The Role

We are looking for an experienced, driven and creative Marketing and Events Manager who brings a genuine passion for fundraising and events — and the skills to match. This is not primarily a desk-based marketing role: you will be the engine behind our events programme and a key driver of our fundraising income.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the planning and delivery of CWC’s events calendar, manage our fundraising activities, and oversee the work of the Marketing and Events Officer. You will be equally comfortable developing the strategy and getting stuck into the detail of execution.

Events will be at the heart of what you do. You will take ownership of our flagship event, coordinate a varied programme of fundraising events, sector conferences and networking activities, and ensure every event is professionally delivered and leaves supporters feeling connected to our mission. You will manage relationships with venues, suppliers and sponsors, and keep a close eye on budgets and income targets.

Fundraising will be a core focus. You will be responsible for achieving financial targets from individual and corporate fundraising, developing creative campaigns across platforms such as Enthuse and JustGiving, and building the kind of relationships with supporters and partners that turn one-off donations into long-term engagement.

Alongside this, you will lead and support the Marketing and Events Officer, ensuring our marketing output — social media, newsletters, website content and campaigns — is consistent, engaging and aligned with our strategic goals.

About You

You will have a proven track record in events management and fundraising, ideally within the charity sector. You know what it takes to plan and deliver events from first concept through to post-event evaluation, and you understand how events can drive income as well as awareness.

You will be a confident, organised and proactive person who can manage competing priorities without losing sight of quality or deadlines. You will be comfortable working independently, managing your own workload and supporting others to manage theirs.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A proven track record in events management, with demonstrable experience of delivering fundraising income from events
• At least two years’ experience in a charity fundraising or events role
• Experience of line managing or supervising others
• Excellent relationship-building skills with sponsors, corporate partners and individual supporters
• Confidence using fundraising platforms (e.g. Enthuse, JustGiving) and CRM/database systems (Hubspot experience an advantage)
• Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, email marketing tools and website content management
• Experience managing budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, and reporting on financial performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong project management skills
• Genuine enthusiasm for the charity’s mission and the people we support

Knowledge of the health and social care sector would be a distinct advantage, though not essential.

The Marketing & Communications Officer will play a key role in raising the profile of Artsreach. You will lead the planning and delivery of audience‑focused marketing and communications activity that increases awareness and strengthens engagement. Working closely with the Media Communications Manager and Senior Digital Content Officer, the post-holder will work on communication projects across all areas of the charity to raise awareness and understanding of Independent Age, grow our influence and drive potential supporters to our activities (including our information and advice, fundraising, volunteering and campaigning). 

You should have experience of media liaison and securing press coverage, as well as familiarity with all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, BlueSky, Instagram and LinkedIn), and ideally a foundational knowledge of the associated reporting and analytics for them.

About you

You will have experience of working in an office administration role, including financial processing and have proven experience with databases. You will be comfortable working with and prioritising high volumes of work. Key Activities

      Donation Processing

• Responsible for the timely recording and processing of all incoming donations (including via our website, bank account, third party platforms and cheques) into the Medair UK CRM (Salesforce).
• Ensure all donors receive gift acknowledgements / thank you letters corresponding to each gift received.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, staff and other contacts in the Medair UK database.
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations and support in the regular reclaim of Gift Aid.

      Financial Administration

• Inputting of all financial data (income and expenditure) into Quick Books.
• Preparing and following up suppliers invoices for payment.
• Processing expenses claims.
• Managing the banking of income and supporter cheques.
• Support the Head of Operations to implement the month and year end reconciliation process for both Salesforce and Quick Books.

      Facilities & Office Management

• Act as first point of contact for the office and public enquiries, responding to incoming telephone calls and emails.
• Answer basic enquiries about Medair's work and distributing information to supporters and others as required.
• Manage and order office supplies, stationery and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, administrating risk assessments, H&S and fire safety procedures.

      Information Technology

• Ensuring the maintenance of the IT system and handling minor in-house IT technical issues for staff and volunteers. 
• Liaising with the Global Support Office IT Helpdesk team to ensure the timely set up of IT for new staff and volunteers – i.e. setting up email addresses, and relevant permissions.
• Ensuring that IT permissions are current, and that these are amended as and when staff and volunteers leave.
• Assisting with continuous improvements in Medair UK’s use of IT.

​    Engagement Support

• Supporting fundraising activities with data segmentation and the production of standard and custom reports in Salesforce
• Supporting the production and automation of email newsletter and appeals via Campaign Monitor
• Setting up new Salesforce campaigns with tailored reports and dashboards to track donations.
• Producing digital surveys and web-forms as required.
• Providing support to Medair’s virtual events, including the technical administration of Zoom and pre and post event attendee administration.           

      HR Administration

• Organising and co-ordinating staff and volunteer inductions ensuring that the induction checklist is completed.
• Supporting the Head of Operations with team training and organisational learning and development opportunities.

Qualifications - DESIRABLE

• Vocational qualification in business or financial management / administration desirable

 Languages

• Excellent English (spoken and written).

 Experience / Competencies – ESSENTIAL

• Experience of office administration / financial administration
• Experience of Microsoft Office solutions, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Internet and email use 
• Experience of fundraising or other database(s), ideally Salesforce and Campaign Monitor

The Role

You will play a key part in engaging our community of supporters, from marathon runners to monthly donors to guests at our bespoke events. You’ll lead on mass‑participation challenge events, support the development of our membership/regular giving programme, and help plan and deliver creative, impactful experiences that bring supporters closer to our mission. Working across the fundraising team, you'll help ensure every supporter feels valued, inspired, and connected to the young people we serve. ​

• Facilities and admin support to the NI retail function when required

Conditions of Appointment: 

Salary Band: GB4

Salary: £24,060–£26,732.80 per annum (based on 28 hours per week).

Full‑time equivalent: £30,075–£33,416 per annum (35 hours per week).

New employees will normally start at the minimum of the pay band, with scope for progression over time.

This is a permanent, part-time post based on 4 days working week (28 hours per week - 0.8fte). The normal full-time working week is 35 hours.

The successful post holder will be required to complete a Basic AccessNI check and sign a criminal records self-declaration form.
