We are seeking to appoint an Events fundraiser to join our Challenge and Virtual Events Team as our Events Fundraising Officer.
Our Challenge Events programme is well established at Barnardo's and offers running, trekking and cycling events. We are looking for someone with a passion for events and a thirst for learning to help us deliver our third-party events calendar, including the Great North Run, Cardiff Half Marathon and London Landmarks. You will also help to shape our corporate challenge event programme and bespoke and owned portfolio of partnered events.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in marketing and recruiting fundraisers.
- Be passionate about delivering high-level stewardship to event participants.
- Have strong project management skills to aid event delivery.
- Have experience in managing multiple activities and deadlines, and working to agreed targets.
- Have the ability to build strong internal and external relationships to achieve mutual goals.
It is an exciting time for the Challenge and Virtual Events team at Barnardo's following growth across our third-party Challenge Events, the innovation and development of new partnerships and bespoke events. Flying Cars Innovation is looking for a hands-on digital fundraising expert to help create, test and pilot bold new fundraising propositions for charities.
This is not a traditional digital fundraising role. You won’t be spending your time endlessly optimising existing campaigns. Instead, you’ll use your digital expertise to help bring new fundraising ideas to life, starting with early audience insight, moving through idea generation and smoke testing, and then helping clients pilot new propositions capable of generating £1m+ in income.
You might be a digital fundraiser, paid social lead or acquisition specialist who has often thought:

Mencap is seeking an Executive Director, Fundraising to deliver ambitious fundraising goals and drive growth and impact, whilst ensuring that people with a learning disability are at the heart of their fundraising activities.
Mencap’s vision is for the estimated 1.5 million people with a learning disability across the UK to get the best chance in life. This is a pivotal moment to join the charity as they launch their new five-year strategy, Mencap 2030, with this role central to delivering its ambitious vision in which people with a learning disability can live life to the full.
The Executive Director, Fundraising will play a key organisational leadership role - modelling Mencap’s values, contributing to cross‑organisational transformation and championing belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion. With fundraising central to the charity’s future growth, the postholder will drive a strategy designed to increase annual income from an average of £14m to £20m and beyond, building on recent high‑profile partnerships and investment across all fundraising channels.
The role requires an inspiring leader who can galvanise 7,500 colleagues behind a shared fundraising mission and authentically involve people with a learning disability in shaping fundraising approaches. The successful candidate will lead and motivate a high‑performing team, steward major corporate and individual relationships and ensure innovation, strong forecasting and long‑term income growth. As a full member of the Executive team, they will contribute to organisational leadership, governance and strategic decision‑making, working closely with the Chief Executive and Board.
The role requires a values‑led, impact‑driven leader with a strong record of cross‑organisational leadership, a proven ability to deliver ambitious, sustained fundraising growth and experience of aligning fundraising goals with wider organisational strategy. They must also be able to demonstrate values‑based leadership that promotes belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion, and which supports team wellbeing and drives high performance.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, skilled at building high‑value relationships and engaging wider audiences through excellent stewardship. They will bring forward‑thinking insight into market trends, data‑driven decision‑making and the effective use of technology, including leading CRM implementation to enhance fundraising impact. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Press and working alongside the Co-Head (Communications and Engagement), you’ll be making a key contribution to maximising positive press and earned media coverage for Greenpeace.
Your responsibilities will include helping to develop earned media strategies for core campaigns, preparing and delivering high-quality earned media content, and maintaining relationships with key journalists and outlets across various platforms. As part of the agile press office, you’ll be deployed flexibly to multiple campaigns and rapid response opportunities, as well as acting as a key liaison point internally and as an external spokesperson.
Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum. You'll have
- Significant media relations experience within a campaigning, NGO or media organisation in the UK, including securing high-quality earned coverage.
- Demonstrable understanding of how to work with and diversify earned media channels.
- Deep understanding of the UK media landscape, with experience of developing strong journalist relationships, plus excellent contacts in relevant sectors.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice on media tactics and to deliver high-quality content for various earned media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including face to face.
- Ability to set up effective administrative systems and databases, and to organise a high-pressure workload across multiple projects.
