Your London Marathon Volunteering Experience - Cheer with Scope!

Be part of the electric atmosphere at the world’s most iconic marathon on Sunday 26 April 2026. We’re looking for enthusSoak up the fantastic energy and be a part of the world’s most iconic marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026. Join Scope in cheering on and motivating our incredible team of over 110 runners, who are all fundraising to help create an equal future with disabled people.  

About this role 

The streets of London will come alive once again on Sunday 26th April for the London Marathon. We can’t wait to get out there and support our amazing runners! And we hope YOU will join us.

Your role will be to help keep our runners going and make them feel super proud of what an amazing thing they’re doing. Clap, yell, cheer - anything that lends our runners the energy they need to go the distance. We’ll have music, banners and flags! By registering to help, you’ll also get a free Scope t-shirt to help you look the part.

It would be fantastic if you’re able to volunteer for the full shift. But if you can’t, then we’d be super appreciative for any time you are able to give – ideally 2 hours minimum.

Our Spring Project
9.30am to 5.30pm, Sat 28th March – Wed 1st April, in north London

We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers, to join us on our fantastic fun-filled Spring Social Development Project.

Volunteers and our members who have disabilities get to know each other as they take part in fun and challenging workshops including sports & games, arts & crafts, cooking and enjoying a day out in London.

What you'll do
On the project you and a fellow volunteer will be paired with one of our members with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to take part in a wide range of activities led by professional therapists and workshop leaders.

Our core activities are sports & games, arts & crafts, drama, and music. Previous additional workshops have also included photography, football and cooking and you’ll plan your own exciting outing around London with a fellow volunteer and the Kith & Kids member you're linked with.

Not only is it a time full of fun and games for you and our members, but you are also a vital part in supporting our members to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment.

What you need
You do not need experience. Full disability awareness training will be provided before you begin volunteering with us.
The only requirements we ask of you are enthusiasm, energy and to be open-minded.

The project runs for 5 days, 9.30am to 5.30pm, Sat 28th March – Wed 1st April.
Everyone gets the most out of the project if you come for the full five days as you'll build a close relationship with the member you'll have been supporting and will create the most impact.

Our Summer Camp
Wed 17th - Sun 21st June and/or Wed 1st - Sun 5th July

We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join us on our action-packed residential Summer Camp. On the camp you will be supporting one of our members with a disability to have a holiday they won’t forget.

What you'll do

On the camp you and a fellow co-volunteers will support one of our members with a learning disability or autism for the 5 days. You’ll support and encourage them to take part in lots of exciting activities such as campfires, treasure trails, swimming, games nights, day trips to the seaside and much more. You’ll also help our members with their day-to-day routines and preparing our meals.

Not only is it five days full of fun and games for you and our members, but you will also play a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment and of course, to enjoy a fantastic holiday!

• As a trustee of Cuth’s JCR, you provide strategic oversight and guidance to ensure the charity continues to support student welfare, community, and opportunities effectively across Durham.
• Trustees play a key role in offering continuity and stability to a volunteer-led organisation, advising on financial, legal, and operational decisions as the student leadership changes each year.
• The role involves supporting JCR officers through expertise and oversight, helping shape how the charity operates while contributing to long-term development and governance.
• Trustees work closely with the board and subcommittees to scrutinise decisions, provide professional insight, and ensure the organisation meets its legal and financial responsibilities.

Many of the men we support experience isolation, low confidence, and barriers to engaging with community life. As a befriender volunteer, you’ll build a consistent, trust based relationship that encourages social connection, helps set and pursue personal goals, and supports wellbeing and independence.

What you will be doing

• Offer regular one-to-one befriending - meeting for a walk, coffee, or a planned activity to reduce isolation and build confidence.
• Provide light, goal focused mentoring - agree simple goals (e.g., joining a group, practicing a routine, building life skills) and check progress together.
• Encourage safe community participation - libraries, local groups, leisure activities, volunteering, or learning opportunities.
• Share clear information and signpost to staff or local services where appropriate
• Accompany to non clinical community appointments, help read/understand letters, complete wellbeing “welfare check ins,” and promote general engagement in the community.
• Keep brief session notes or a simple check in with your supervisor and escalate any concerns immediately in line with safeguarding guidance.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on the role of Community First Aid Network Leader who can work and lead volunteering groups and leaders in their own way, supported by our central teams 

The Network Lead role focuses on the South East London Network, Locations are primarily centred around Lewisham and the surrounding areas.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C. is seeking a Volunteer Clinical Therapy Lead to join our founding volunteer team. This role helps ensure that all emotional wellbeing and therapeutic support offered through the organisation is safe, ethical, culturally responsive, and aligned with our survivor-led mission.

As Clinical Therapy Lead, you will provide guidance and oversight for therapy and emotional support activities within the organisation. You will work closely with programme teams, facilitators and safeguarding leads to ensure support is trauma-informed, culturally aware, and responsive to the needs of survivors and community members.

This role combines professional clinical insight with practical collaboration to help build safe and supportive therapy systems for the community.

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Experience

• Professional qualification and registration in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, Counselling, or a related discipline (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BABCP or equivalent).

• Experience providing trauma-informed therapeutic support.

• Understanding of how culture, identity and systemic factors affect emotional wellbeing.

• Knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and ethical clinical practice.

• Ability to assess risk and provide clear clinical guidance in sensitive situations.

• Experience supporting or supervising practitioners, facilitators, or volunteers.

• Strong communication skills, including explaining clinical concepts to non-clinical colleagues.

• Experience working with survivors, vulnerable individuals, or marginalised communities.

Our Employability Project
10am to 3pm, Monday and/or Friday during term-time

Our Employment & Life Skills Project (ELSP) helps adults with learning disabilities or autism to access further education, work experience and visits to mainstream community opportunities. 

What you’ll do
You’ll act as a mentor to the members of the group.  You’ll be helping the group(s) develop a range of life skills, things that many of us take for granted.  These include Maths and English skills, independent living, the use of public transport, social skills and even the sourcing of employment. 

For the people in these groups, these things can be very difficult to develop and achieve without regular support. Through regular support and meetings, members and volunteers develop greater trust, skills, and confidence together.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR / MANAGER — URBAN YOUTH (HYBRID VOLUNTEER ROLE)

Urban Youth is a brand new start‑up charity bringing street-based youth work, pop-ups, and high-energy support to young people across London. We’re taking over unused spaces, showing up where teens actually are, and building a youth work model that feels more like a street wear fashion drop than a service.

But every movement needs a heartbeat. A culture. A crew. And that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator/Manager to lead our recruitment drive, build our volunteer programme from scratch, and shape the spirit of Urban Youth as we prepare for launch.

What You’ll Do

As our Volunteer Coordinator/Manager, you’ll be the architect of our volunteer community — the person who turns enthusiasm into action and strangers into a family.

You’ll:

• Lead our volunteer recruitment drive across London and online

• Build our volunteer programme, pathways, and onboarding experience

• Shape a culture rooted in positivity, belonging, continuous improvement, and team spirit

• Support volunteers across street teams, pop-up crews, remote roles, and creative teams

• Develop simple, effective systems for communication, scheduling, and support

• Help create a volunteer experience that feels energising, empowering, and unforgettable

• Work closely with our leadership team to prepare Urban Youth for launch

This is a chance to design the volunteer journey from the ground up — the tone, the vibe, the rituals, the sense of community.

Bright Futures UK is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Key Stage 3 Science tutors to provide educational support and a fun, safe learning environment for young people living with serious illnesses.

What will you be doing? 

Run tutoring sessions online to support a young person for one hour per week 

Offer subject area knowledge and expertise related to KS3 Science 

Help to combat social isolation through fun and engaging tutoring sessions. 

Adhere to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

What are we looking for? 

1. Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of KS3 Science concepts and specifications.
2. Teaching Skills: Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way.
3. Empathy and Patience: Kind and understanding nature, especially towards those facing health challenges.
4. Reliability: Consistent availability for the agreed-upon time commitment.
5. Adherence to safeguarding policies and report concerns to the BFUK Team

1. Academic Progress: Help young people stay on track with their studies despite their health challenges, ensuring they do not fall behind.
2. Confidence Builder: Provide a stable and encouraging presence that helps build the students' confidence and resilience.
