We support a gentleman who is looking for company and friendship in Ickenham.

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is a Stop and Stay visit role, meaning that the person you’ll be visiting might have some verbal communication skills or they use sounds and/or facial/body expressions to communicate with you. The person you visit might choose to take part in simple activities or watch you doing the activities. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tend to be around half an hour to an hour long.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Sitting and having a chat
• Checking in on their well- being
• A craft activity at home
• Reading a book/magazine together

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. We are looking for someone keen to move into the area of advising small charities on management and governance issues and assessing their needs in these areas.

We are a very ambitious local grant-making charity that also offers various training, support and consultancy services to small charities and community groups in Ealing & Hounslow. Our broad-ranging plans are now beginning to bear fruit and so we need someone to help us in the following areas as demand for our services begins to grow:

Our ideal candidate would have a good all-round management or professional background gained over a number of years, but need not be experienced in the areas mentioned above. The role would probably require an average of 1 day a week and would involve dealing with our clients during office hours, so you will probably be someone who is working part-time, or is perhaps retired or semi-retired, or is otherwise not in full-time employment.

Background  

The Four Nations Advisory Panel (FNAP) has been established by the National Emergencies Trust (The Trust) as a panel of representatives from each of the UK four nations that are able to advise on and support the development and delivery of the work of the National Emergencies Trust (the Trust), between and during emergency appeals.  

Contributions from the panel and individual members will help enable the Trust to continuously improve its knowledge and understanding of the four nations and their communities, so that it can be better informed when supporting survivors of UK emergencies. It will complement the work of the Mental Health, Equity and Survivors Advisory Panels in supporting a collaborative and inclusive approach by the Trust.

The Panel does not hold any decision-making powers in relation to operational and financial decisions by the Trust.

The role: 

• Ensure each of the four nations are represented on the panel to ensure that relevant differences of culture, communities, administration and capacity are considered and taken account of by the Trust in its activities. 

• Advise the Board and Executive to enhance our reach, networks, and local understanding in each nation. 

• Brokering relationships with relevant organisations and individuals within the relevant home nation. 

• Representing and promoting the work of the Trust. 

• To inform and support the work of the Trust’s other Advisory Panels.

• Providing access to relevant intelligence, data and information networks.

Shelter Bucket Collection – Slough Tesco Extra

Role summary

Through their ‘Taste and Tesco’ scheme, the UK’s biggest supermarket offer charities across the UK opportunities to apply for fundraising collections outside their stores. Following a successful application, this bucket collection will take outside the Slough Wellington Tesco Extra, Slough. Volunteers will be required to stand with buckets and card machines asking the public for donations.

We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, volunteers, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Join us today so that together we can stop MS.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team. As a volunteer you will play a crucial part in helping us deliver our EDI work. By attending four monthly meetings you will provide advice, feedback, guidance and personal opinion on our work. You will act as a bridge between our EDI activity group and our EDI reference group.

As a Flyer Distributor you will play a crucial role in helping to raise awareness about our services and events within the Enfield community. PINT (People In Need Today)

We create awareness for people experiencing homelessness through media, publicity and projects.

We aim to create awareness for those in need via promotion of our work to the homeless and those in need through media and publicity. The aim is to show the majority that what they see and hear is an actual myth of what they see and believe homelessness is. We also highlight the fact that so much is wasted that can go to help other especially people in need around the globe.

PINT aims to highlight that awareness can be created by team work showing the world that so much gets wasted daily which can be contributed towards many that are suffering without on a daily basis. Our project has been in existence for 15 years now in that time we have grown from feeding tans supporting those in need in the community to covering a number of areas in London and the United Kingdom.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

A fantastic opportunity for the right individual to come on board and join our team in reaching our targets. Fundraising is something we have lacked and this year we are looking for that individual who can help us achieve our goals. Your role will be flexible working from home and your own boss. Experience is essential as the role will be demanding but for the right individual something that they will be familiar with. Can you set goals and deliver?
