About the project 

We are the Guild Church for Workers in the City of London, building a multilingual community where those in often low-paid or precarious occupations are at the heart of our life and leadership.  As part of our support of workers, we provide free beginner English classes every Saturday morning in partnership with English for Action. As these classes have grown, we have provided a homecooked meal for everyone, to share conversation and build community. 

We believe in the power of shared meals to foster community and connection. We're looking for Volunteer Community Cooks to help us create a welcoming space on Saturday mornings, where everyone feels at home.

St Katharine Cree is seeking warm and enthusiastic volunteers to join us on Saturday mornings to cook a delicious and nourishing meal for around 30 people to enjoy after their beginner English language class.

POSITION: Fundraising Trustee

LOCATION: Remote / 78 Coombe Road, New Malden, KT3 4QS

We usually hold board meetings online, but this is open to change.

COMMITMENT: 2 – 3 hours per month. We hold one annual away day we’d expect the board to attend.

Our Board meets every quarter for 2 hours. There is expected support between meetings. Our terms are capped at 3 years with potential for renewal for one additional term.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to good governance and strategic decision-making, ensuring the Board fulfils its responsibilities in line with our constitution, governance framework, and applicable legislation.

Role Summary 

The Site Manager role involves overseeing a number of university Islamic Societies or Muslim Student Associations who are interested in partnering with Roots Academy to host the Essentials Onsite Program an in-person transformative educational class tailored to university students on campus. The Site Manager role is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with these ISoc/MSA committees and offering 1:1 support to ensure that they have an excellent educational experience.
 

Key tasks

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with ISoc/MSA committees and Student Ambassadors (ISoc/MSA representative) to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students, and promote retention of sites.
   
• Be the point of contact for ISocs/MSAs: answer questions, offer light-touch support and coaching on ways to improve the class, engage on a 1:1 basis listening to their needs and concerns, and addressing these accordingly.
   
• Liaise with Student Ambassadors to ensure that logistics involved in marketing and running the class are taken care of by the ISoc/MSA.
   
• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different campuses deliver their class
   
• Be the internal point of contact for any queries or updates related to ISocs/MSAs assigned.

Monitoring, evaluation and learning coordinators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals. 

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for a volunteer to track the impact of our educational initiatives, gather data, and support continuous improvement in our learning programs. This role ensures that our learning activities are effective and contribute meaningfully to ELWP’s overarching goals.

This role would include:

• Developing measures of success of existing environmental education initiatives

The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

We're looking for people to lead on these projects and facilitate the direction of the learning working group.

Individuals with experience in research, programme evaluation, data analysis, or education assessment are encouraged to apply. Attention to detail and an interest in measuring impact will be key strengths in this role. Our roles are quite flexible. Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. By volunteering in this role, you will help shape the future of East London Waterworks Park as a community-led environmental learning space. We are looking for someone who preferably has a professional fundraising background within the charitable sector. We currently have a fundraising subcommittee set up, this role would chair the subcommittee and lead on fundraising initiatives. This subcommittee is currently made up of 3 trustees & 1 staff member, though we are actively looking for fundraising volunteers to join the committee.

Founded in 2013, Release Counselling and Therapy for Women is a charity that has supported the mental health of thousands of women across Sussex.

Over the last decade, we have developed a skilled and experienced therapy team, who offer a range of services to help women address the issues life throws at them.

Our support is unique as everything we do is created and led by qualified counsellors, and we have become best known for our Therapeutic Groups and Wellbeing Days for mums.  We also run a 1:1 counselling service for women, supporting them through those other challenges in life and are in the process of setting up couples counselling.

We are looking for qualified female counsellors or CBT therapists to provide 3 or more 1-1 or couples therapy online and to deliver weekly sessions for up to 18 weeks for 50 minutes. Counsellors can join an optional peer supervision group and our quarterly team catch up.

• Source potential partnership opportunities with businesses, community groups, and other charities.
• Oversee social media management on all channels to promote visibility and engagement.
• Assist with fundraising activities, including planning events and engaging with stakeholders.
• Manage the administrative calendar of key external events, deadlines, and opportunities.
• Support the charity’s presence at events by helping to prepare information, promotional materials, and introductions.
• Contribute to teaching or training programmes aimed at skill development for team members or community groups.Build and maintain a simple database of contacts, partners, and potential opportunities.
• Share insights and recommendations with the leadership team on where the charity should have visibility.

• Confident and proactive in building connections online, on the phone and in-person
• A strong understanding of all Microsoft office packages
• Confidence in managing multiple priorities whilst working with accuracy and own initiative.

• Ability to work independently and keep things moving.
