About the service 

We are a specialist team working within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector, committed to delivering trauma-informed, survivor-led support. Our services are shaped by the Women’s Aid Federation of England (WAFE) National Quality Standards and guided by the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, which recognises the impact of abuse on both adults and children. We work collaboratively to provide safe, inclusive, and empowering support that reflects the diverse experiences of survivors and promotes long-term recovery and independence.

Working in a busy sector you will be part of a frontline refuge team working in a fast paced environment supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse. The team are passionate about creating safe welcoming environments that supports all residents, children and colleagues. A team who continually adapt to the variations of work tasks/environments, who are service focused, resilient, exercise good judgement to make the right decisions and take into consideration everyone’s individual needs to create a genuine team spirit.

• Although no formal qualifications are necessary a good level of spoken and written English is essential for this role.
• Proven experience providing emotional, practical, and welfare support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, including women, men, and children.

• Ability to support individuals in crisis with compassion and understanding.

About the Role 

As Service Manager – Community Services, you will lead the operational delivery of community-based domestic abuse services, including IDVA, triage and outreach support for adults, children and young people. Working closely with the Area Operational Lead and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strong, values-led leadership to frontline teams, drive service performance, and ensure delivery is safe, responsive, trauma-informed and survivor-led. You will also play a key role in strengthening partnerships, supporting service development and ensuring services remain compliant, effective and sustainable.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of community domestic abuse services, ensuring support is safe, timely, trauma-informed and survivor-led.

• Provide effective leadership, supervision, reflective practice and case management oversight to staff, supporting wellbeing, accountability and professional development.

• Oversee referrals, allocations and case progression to ensure survivors receive an appropriate, equitable and responsive service, with risk managed effectively.

• Monitor service quality, performance and outcomes through audits, data, survivor feedback and reporting, and use this insight to drive continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, legal, contractual and organisational requirements, maintaining accurate oversight of governance and risk.

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations to strengthen referral pathways and improve outcomes for survivors.

• Support service planning, workforce coordination and cover arrangements to ensure safe staffing and consistent service delivery across periods of leave and absence.

• Contribute to strategic development, identifying emerging needs, supporting service growth and helping to shape high-quality, inclusive responses for diverse communities.

Essential: 

• Experience of managing or leading teams within domestic abuse, social care, housing, community safety or a related support environment.
• Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, trauma-informed practice, safeguarding for adults and children, and risk management in complex cases.
• Ability to provide effective supervision, case oversight and reflective support that promotes staff wellbeing, professional curiosity and high-quality practice.
• Experience of performance monitoring, report writing and using data, feedback and outcomes information to support service improvement.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with statutory, voluntary and community partners and represent the organisation confidently in multi-agency settings.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and survivor-led practice, with the ability to model Safenet and Calico values in day-to-day leadership.

Desirable 

• ILM, CMI or another relevant management qualification, or evidence of continued professional development in leadership.
• Experience of service development, project delivery, change management or supporting new initiatives within a support service setting.
• Knowledge of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards and relevant legislation and frameworks relating to domestic abuse and safeguarding.
• Understanding of budget monitoring, contract requirements or income maximisation within a commissioned or grant-funded service.

The Winchester Beacon has been supporting individuals experiencing homelessness for almost forty years. The organisation provides a safe and welcoming accommodation for up to 22 individuals, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day across 4 sites. Residents receive personalised support through regular one-to-one meetings with a Support Worker to plan steps towards positive change and independent living.

Role Description

This 0.6 part-time hybrid role of Facilities Manager is based in Winchester with some flexibility for remote work. The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance, safety and functionality of the organisation’s main site and off-site residences. Responsibilities include coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and performing regular site inspections. The role also involves maintaining records, managing budgets related to facilities, and collaborating with staff and stakeholders to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facilities maintenance, including performing inspections, coordinating repairs and engaging with contractors.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational and budget management skills to effectively oversee resources and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Experience in managing multiple sites and troubleshooting facility-related issues is advantageous.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment.
• A commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and knowledge of housing-related services is a plus.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within SafeNet for a Domestic Abuse Practitioner.

Using your experience of delivering support or recovery services, you will provide high quality and pro-active front line service to victims of domestic abuse helping to keep them safe. You will be assessing risk, completing safety and support planning, and ensuring the service offer is accessible and inclusive to all.

The Resettlement Team operate as a core team within The Passage Resource Centre, conducting initial triage assessments with new service users, supporting with the day to day running of the centre and reception area, and carrying a caseload of service users working towards agreed housing goals and objectives. The Irish Resettlement Worker is based within this team, focussing their work on supporting Irish service users.

Resettlement Workers are responsible for:

Managing and coordinating the support and resettlement of service users, ensuring:

• Service users have a safe and welcoming place to access and work towards positive change.
• They are offered practical and personal support in a way that is approachable, engaging, flexible and caring.
• They are supported to make the most of their strengths and to articulate and make progress to achieving their hopes and ambitions.
• They have opportunities to contribute and be involved through co-production, working with the Experts by Experience Facilitator to identify new ways of involving service user voices in the development and delivery of front-line services.
• Working effectively with other statutory and voluntary agencies, and the local community, to support service users in a holistic way.
• Contributing to continual service development & improvement, identifying and utilising referral pathways and building new partnerships to support positive resettlement for service users.
• Delivery of the No Night Out project, accurately assessing and referring eligible service users to ensure that we are working to prevent rough sleeping wherever possible.
• Working in line with The Passage policies and procedures, ensuring that the best possible service is provided to all service users.

The Irish Resettlement Worker will work predominantly with Irish service users to explore solutions and opportunities to resolve their housing situation. They will ensure delivery of a holistic services to Irish service users who present in crisis to The Passage Resource Centre, identifying housing opportunities where appropriate and offering a reconnection service back to Ireland where this has been identified as an appropriate option. They will also ensure that the cultural needs of Irish clients are explored and catered for.
