About Kimedes

Kimedes is a purpose-driven WaterTech startup tackling one of the world’s most pressing challenges: water scarcity. Through our AI-powered leak detection technology, we help municipalities and industries reduce water losses by up to 30%, supporting a more efficient and sustainable use of water resources.

We are currently in our market expansion phase across Spain and Catalonia, building partnerships with municipalities, water utilities, and industrial players. We welcome motivated volunteers and interns who want to contribute to sustainability, technology, and climate impact while gaining real-world experience in a dynamic startup environment.

Role Summary – Intelligence Research Volunteer

As an Intelligence Research Volunteer, you will support Kimedes in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing critical market insights. Your work will focus on tracking technologies, competitors, policy frameworks, and sector trends in the water management and climatetech space. These insights will directly inform Kimedes’ go-to-market strategy, fundraising narrative, and product positioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on emerging technologies in leak detection, water management, and climatetech.
• Map and analyze competitors, startups, and incumbents in the European and global water sector.
• Track market trends, regulations, and funding opportunities relevant to water technology adoption.
• Prepare concise reports, briefs, and dashboards to share insights with the CEO and COO.
• Support strategic projects such as pitch decks, grant applications, and partnership proposals by contributing research-based insights.
• Monitor industry news, conferences, and innovation clusters to identify opportunities for Kimedes.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and research skills, with ability to process and synthesize information clearly.
• Familiarity with market research methods and business intelligence approaches.
• Interest in climatetech, water management, or smart infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup and deliver on agreed timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Spanish/Catalan a plus but not required).
• Bonus: Experience in competitor analysis, trend reports, or academic/consulting research projects.

Volunteering in the shop

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.

Our Ealing Green Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Level the Playing Field in Development (LPFDev) is a volunteer-led community challenging harmful narratives and practices in the global development sector through a decolonial lens. By addressing entrenched colonial structures, LPFDev advocates for equity, anti-racism, and decolonisation approaches that move beyond theory into practical solutions. The initiative fosters collective intentionality within the development community, creating safe spaces for open, candid dialogue while promoting more inclusive and just practices. Data Analysis & Writing (Climate Justice Monitoring)

Support our climate justice research team by analysing qualitative and quantitative data collected from climate events and COP negotiations. Translate data insights into clear, compelling reports and briefing notes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support in the monitoring and collection of data on climate events in line with the research questions
• Analyse data sets related to COP30 and other climate-related events
• Draft reports and briefs on inclusion, equity, and participation patterns
• Collaborate with the research team to develop key findings and recommendations
• Ensure all written outputs are accessible

Treasurer – Role Summary

The Treasurer plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the charity. They monitor financial performance and report to the Board of Trustees and Chief Officer at both Board and Finance Sub-Committee meetings. This includes detailed reporting on income and expenditure against budget, cash flow, the balance sheet, and the charity’s reserves position.

The Treasurer liaises with the charity’s external independent examiners, guiding and advising fellow trustees to ensure the formal approval of the annual report and accounts. They also ensure that the Chief Officer submits annual accounts and returns to all relevant regulatory bodies in a timely and compliant manner.

Acting as a steward of the charity’s finances, the Treasurer ensures that financial management and investment practices are responsible, legal, and aligned with accepted accounting standards. They are also responsible for ensuring the maintenance of proper financial records and the implementation of effective financial procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

• Liaise with the charity’s external bookkeepers to ensure that all financial records are accurately maintained and up to date.

• In conjunction with the bookkeepers, review and/or prepare monthly management accounts. Investigate any significant variances from the budget.

• Submit monthly management accounts and a summary of key figures to the Finance Sub-Committee. Provide written or verbal reports to the Board in advance of, or at, formal trustees’ meetings.

• Review and update the charity’s Finance Policy and Procedures on an annual basis to ensure ongoing compliance and relevance.

• Act as a countersignatory for bank payments and funding applications as required.

• Collaborate with the Chief Officer on the preparation of the annual budget, presenting a draft to the Finance Sub-Committee for review and recommending its adoption to the Board of Trustees before the start of the financial year.

• Ensure that all strategic and operational plans are financially appraised and that corresponding budgets align with both short-term and long-term objectives.

• Support the Chief Officer in ensuring compliance with the financial filing requirements of Companies House and the Charity Commission.

Dive into lasting impact: Fundraise for East London Waterworks Park to create and shape natural swimming ponds, ecological habitats and community gardens

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

Do you have experience organising events, or would you like to get some? Our past fundraising activities have included pub quizzes, a photography competition and exhibition, sale of locally made jeans and more. If you’re buzzing with ideas of how to raise money or are keen to get stuck in and help to make some events happen, we would love to hear from you.

The Fundraising Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Thursday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely. We understand that people may not have a lot of time to give, so we want to find volunteers who could give us one-off or ongoing strategic advice and support.

East London Waterworks Park is an exciting and ambitious project that offers many rewarding opportunities for our volunteers. You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds and forest schools. 

By leading fundraising projects that explore how diverse professionals (architects, ecologists, web developers, community researchers etc.) collaborate to shape community infrastructure, volunteers will directly contribute to the development of a park that truly reflects the needs and desires of the local community. 

Without funding we won’t be able to make it happen. Your input will help us craft experiences that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability. We are seeking two Non-Executive Directors to join the Board of St Helena Hospice Trading Lts, the wholly owned trading subsidiary of St Helena Hospice. As we continue to diversify our income to support specialist palliative and bereavement care across North East Essex, our trading company plays a vital role in generating sustainable revenue through retail and enterprise.

At Better Place Bradford, our mission is to identify and oversee improvements to local parks and outdoor spaces with the aim of providing a healthier and happier environment for babies, young children and families. We work across larger parks, pocket parks, community centres, streets and green spaces across BD3, BD4 and BD5.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and highly motivated individual, who is looking to gain some practical landscape maintenance experience.

As a Volunteer Urban Ranger, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the upkeep of our sites, regularly checking that each site is safe, inviting, and free from rubbish — noting any issues that arise.

Duties include: Litter clearance, sweeping sand back into the sand pits, weeding, planting, watering plants, affixing signs, checking in on the Little Free Library boxes, strimming, raking leaves, supporting at event days, promoting responsible use and enjoyment of our sites.

This role is for you if you;

• Enjoy being outdoors (in all weather)
• Are not afraid of physical work

• Are comfortable getting to sites across BD3/BD4/BD5
• Enjoy interacting with members of the public

As a stock volunteer, you'll be behind-the-scenes, sorting and organising donations to keep our retail spaces well-stocked. Your keen eye for detail and passion for helping others will ensure our customers always have a great choice of items to buy.

What you will be doing

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
• Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
• Chatting to customers who drop off donations and other members of the team.
• Preparing stock to be put out on the shop floor, ready for sale.
• Researching valuable and vintage stock.
• Photographing and listing items for the online shop.
• This role may include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.
