdoctoral Research Manager will assist the Director of Research in running Bipolar UK’s Research Division:
- working with the charity and its multiple partner projects and collaborators to deliver on our current research commitments
- to develop the long-term sustainability of the Bipolar UK Research Division
This is an exciting role which will combine overseeing and managing existing and prospective research partnerships with research teams around the country and world, and taking part in the development of Bipolar UK-led research.
Current research partners include teams at UCL, Oxford, Cardiff and the GW4 Alliance, Swansea, King’s College London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Lancaster, Liverpool, together with international organisations such as The Global Bipolar Cohort and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Our aim at Bipolar UK is to integrate research into the charity in a way which combines more traditional elements of facilitating lived experience involvement alongside actively contributing to and directing research. We are also striving to increase awareness of bipolar and to campaign for more bipolar-specific research, addressing the ‘bipolar gap’ within research and services.
Bipolar UK is very much a user-driven organisation. Approximately one-third of our staff, including our Director of Research, have lived experience of bipolar themselves, while many more have lived experience through family or close friends. Although lived experience is not essential for this role, we especially welcome applications from those with lived experience of bipolar and will expect anyone who takes on this role to have insight into the needs and priorities of the bipolar community, and a commitment to undertaking research which focuses on bipolar.

This is an exciting senior policy role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. We are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing evidence-based policy positions to support CPAG’s influencing and campaigns work. You will have knowledge of political processes and how external organisations can effect change. You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues. You will enjoy working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as externally.
The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the development and implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits, and the white paper on employment.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children.
This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.
You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to use academic research to drive global affordable housing impact, working with a UK-based international charity to build thematic expertise and generate new income for its work.
Globally, there are 1.2 billion people without somewhere decent to call home. Reall’s vision is housing markets in Africa and Asia that work for people, prosperity and planet, which it seeks to achieve through investing in affordable housing, using research and data to build evidence, and leveraging this to advocate for change. Reall has been a global leader in promoting affordable housing in Africa and Asia for over 30 years. Their work has transformed the lives of over 3 million people, created 200,000 jobs, brought clean water to 500,000 people and expanded sanitation to over a million.
This position is part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded by Innovate UK, aimed at driving impactful collaboration between academic expertise and industry. This 2-year KTP project reflects Reall’s ongoing investment in academic collaboration and commercial development. It will use the development of specialist gender- and climate-focussed knowledge to support Reall’s shift from reliance on a single funding source to a more diverse income model, including expansion of Reall’s consultancy services. The Associate will play a crucial role in this transformation by working with Reall and University of Warwick staff to:

Lead the integration of gender and climate innovations and best practices into Reall’s housing work.

Lead the development of frameworks to evaluate gender and climate impacts.

This includes public events (themed seasons, lates, performances, book prize events and festival sponsorships), academic events (lectures, conferences, academic prizes & medals), and public engagement (Summer Showcase, SHAPE Involve and Engage).
The role holder will work closely with other members of the Events Team and the wider Communications Department. You will work directly with the Head of Events and three Events Managers to deliver events at our historic home in London, at partner venues across the UK, and online.
You will be someone who thrives on delivering engaging live events aimed at a variety of audiences – from first-time visitors to our Summer Showcase, to a student attending a Late; an early career researcher watching a lecture, to a leading academic attending a keynote speech at a conference.
You will be someone who is passionate about creating dynamic events which share the latest research and is keen to develop new ways to connect with our target audiences.
You will be joining the Academy at an exciting time in our history as we have recently opened three new event spaces in our building, offering a new programme of activity to our audiences.
We are recruiting two full-time roles. One is a permanent contract, the other is a 12-month fixed-term contract. One role will work primarily on academic events programmes, whilst the other will work primarily on public engagement programmes.

We are looking for a self-organised person with a keen interest in supporting mental health to join us as a Sector Development Officer. This role will facilitate, coordinate, and encourage collaboration between and across the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) Sector, specifically across youth and adult mental health provision. This is done through the sharing of information and opportunities, gathering sector insights and the provision of tailored guidance and signposting.
Our preferred candidate will be committed to developing a strong understanding of the VCFSE and Health sectors in Cheshire East. They will be confident in networking and presenting to groups of varying sizes, and have a commitment to fostering collaboration. They will be able to present information in a variety of formats, and be able to manage and prioritise their own workload.

Overview
The project aims to enable youth with disabilities (especially young women) in Uganda through Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to influence development processes to promote equitable access to finance, skills and markets and greater alignment with the green agenda.
It will achieve this by supporting the development of existing Mirco, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) owned by youth with disabilities to directly employ youth with disabilities (job seekers). It will provide the MSMEs with access to skills, finance and markets, and the job seekers with access to skills training including apprenticeships and employability skills.
Purpose of the evaluation
The end term evaluation (ETE) will assess the performance of the project and garner specific learnings that can be taken forward in future programme design and implementation. The evaluation should address the evaluation criteria questions in the Terms of Reference, including the effectiveness and replicability of the model piloted in this project and recommendations pertaining to scalability and sustainability.
This evaluation will employ a collaborative and participatory approach ensuring engagement with a wide range of relevant stakeholders. Mixed methods of data collection and analysis will be determined in collaboration with the appointed consultant/consultancy.
The evaluation will be contracted to an external independent consultant or consultancy company. Regional/global teams will be considered but it will be beneficial if the lead consultant and/or team members are based in Uganda. Gender balance and lived experience of disability within the team will be welcomed.

Consultant/ evaluation team’s expertise
- Extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation for international development project/programmes, with strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Thematic expertise in economic empowerment with comprehensive understanding of preferred practices/policy issues at national and global levels.
- Prior experience of Most Significant Change or Outcome Harvesting for programme evaluation purposes (depending on proposed approach).
- Prior experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa is essential, including primary data collection, preferably in Uganda.
- Prior economic empowerment work/evaluation experience, as well as knowledge and expertise of disability inclusion and gender mainstreaming.
- Experience of carrying out evaluation and learning exercises of an appropriate scale and involving young people and persons with disabilities in a participatory manner.
- Can source and manage additional support with relevant services such as data collection, translation, sign language interpretation, and transcription, in Uganda when necessary.
- Can produce clear, concise, and analytical reports in English, with excellent attention to detail, and to meet agreed deadlines.
- Experience of producing learning and summary documents to share findings and recommendations with diverse audiences in clear and engaging ways. Familiarity with accessible design principles advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Fluency in relevant local languages in Uganda (Luo) is also highly desirable.
